Welcome to the Ultimate Travel Guide to Jasper National Park. I’ve been waiting to make this video for a couple of years and while I have traveled to Jasper recently, I wanted to spend more than just a day in the park so that I could visit all of the major attractions and truly bring a video worthy of this incredible location. During my last trip, I spent many days exploring the park and this video is from that time in the park.
My first visit to Jasper National Park was in 1981. I remember it well and thinking how different it was to Banff. It wasn't as commercial and it wasn’t as busy. The same is still true today. However, even though it is not nearly as busy as Banff it is still one of Canada’s most popular travel destinations (about 2.5 million people visit the park every year). As a result, planning is a must if you wish to make the most out of your visit to Jasper. And, this is what I recommended to everyone I met when I worked with the tourist board in Alberta.
Thank you for watching the ULTIMATE TRAVEL GUIDE to Jasper National Park. This video explores how to get here, how to get around, where to stay, where to eat and what there is to do in one of Canada's most beautiful locations. Please SUBSCRIBE for more videos like this.
    JASPER NATIONAL PARK
Here are some reasons why Jasper National Park is such a great place to visit.
Stunning Natural Beauty: The park boasts dramatic mountain ranges, pristine lakes, lush forests, and expansive valleys, offering some of the most picturesque scenery in the world.
Diverse Wildlife: Jasper is home to an array of wildlife, including elk, moose, black bears, grizzly bears, wolves, and mountain goats. The park provides ample opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography.
Outdoor Adventures: Whether you're into hiking, skiing, boating, or simply relaxing in ature, Jasper offers a wide variety of activities for all seasons.
Accessibility: The park is easily accessible by car and is well-connected by roads and trails that make exploration convenient.
Cultural and Historical Significance: Jasper has a rich cultural and historical background, including Indigenous history and early European exploration.
Top Attractions in Jasper National Park.
Jasper SkyTram: Take a ride up Whistlers Mountain for panoramic views of the park and surrounding areas. It's a great way to get a bird’s-eye view of the landscape.
Columbia Icefield: Visit one of the largest icefields in North America and take a guided tour onto the Athabasca Glacier, either by foot or in specialized Ice Explorer vehicles.
Maligne Lake: Known for its stunning turquoise waters and the iconic Spirit Island, Maligne Lake is perfect for kayaking, canoeing, and boat tours.
Athabasca Falls: One of the most powerful and picturesque waterfalls in the Rockies, Athabasca Falls is a must-see.
Sunwapta Falls: Majestic waterfall in Jasper National Park, known for its powerful cascades and scenic beauty.
Maligne Canyon: This deep, narrow gorge offers spectacular views and several hiking trails that showcase its dramatic rock formations and waterfalls.
Pyramid Lake and Patricia Lake: Both lakes are great for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing, and they offer incredible reflections of the surrounding mountains.
Dark Sky Preserve: Jasper National Park is designated as a Dark Sky Preserve, making it an excellent location for stargazing. The annual Jasper Dark Sky Festival in October celebrates the park's dark skies with events and activities.
Wildlife: You’ll find plenty here and there are way more bears here than there are in Banff - I was lucky as I saw several during this visit.
Outdoor Activities: From hiking, canoeing, kayaking, skiing, and fishing, you’ll find plenty to do in the great outdoors in Jasper.

How fortunate to have this beautiful video uploaded just weeks before the heartbreaking devastation, so it can be remembered as it was.

Thanks for another awesome video. Added a bunch of pins to my Google Maps lol.
Question- Have you ever driven through Valemount down through Kamloops / Golden / Radium? I've done the roundtrip through Icefields so was thinking of going one way through it then back via the alternate with a stay overnight in Kamloops or Radium.

      @traveleaz  5 месяцев назад +2

Thanks again! Great question and the answer is, YES. I drove through Valemount from Kamloops this trip (and then through Golden on the way back). I've traveled through Golden/Kamloops many dozens of times. And actually, I'll have a video from the road trip (Kamloops/Valemount and the whole park etc.) coming later - probably not for a few months, but it's planned! I do love Radium, even though I did not go there this time.
