This channel's main goal is to help you plan your vacation while minimizing your work and maximizing your pleasure with Ultimate Travel Guides. I love to research, learn and plan. Every trip I take is thought out well in advance. I'm not very impulsive! I particularly love National Parks and locations where there is beauty and history.
Many years ago I worked in the tourism industry for more than a decade. I worked for the public relations department of the Calgary Stampede (for 3 years) and then for more than 10 years with Tourism Calgary (once known as the Calgary Tourist and Convention Bureau and then the Calgary Convention and Visitors Bureau). I had a direct role in promoting tourism attractions and the infrastructure supporting tourism (hotels, restaurants, transportation).
This channel is dedicated to my father-in-law, Dr. Buzz Ely. An incredible human being and missed more than I can express.

You can carry your pistol so long as you're following the local state laws where the park is located. You cannot take the pistol into gov't buildings. And....you cannot use the pistol! Take yes, use no.

National parks are not, not, not sensitive places. Only places I will avoid carrying are court houses, polling places and legislative chambers. Text, history and tradition.

You saw a grizzly!? Wow! I was in Jasper a couple of months ago and saw a couple - from a safe distance, thankfully. It's an experience that is hard to put into words (the heart does beat a little faster though). I am so glad you had a great time - hopefully it wasn't too busy. I love Grand Teton (my favorite US park!).

Calgary is bad. Nobody is saying that the weather is horrible. Hailstorm every summer. A extreme hailstorm that destroys houses and cars every 3 years. Theres people SMOKING. and addicted 💊💉 its not just downtown its everywhere in calgary. Dont live there but you can visit there if you want.

Well, you are definitely entitled to your opinion. I cannot disagree too much about the weather. But, I don’t think it’s horrible, just cold in the winter. As for addiction issues, they exist everywhere unfortunately. Calgary’s issues do not seem nearly as bad as Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, SF etc (just name a west coast city). It was listed as the fifth most livable city in the world for 2024- so there has to be something to that! Personally I think Calgary is an incredible city.

Wait, this is supposed to be a guide to Dublin, but then you left the country and went to Northern Ireland for the Giant’s Causeway and Belfast. Then you traveled across the country to the Cliffs of Moher.
Correct. Many tourists who visit Dublin want to see other sites that are close by. Ireland and N. Ireland are very small and everything is easy and quick to get to. This is what I did and that’s why I included a few locations.
Then why not call it a guide to ireland?
Because it isn't a guide to Ireland, it's a Guide to Dublin. Everyone travels differently and when I travel to a city I like to see things close to the City, in addition to the city - in London, I go to Windsor, Oxford, Bath, etc. All of these excursions are part of my trip to London. When I go to Melbourne Australia, I travel to Phillip Island and the Great Ocean Road. When I travel to Calgary, I travel to Banff and Jasper. And if you look at travel guides to Dublin, London, Melbourne and Calgary, they all promote excursions. When I worked for Tourism Calgary for 10 years we promoted Calgary, but most visitors wanted to see the rocky mountains, so we promoted that too. We gave what the visitor wanted...and that's what I am trying to do with my visitors. I'm creating travel videos that I would want to watch. It won't please everyone and that's okay, so long as it pleases some people.
