Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I had to cut out a lot of garbage filming - and you’re right I get bored when I see unnecessary footage.
Wow, I like what I'm seeing here and I'm so impressed. Yeah! How beautiful the world is! How beautiful this place is!. Look around you, This place is really nice, Everything is covered with trees, There are so many forests, The forests are green, There are big mountains, The mountains are high and The view from the top of those mountains must be very beautiful, There are big waterfalls, There's a great river and The river flows. It's a beautiful day outside and I like that. I can't believe this, We all live on planet earth, Our planet is amazing and There are many beautiful places on this planet and This is one of them. Yo! Your video is amazing because I feel as if I were in this place, Thank you very much, I really appreciate it and I'd like to go there someday. By the way, I like your profile picture. Greetings from Lima, Peru. 🇵🇪🦙🇵🇪🦙🇺🇸🗽🇺🇸🗽🏞️⛰️🌳🌲🙂👍
Thank you so much for the lengthy comment and your compliments. I must say this park is one of the magical ones. Some parks - while beautiful - look similar to other parks. This park is so unique. It can be super busy in the middle of the summer (I don’t go in the summer because of this). I hope you get to go! Incidentally I have a long time friend in Lima. Peru is beautiful.
Enjoy and a great time to go - avoid the crowds. I'm jealous as I don't think I'll get back this year. By the way, I went to Law School at NIU (Dekalb - near Chicago - loved it although it was a long time ago).
Hi there. What a great video. Thank you. I would like to mention that El Portal entrance also has a gas station. I didn't see that listed in your gas stations. Also that there is downhill skiing in Yosemite, on the south side. It's called Badger Pass and it opens after the first snow of winter. It's located just off the Glacier Point Road. CHEERS!
I'll be visiting Yosemite next week. Thank you so much for getting video, really helpful. How much do we need to trek?? I'm not too fond of trekking heights.
Have fun in Yosemite! Some of the easier hikes (and hopefully avoiding some height problems) would be: Glacier Point (1 mile long), Lower Mariposa Grove (2.2 miles long), Tuolumne Meadows (2 miles long), Lower Yosemite Falls (1/2 a mile long). I'm not sure if they are all open right now so check before you go. Enjoy! And btw, thank you so much for the nice comment.
Yes and no. I didn't realize you needed a reservation to get in before 4PM, and I was too cheap to get a lodge in the park; opting for one outside. The only time I saw the park was when I drove through on my way to the lodge. It wasn't all bad though; I still got to enjoy the mountains, and visited an old ghost town.
May can be chilly and you'll likely find snow in places. Also, the spring is when you'll see the waterfalls at their biggest - this year was particularly violent (and there was some flooding in the meadows). I would try and avoid summery (July and August) as they are busy - I love early June or late September (still as busy but not quite as bad).
Thank you very much. The rumors are true, Yosemite is VERY crowded in the summer. Unless you start your day early (well before 8am) you would be lucky to find a park. Be sure and check out the texting code in the description to find out the parking status. Have fun!
which would be the top 3 campsites if I want to be "close to eveything" (considering we would like to camp 3-4 nights); thanks in advance. Great video btw, congrats on that.
Good question - so, I have not stayed at all the campgrounds and therefore can only speak to the ones I am familiar with. But, I think you need to be in Yosemite Valley (not north or south). There are 4 campgrounds in this area and I've stayed at two (Upper Pines and Camp 4). Both were wonderful and I've heard good things about Lower Pines as well. I hope that helps a little bit.
I've never been to Yosemite in the winter but, I have been to other northern National Parks (Grand Teton, Banff, Jasper, etc.) - although Canadian National Parks are a little different. That being said, I know it's beautiful and accessible (much of it) - and it snows alot. Here is the what the National Park Service says: "While Yosemite Valley and Wawona remain accessible by car all year, the Tioga Road is closed (usually by sometime in November). Once closed for the season, vehicles are not permitted between Crane Flat and Tioga Pass, including in the Tuolumne Meadows area. The road to Glacier Point is also closed (usually sometime in November). However from mid-December though early April, the Glacier Point/Badger Pass Road is plowed to the Badger Pass Ski Area, where both downhill and cross-country skiing are popular. Tire chains are often required on park roads. When they are, you must carry and know how to use them, regardless of the type of vehicle you are driving. Mariposa Grove Road usually opens by sometime in April, allowing for access to vehicles displaying a disability placard, with free shuttle service between the Mariposa Grove Welcome Plaza (near South Entrance) and the Mariposa Grove. When the road is closed, the Washburn Trail provides a two-mile route (500 feet of elevation gain) to the Mariposa Grove. The trail may be snowy or icy (skis or snowshoes may be appropriate)."
When you mention to find a parking spot and leave the car there. Are you able to see most of yosemite while on foot or you must use the shuttle? I plan on only going for one day early around 6am, If i must see only one or two places, what would you recommend? I think Yosemite falls and one other thing but can't decide. I want to park around 6am, go see famous places in the park and be out by 10am
Hi there - so, the park is huge and yes there is shuttle service around the park. To be honest I have never used the shuttle service although I do know people who have. Apparently the shuttle service is fine if you don't mind busy buses and having to rely on their schedule (and wait). In terms of parking and then wandering on your own, what I refer to is exploring the area near to where you parked or, if you have bike, venturing off on a bike (where you can). The Yosemite Valley is a good area to grab your bike (if you have one) and roam the area on bike. I was in the park in June and parked around 6am (like you wish to do) - I had no problem getting in and finding a park this early but when I left (around noon) it was crazy busy. I think your plan on getting there early and leaving early makes complete sense! Don't forget to check the Park's parking app: -Text YNPTRAFFIC to 333111 for parking updates.
@traveleaz awesome! Thank you very much for the detailed reply! So It makes sense to only visit one area of the park and just make the most of it. Subscribed for the amazing content you are providing!
I am not sure if there is a "best" meadow (others might have had experiences different to me). I like Tuolumne Meadows. But, here are some of the best: Cook's Meadow, between Yosemite Village and Yosemite Valley Lodge, Sentinel Meadow (just west of the chapel), Stoneman Meadow (across the street from Curry Village), and Leidig Meadow (west of Yosemite Valley Lodge).
Early October is a great time to visit - you'll find less people and hotels are easier to book. However it can be quite cold and the waterfalls (which have been amazing this year) are not nearly as fast flowing (not as dramatic). From memory, everything is still open in early October. I prefer late September and early October, to be honest. Great time to go.

No worries at all - it's actually very easy to make a mistake and when I visit these places I usually have only a few hours to film the entire video - it's not the first mistake I have made. That being said, I'm currently editing my Sequoia NP video and I found a mistake yesterday, that I have fixed (and I have you to thank because I gave it another last minute edit).

Glad you had a nice time although somewhat compromised. The lodging is expensive in the park! Some benefits certainly, but at a cost.
@traveleaz I did learn a few things from that trip. You get what you pay for, bring cash, and do more research before hand.
Amazing video, so informative! Thanks
Thank you very much! I appreciate it.
You can ski in Yosemite. Badger Pass is one of the last ski areas in the National Park system.
You’re right about that. Found out I missed that one about a week after the video went live. Thanks for the correction.
Thanks
You're welcome and thank you for the nice comment.
BRING YOUR OWN FOOD. Every restaurant in Yosemite is controlled by megacorp Aramark. The same company that makes food for prisoners.
I did not know that! Thanks for the info.
I have the same recommendation for Grand Canyon national Park. The food is complete garbage at exorbitant prices and selection is very limited
Grazie per le informazioni, molto gentile.😊

Thank you for the video! We are planning a 3-day visit to Yosemite this Fall. Do we need to pay for parking every day?
Hi there and thanks for the nice comment. You will need to pay for a park pass (or get an annual pass) to enter but all parking in the park is free.
No, the pass is good for 7 days
