I can’t thank you enough for posting this. I was so spoiled growing up when I did with R&B music. I was in college when this tour came to LA so I couldn’t afford to go. This version put me right there in the building. Listening to this was truly healing to my soul.

Nah it actually isn’t:
D’Angelo sampled Kool & The Gang’s “Sea of Tranquility” from their 1969 self-titled debut LP for “Send It On”. If you go listen to “Sea of Tranquility”, you could hear the intro the band plays in here is actually the outro to the 1969 song!
I personally prefer live versions of “Send It On” with the intro much better than the studio version on Voodoo. However, I listen to Voodoo all the time so I actually prefer the studio recording when I play the album in its entirety haha!
