I lived and worked there for 6 years from 03-09. I lived in the only stone house on the meadow, H-115. My view out my front door was Half Dome. It’s a magical place and was the best 6 years of my life. Always going on some adventure with co workers including 6 of us doing a full moon hike from Glacier point to the valley one beautiful August night.
@@jameswebb9738 Thanks so much for giving a look. Living in the valley must have been wonderful! I've known some others who have lived and worked there and like you, they remember it as one of the best times of their lives. It has become very crowded but still magical.
A nice, calm and relaxing video. Your comments on cold wet feet, and not being able to be in two places at once made me chuckle and are all too relatable! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much for giving a watch Brandt. Much appreciated. Yeah, I like to think I'm not entirely alone when it comes to missing some opportunities. 😉
Yosemite Valley is a paradise location and to be there w/out the crowd is awesome, so many beautiful compositions in that location. Lovely images, cheers.
Beautiful images. That dramatic weather really adds a lot. Helping run some workshops with another photographer in Alaska and the weather has been unsettled as well. But the photo opportunities are endless!
That's nice of you to say. Thanks so much for giving a watch. It's much appreciated. I'm looking forward to another Spring trip to Yosemite in about 10 days.
I really enjoyed watching your video about your Yosemite trip, David. It looked like great time in the valley. Glad you made it out and got to take in some quiet and nature time. Thanks for sharing. I've been enjoying your last few videos. Have a great holiday weekend!
I recently went to Yosemite and hiked Sentinel Dome , Taft Point and Glacier Point the water falls still had water running. Nevada Falls and Vernal Falls made for interesting shots with Half Dome in the pictures. Tunnel View is always worth the stop. The Medows were still lush and green a great way to spend a couple of days in Yosemite
A getaway in Yosemite no matter the conditions is always a gift 😊 I love seeing the valley come to life in the spring. The dogwoods are one of my favorites. You caught some beautiful images! Thanks for sharing such a peaceful trip 😊
Looks like you had a good short weekend get away David. The rain on the first day opened up to some wonderful conditions. I have been to Yosemite twice now but haven't had the atmospherics you had. I'm jealous. If I had to pick out one place to live out the rest of my days, Yosemite would be it. In a word; magical.
Thanks so much for giving a watch Larry. It's much appreciated. It's sort of odd...I've been lucky enough to visit Yosemite many, many times but it's only over the past couple of years that it has really become a favorite location for landscape photography. Don't know why it took me so long.
Yo, How's it going, bro? How are things with you? I hope you're doing great right now and I hope your family is doing well. Wow, I don't believe what I'm seeing, I'm impressed as hell and I don't know what to say. I mean, This is a beautiful place in the world. Yeah, Look around you, There are big mountains, There are big meadows, There are big waterfalls, There are so many forests, There are beautiful trees, There's a great river and The nature is fantastic. Wow, Spring! I can't wait for spring to arrive and I can't wait for this time of the year. Yeah, The sunsets are beautiful at this time of the year and The weather is great at this time of the year. Hey Yo! Thank you very much for this video, man. Yeah, This video is definitely worth watching because I feel like I'm in this place. Greetings from Lima, Peru. 🇵🇪🦙🇵🇪🦙🇺🇸🗽🇺🇸🗽🏞️🏞️🙂👍
I really enjoyed watching this. The conditions looked pretty good for most of the time, and exceptional for others. That little pull behind trailer is pretty cool. I am going to be out in CA in a couple weeks, hoping to catch some fog on the off days.
@@TravisRhoads Ah! Well, hopefully we'll have some fog for you. I've just recently started watching the weather more closely, getting the itch to get back up on Tam for fog. This is the time of year it's starts to get good. Feel free to ping me if you want a take on conditions while you're out here.
First time viewer here. I really enjoyed this video, I'm a weekend warrior too when it comes to landscape photography, and really appreciated and understood the honesty of feelings you admitted to having. I've been through the same, many times.
Thanks so much for the kind feedback. I know I'm not alone in terms of feeling a bit frustrated at times. My goal is usually to try and not get too high or too low and take it as it comes but that's easier said than done.
I stayed at the North Pines campground this time. I had been to Upper Pines and Lower Pines many times previously but this was the first time I got a reservation at North Pines. Thanks so much for giving a watch.
Thanks so much for the kind words. This video was recorded in the first week of May. The springtime can be hit or miss. You can get stormy weather or blue skies or anything in-between. I guess that's part of the fun. :)
Nice episode, David. I missed out on most of Spring in the valley this year as I was out storm chasing but I'm hoping to get up there next week. I love shooting there in the Spring! I feel your pain in not being able to be in two places at once.
Thanks William. I really wish I could have spent more time there. I guess I always say that. Just realize you have some interesting videos I need to go watch.
@@frankstark3036 Tough decision. It's usually less crowded in the spring than summer. Most things in Yosemite Valley should be open but it depends on the winter snowfall so it's never the same from year to year
Beautiful place and photos. Greetings from Poland!
Watching from UAE.
Well Done!!!
Yosemite is a place that refills the soul, the connectedness of photography overflows.
Wise words Chuck😀

100% agree on the magic of Nature Therapy! Beautiful captures of the Valley
It works for me😀
Man, a cold and wet day in Yosemite is better than a clear day elsewhere. Beautiful images.
You got that right! 😀
Completely agree!
I miss this place.

Thanks so much for the kind words Luigi. It seems Yosemite is almost always crowded these days but if you get up early it still feels very special.
Excellent video, David! Hate to say it but I’m quite envious of that spring fog and dogwoods you got this year. Got some beautiful work! Nicely done.
Thanks so much Jared. I just wish I could have done a longer trip, but I seem to always say that.

Thanks so much for giving a watch Dan. Much appreciated. Alaska sounds wonderful! I've never been.
Very cool. I'm going next April and this has me even more excited.
That will be a great time to visit before the summer crowds. Thanks so much for giving a watch.
Still getting caught up on your vlogs . This was fantastic

Thanks for your honesty. Yosemite even in bad weather and on a weekend is yet for me a dream. Maybe one day...
Thanks for giving a watch Robert. Trust me, I don't take it for granted and there are plenty of places I can only dream of visiting.
As I get older I find my drive and ambition towards work diminishing and my passion for photography growing
You and me both. Thanks so much for giving a watch. Much appreciated.
Thanks for the trip to Yosemite. Makes one realize the need to go!
Hi Justin. Yosemite was extra special this year with all of the water. I'm sure it still is. I really wish I could have stayed longer.

Very nice shots. The 14mm shot of Yosemite falls would make interesting panoramic shot. 20x 60.
