I got that dvd you showed at the start.What i remember they were entertaining films.I do have all and watched all those Frances the Talking Mule movies with nan when i was looking after her. I watched Late Night With The Devil on Netflix a couple of nights ago. I didn't mind it! That release looks pretty cool.

I was severely underwhelmed by Late Night with the Devil. I mean, as a retro comedy, it was fine. However, as a horror film, it completely tried to float with a rusted bucket. I can see what they were going for. They just didn't get there. Shame. They nailed the 70s look (even if they overdid it).

Too bad the imprint version doesn't have the journal and book. I don't understand why Second sight couldn't make its set available to all regions. Thanks for the comparison.

Awesome dvd collection in the background

I'm in the USA, and have a region A, 4k player. The Panasonic ub820. Both disc work. When inserting the disc, it goes the a blank player menu, all you do is hit the "top menu" on the remote and takes you right to the DVD menu and everything plays perfect. Just wanted to share this.

Just watched second sight and what a difference. The colors and clarity were great. It truly looks like found footage.

Yea was saddened that Book of Shadows BW 2 didn't had the easter eggs for Esrever on the movie even though it did had the promo featurette on it hopefully I can get the Second Sight boxset a little later

Just got the Second sight edition and is simply amazing set with everything you want if you love this movie. Imprints looks impressive and nearly got it really for the second movie. But import cost boosts the price up on it.

Haha, the reversible artwork. We have lot of those here in Japan also. Flipping it is the easiest solution lol

As a fellow Aussie, I was happy with the Imprint Boxset and really sold when it came with Book of Shadows. Second Sight do amazing work and produce great sets but for me, the simpler Imprint Boxset is all I need. And recently secured at a JB sale at 20% off sale. Almost impossible for me to resist. 😂

I recently purchased online from DVDHub. Bit like Zavvi. I'll defs check out the ones you've mentioned.

When DVD first come out many studios pulled out all stops for xtras & moving menus. Now its just complacency.

What's left ??? Physically - well there's JB - and they are shrinking stock for that POP CRAP !! Who the f*** whats that stuff ?? Beyond that - for 2nds there is CEX. I have a collection of some 5000 Blu/4K discs - and am finding that there is so little stuff that i will bother with. I don't buy stuff from the AU resellers -(outrun / DeadEnd) when you can buy US/UK titles from Amazon or Rarewaves. It's been a good run.. but there's not much left

Great video. The market for the actual in store market has dwindled in the past few years unfortunately. Unless you have a JB HiFi near you, there aren't too many other places to go to. I was sad to hear about Sanity's transition to online over physical storefronts, as they were a great alternative.

I picked up my copy yesterday from HMV in the UK. Looking forward to watching tonight!

I can still remember going to see this film back in 1999. Where I live, the cinemas always have break halfway through whatever they're showing, so that the audience can stretch their legs a bit (i.e. buy more expensive snacks). Well, the same happened during Blair Witch. The lights came on and half the audience went to buy popcorn or whatever, while the rest of us waited impatiently for the film to start up again. And once it did, there were only like 10 minutes left of it! You can't imagine the roar of boos and hisses that arose from a couple of hundred people who felt royally ripped-off! I like the film, though. And like you, I bought both versions. The Second Sight one is clearly the winner, but for the completionist, getting both is the only choice.

JB doesn't actually have a 2 week guarantee, it seems most stores just do it out of courtesy but it's not an actual written rule from what I can see.

Casuarina, by their own admission a target for light fingers, still has a massive collection of CDs and DVDs - vinyl is a smaller selection and thankfully they dont have audio cassette tapes. The people pushing that format are crazy - they were shit last century and Im confident that they shit now. Cant say I know anyone who has a turntable in Darwin but obviously they are out there.

I just want to give a shout out to the guy still running a Magnum Movies not half an hour from where I live. It's located in Lakes Entrance, in the East Gippsland area, Victoria. He still does rentals! Walking in there is like stepping 15 years in to the past. I go there all the time. I love it. If you're ever in the area 👍

I have the CLZ app on my phone and it's great as I can also scan the barcodes to add to my database

JB HI FI at South Penrith is one of the stores closing down their physical media.

Most of the time I buy online from jb hi fi and from eBay and dvd diabolical and Amazon or sanity online

I use those plastic steelbook protectors too. I just fold the card at the top or bottom factory folds and slide it in behind the steelbook. That way it's still 100% visible but doesn't hinder me getting to the disc. Only problem is you can't see that back cover art. Like my steelbook of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which I pretty much bought for the back cover art of Brandy the Pitbull and she's covered up by a j card. But that's how it goes

I do feel that if you cannot get past JB HI FI Buying division we are stuck with the inferior product I would cite for an example the fantastic Blu Ray Remastering set Of Lost In Space. All we got in Australia was the New Packaging and the same old DVDs inside. I can think of several other examples such as that.

Do any of these stores offer international shipping? I love Australian films and TV shows (never seen a bad one) and I find that the very best place to buy such things is....surprise, surprise......from the source! I've tried Imprint and Umbrella, plus I've gotten some stuff that's never been released in Europe from some Ebay sellers, but it would be great to be able to shop from places that won't break the bank as well, you know?

My local JB near Brisbane has completely removed all 4k/bluray/DVDs/CDs/vinyl from the store and others have greatly reduced their stock. The delivery service is the worst Ive used. Most times it takes longer than a month to arrive. I used to go there weekly, now I avoid them.

CEX/webuy is basically Cash Converters but focused on physical media, tech gadgets & gaming only. A great place to browse second hand media. And I always love browsing the Deadend stall when I see them at Supanova.

I've noticed DeadEnd DVD has slowed down a bit with the releases of late, Outrun on the other hand seems to have stuff up for sale within hours of their announcement.

I've never been to it but there's a store in Tullamarine that sells regular/Boutique Phys Media
