  • In April of this year, my friend Alex and I made our spring trip to Yosemite National Park. To say that this was my most challenging trip, photographically speaking, is an understatement. I struggled with finding creative vision and motivation while I was in one of the most beautiful places in the world, woe is me. However, follow a long as I talk about dealing with that and persevering to find creative and rewarding photographic compositions. This week's video is a long one so have a cup of coffee and enjoy! *Also, below I have listed some of affiliate links for the gear I am currently using so if you're interested or on the market, check them out and help support the channel and me!* I really appreciate you taking the time to be here this week. Hitting the like button on these videos helps me the most and if you haven't subscribed, please do! Until next time!
    Safe travels,

Pretty crazy how much difference one year can make. It looks like it’s just now finally Spring in the valley. Glad to see you still came away with some wonderful images. Your eye really saw some unique moments of intimate light.

I appreciate you watching, buddy. Miss seeing your videos pop up! I did watch your Mt Rainier one though. I need to get back up there before long. But yeah the contrast was amazing between this year and last. It definitely pushed me to find new subjects.

Nice work bud! I think the one at 28:23 is my favorite. Beautiful glow on the cliffs. And I completely get your concern about the plasticky 100-500mm, that’s the reason I kept the 100-400 and 1.4x. Love that it’s metal and feels super sturdy, and it works across all my cameras is an added bonus. Looks like it was a great trip!

Thanks buddy! That is actually one of my favorites from the trip as well, caught a really nice moment pretty early on. Yeah the metal of the sony lenses does instill a little more confidence as far as durability goes but I mean the RF line is pretty solid though haha. I appreciate you hanging in there and watching! long one this week lol.

I walked by you on Saturday morning as you were photographing Yosemite Falls. I was heading to the swinging bridge to see if the woodpeckers were but saw none. I walked up and down the valley looking for wood ducks and never saw one. Tuesday morning of that week it snowed and I got a few shots that I liked. I'm thinking of visiting in October to see what it looks like then.

Thanks for watching Duane! I remember you mentioning you saw me out there. I was able to capture that one woodpecker near the river. Yosemite in the fall is great, I’d like to make a trip if I can this year.

@@jaredboazphoto I watched a lot of videos before I went to Yosemite last January. I know that is what I recognized you from when I was walking around in April. I didn't say hello because I wasn't sure that I had seen you on RUclips. Your friend Bill was there also and I thought he could be a paying client so I didn't want to interrupt what you were doing. I think Yosemite always has something to take a picture of. I went in April to see where the Milky Way was in the valley. I took a picture with part of the Milky Way stretched out behind Half Dome and my friends like it.

Hi jared I subbed last year. Love your photography. Wish you have more subscribers. You got a campsite. That’s great. How long ago do you have to make the reservation?

It’s a slow burn haha. The channel has been growing, just slowly but liking and sharing helps! I got lucky with a cancellation on this trip. Thanks for watching!

I like your videos but you should reconsider putting all of the pictures at the end. If you include them after the moment of the shot, they have context and it sort of breaks up the talking to the camera.

Thanks for the input, Andy! I used to do that and I might in the future. I kinda like it at the end right now to cap off the trip but I might change that in the future, who knows. Thanks for watching and giving me your thoughts!
