Kids growing up today will never understand just how messed up this type of monetisation is. They'll never know how we used to get entire feature complete games for a box price.
Feature complete, sure, but they were far too often buggy as hell and we ignored them because we were too stupid to understand what quality assurance was.
Did we? I remember quarter munching ports that were frustrating to beat, games that were outright BUSTED and having to buy Street Fighter 2 and MK 3 a handful of times because they couldn’t patch new features in so sold you the same game at full price for what? Turbo and Deejay? Monetization has always been bad, we just see it differently now that’s all.
@@jamescarter6468 when you pay for additional content, cosmetics that's alright but if you pay for QoL or some chests to get better so the game is more based on what you wear than your skills then it's a garbage. Look at the dark souls i know it's different game but you can pretty much finish the game without the best eq with a basic items if you are really good at mechanics and dodging etc. and then look at the game that stops you from playing further until you reach that 147239849498329843 dps to go smoothly through "neverending dungeons that go deeper" or just says numebrs. all i see is only big numbers in these type of games. Well i'm not the one who is throwing money at that type of game which is pretty much like a virtual casino. Edit: Sorry for my english it's not my primary language i tried hard.
you mean the time when company put misleading or vague box art so you have no clue what the heck in the game unless it is one of the game you saw from magazine? the time where there is no instant patch so if your early copy is buggy, you may have to buy another "definite" edition with the same price later? or what about all those gimmick game's control that make you unable to play the game without them like duck hunt's gun, power pad, power glove and so on? which a lot of time they don't even work right.
I think it's actually a good idea to try out games completely blind, theres no way you wouldve gotten as good of a first impression if you knew exactly what was coming, which makes the dissappointment of discovering the mobile mechanics and giga-cashshop all the more honest. Good review.
@@Asian_Bon the pushback against them would be much more intense and impactful if everyone who complains about them had the disappointment themselves as their personal feeling instead of the currently I'd say 30% of complainers who actually tried any given title and the 70% just parroting the "drama".
You have the leap ,blink , roll for dodging and you can use them 2 times in a row before cooldown, you have to equip the runes for your preferred playstyle.
While I understand and agree with your distrust of Blizz over the recent years, I played in the D4 end-game beta for nearly 80 hours and IMO it was nearly ready for release then and a very enjoyable experience. With that insider knowledge, I would strongly second Peon's recommendation.
@@Rebourn135 Diablo Immoral's crappy monetization wasn't implemented in the beta. At the risk of sounding like a total jerk, your experience is incomplete to make a judgment on D4 in its entirety, monetization warts and all. Sorry, friend.
@@a_lost_one Other than the story, which is only going to enhance the game judging by past Diablo games (including Immortal), what makes my experience incomplete?Every system that will be rolled out at launch was subject to testing. I got to max level and tested everything as reasonably as could be done in the time frame allotted. The monetization scheme in D4 is finalized, buy-to-play and in-game-cosmetic purchases only, and was available in the beta. Sorry that your distaste in Diablo Immortal makes you distrust Blizz, but your ignorance of the D4 beta shows that you did not participate, so please spare us your hot takes.
I'm lvl 78..cleared all 3 acts and I am well into endgame. Play on mobile only and didn't spend a penny although I might do at some point just to support the devs
100hours into the game can say f2p is possible. However acts 1 to 3 you can get away with almost any build any runes ect ect. Though from acts 3 and up you'll really need to look at your build runes, etc. (without paying). Invest into your runes, weapons and, armor. Pay attention to the acts current dmg like acts 3 does lighting dmg so you'll need lighting resistant on your gear.
I've got about 100 hours in the game, currently level 72. Few things to say: - The endgame will downright force you to at least spend cash on storage space. - Everything else can more or less be ignored, although it's really annoying only being able to put 1 item in the alchemy bank. - The monetization really is cancer. You get blocked out of almost all QoL things. Like alchemy slots as previously mentioned. - Relics and Maps are for the most part only there to fill your inventory and storage with maximum clutter, as most of them are useless. - Feels like them gently trying to force you to buy storage space. - Relic crafting is completely blocked off behind a paywall. - Interacting with the auction house is tedious, annoying, and buying items from the AH is also blocked behind a paywall ... - All in all I've dumped about 60 bucks into the game. (Maxing out storage space and 1 battle pass) I'd say for the roughly 100 hours of gameplay it gave me (which was good! the combat IS good! the rune system IS good!) it was worth the 60 bucks. Haven't touched the game in weeks though. Because the load of the previously mentioned annoyances far surpass the enjoyment. Here's to hoping PoE gets its shit together and the december expansion will be magnitudes better than whatever clusterfuck Lake of Kalandra was...
I played almost 100h, didn't spent a penny so far and having a great time. The only thing I am tempted to buy is the stash tab for the crafting materials. Besides, there isn't really much you can buy that you won't get by simply playing the game.
path of exile i bought stash tabs i mean it's a free game after all what do you expect ? they need to get their money eitherway so i don't see any wrong doing in spending some money into it if you buy a game you also spend 40-60 €
As an Asian I'm immune to cash grab games lol I've played almost every single one of them but never bought from cash shop I'm just play to enjoy and kill time off if I'm not busy but it's a different story if you want to be one of the strongest. PC UI is much better than phone the app in full of bugs and glitches I think they're having hard time fixing it since it's more than a month since the last update. Kudos lazypeon always great insights in every review!
The strategy of mobile games is to catch players on the honeymoon phase, where the game is fun and the progression smooth, to push them to pay and get them attached to the game. But all without a single exception finish in the P2W side with frustration mecanics, limitations of gameplay and fun, to push to pay to find again the fun. But the fun doesn't last long and cost more and more, exactly like real drug. The only difference is that the honeymoon phase last more or less longer.
Been playing this game for about a month. Love this game and I am a free player and still building what I consider a monster of a character. I am level 47 now and I love the game. Deff will scratch that Diablo itch if you are looking for a hack and slash. The freedom to take your skill runes multiple directions and then be able to add 6 link runes. You can turn almost any skill OP!
@Shahzad Adil I work a job and plus 40 hours a week. I game in my free time. Congrats you have so much time to game and I still think the game is awesome.
The best free to play game i have actually played was Lost Ark, i got 480 hours out of that game before it became a massive grind, but by that time i'd had enough of it anyway. It does have a cash shop but you can earn everything ingame if you just have a little patience. The gameplay is really good and the graphics and locations are awesome, its well worth a go if you haven't played it.
@@koko2274 Yes, POE was a great free game, but the only problem i had with it was the constant skill resets. I got sick of taking a little time off the game only to come back and have my character reset, and most of the time the skills had been changed so i couldn't rebuild my character. The game itself was amazing but it was just the resets i hated.
The button to take all the exclamation stuff goes against the purpose. They make you go through all the menus because they are training you to open the menus to get stuff while also tempting you with offers.
Been in the game for more than a month. Got to end game lvl 80 , going through dungeons. pretty decently equipped not a cent payed into game. As you progress and know your way around is not that much of p2w . Lots of people have stable income from auction house. Overall really good game and not thinking of changing it to Diablo.
I believe this video is outdated. I downloaded Undecember after watching this video in December. Needless to say I loved it and finished act 10. Basically the main story. Many of the issues in this video are no longer in game. You have 300 inventory slots. Your pet does pick stuff up. Getting a 5 sided rune is super easy. You can customize yourself well and custom color/shine your outfit for no money. You get so much free stuff that the rng/reroll mechanics are almost a non issue. The amount of drops and items you break down gives you loads of materials. Being in a guild helps. I made an archer and beat the campaign at level 66. At level 66 I do more damage than many level 100 players with paid stuff. I did not spend a penny.
For starters you are the reason i started playing mmos. That said, im more of a gameplay kind of guy and so i would try it if there wasnt the issue with the anti cheat so thank you!
GRIM DAWN! If you want to scratch your arpg itch until D4 I recommend it. It's a completely solo game, with a box price. It's not live service, it's a start to finish game with lots of replay ability to try different classes. I got it on sale on Steam for like 9$, and played 100 hours of it. Pretty worth it.
Been playing this for 120 hours and almost beat the last boss and actually likes to kill bosses without using resurrection scrolls just learning the attack pattern though you will die a certain times but enjoyable and love the story and how you build your character. btw I'm using lightning skills for mage, I'll pass on those poison elems I think it's for those who wants an easy play. Gotta subscribe you because I like how you make reviews.
Actually a great game. You won't realize the p2w stuff even till late late game. The first 10 acts are a content sink(of great gameplay) for 80-100 hrs and then you do maps and group raids at end game. The only thing you really have to pay for is the essence tab, which is basically like paying 10$ for a f2p game. Otherwise it's great, almost 300-400 hrs into it and I'm still having fun upgrading my character.
@@theseventhammer it really depends on how you take the game, cause so far this feels a bit like tower of fantasy , it is f2p, you can have fun being f2p, albeit with some headaches here and there, but definitely if you're not pvp ing it's not p2w unless of course you're into pvp and ignores the whole pve and story content the game provides then it is gonna be p2w
Worth noting for anyone who decides to try this game cuz of this video, it put a rootkit on my PC when I downloaded it that did not uninstall when the game was uninstalled. Had to go into file directories to find and remove it manually, and it kept me from playing a few other games until that was done.
You're another typical PC gamer. You know the life of PC gamers? They can't move out from the PC room for most of the days LOLZ which make their life super bad. These cross-platform games are GATEWAY to the freedom & these are future of gaming. I can play my game when I'm outside of home and complete against pc players but can you play Diablo 4 outside of your home? Too bad. Whenever you'll go outside you'll have to make a plan when you can return to play Diablo 4 again with friends, but I don't have to. Now get wrecked. Even TheLazyPeon had to suffer for staying on a room playing PC games for hours long which impacted his health & then he understood the problem so he had to change his daily routine. He gets paid for playing, obviously you don't.
I enjoy the game Completely free to play and the rank one on the Europe server is only stash purchased so even if you try to pay to win unless you have an idea of the game and discover a build that isn’t already made public your not doing better then anyone else lol
Its a fun game, if it did not have a mobile component people would be none the wiser. You can completely ignore the shop minus the storage tabs. it takes 15-20 hours to finish the campaign, after that you can decide if you wanna drop however much the stash tabs are for the mapping content / dungeon / raid grind.
@@unbeatable617 fair enough point, enough ppl do the same with WoW clones, but in the end they have pretty poor fanbase and the games are often fairly bad compared to their more popular counterparts. Could this game continue on like saying Runes of Magic has, sure, but does anyone really enjoy Runes of Magic, not really lol
Thanks for the input. If its anything like PoE, then it’s worth it. I completed PoE campaign without spending any money and felt bad afterwards, then i bought a cosmetic(cosmetics in PoE are ugly lol) and tabs to support the dev. Just downloaded Undecember today, wanna give it a go, cosmetics in this game actually looks good.
I have been having a blast the last 16 days or so of playing. I never thought I would say it, but I love that it is cross platform because I get to play it at work during down times and it plays pretty well on mobile. I did shell out some money for some Alchemy bench spots and the stash tabs. I consider the price of 70+ hours so far of solid gameplay. Price per hour is still there for me. I feel like, and this could be complete ignorance at the time of writing, that the pay aspects of the game is least egregious of any f2p mobile game I have ever played. Not high on copium. I really wish the gaming industry wasn't were it is right now, but I think the game is enjoyable and I feel I am getting my moneys worth.
Honestly I am enjoying this game. About 20-25 hours in already. I might hate it 25 hours later. But so far the build customization is so satisfying. This is like warframe level of customizations - it's super modular.
yeah after that time i hit the wall where i spent hours to make potions and upgrade eq in town not fun for me anymore but GL. i prefer games like grim dawn and if to go on mobile then steam desk or nintendo switch is better option than a phone.
@@jac6548 yeah i agree countless hours in grim dawn, titan quest, sacred etc and they are fun but not this garbage and lost ark wanna be game xD actuall fuck mobile arpg im going to have more fun in Guild Wars 2 /dancingmywayout
It may seem racist, but one reason I don't even want to try Asian games anymore is because from personal experience I feel they *ALWAYS* put flash over substance. Whatever I see in the game I just know it is this way for no other reason than to look fancy, instead of being based on something more meaningful/useful (or even worse, to get you to spend money). You know what someone should do to feed these people their own medicine? Open a restaurant where food is free or has an all-you-can-eat price tag, but then every little thing you do will cost you extra and waiters will keep pestering you every 5 minutes to buy another special deal. Sitting down? $5 extra. Want cutlery or chopsticks? Extra $$. Returning from the buffet and want to sit down again? Another sitting down fee. Drinks will cost per sip, food will be taken away again until you pay extra again, each seasoning will make it on the bill, bathroom visits will cost you..
There is actually an anti-cheat uninstaller now provided by the game, its in the description on the steam page. But tbh its very easy to delete the stuff off your PC by yourself, even the registry is straight forward.
You do have to spend $30 to $60 to play this game comfortably at end game. But everything else is alright, this no competition between players. If one can play at his own pace, this game is actually very fun. A lot of D2 vibe.
It's so funny reading people complaining about the root-level anti-cheat system while still playing Valorant, which has the exact same thing... Even requiring you to actually restart your computer before playing. (which i've never ever experienced with a game before).
Yeah I really like gear icons reflecting on the character. There is something about having that mismatched set at thr beginning and then getting your look with gear and the heartbreak of "well this has better stats but throws off my look!"
I played the Demo version and quickly realized that they aimed for a Path of Exile skill and gear system with maximum monetization. The Demo was tame in comparison with the full launch. And thanks for mentioning the AntiCheat in the Rootsytem nerver looked into that-
@@miloslavveselsky5330 If you open registry and delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\INCAInternet it should be gone.... or you use the uninstaller refered in the upper comment that you can find on the steam page.
I hope you can revisit this. I am currently so bored of D4, got to Level 100 in S1 and now haven't logged in for 4 days and don't intend to until S2 starts. Been looking at this game and apparently it has changed recently, so more f2p friendly. I am still a bit hesitant.
Was about to install this, but decided to see how it plays, and I was glad I did. I expected it to be a single player because Steam says nothing about it being an online ARPG, but then again, a F2P single player game? Riiight...
I'm going to start with I haven't played the game but ima just come out and say it your review on this game is trash.... you jumped into the game blind not knowing that it was a pc/mobile game which is a good thing and was enjoying it, but as soon as u saw that theirs a cash shop you changed your whole tone to immediately hating the game.... you then decided to say your going to give it the fair shake and play it despite knowing the game was going to screw u at some point... this right here was where you then already made up ur mind on the game before even playing it... you then decide that 4hours of gameplay was enough time to give a first impressions video, but instead of a first impressions video you gave a review that was judged based off a prediction and not off experiencing it first hand as 4hours of gameplay for sure isn't even close to the amount of time for a review... from watching your first impressions video your cons do not represent your experience playing as everything you said and did up intel you cut the games head off with ur cons list you didn't experience. you based ur cons list off a prediction. all because of the shop. is the shop a con hell yes it is. does the shop break the game who knows play it tell the game forces you to spend more then a triple A price game that ur willing to pay for 20hours of gameplay. i get it man i hate the new age cash shop games. but lets be real here no one has a problem spending 60 bucks for 20hours of gameplay for a triple A game but god for bid a company adds skins to the game or a little bit of qol shit for a few bucks here and there on a free game people go bat shit crazy about spending 20bucks in the store and call it p2w on a game they playing for free with 1000 hours played lmao. the way i see it games with cash shops give you a near infinite amount of hours you can put into the game with new content usually every 2-4weeks. i feel like every game that has content updates as such should all have some way of earning income to pay for such updates i just would like to see games not have any pay to win in the shop. skins, sub, inventory tabs. qol things even buying power isn't that big of a deal for me as long as that power can be achieved in game at a reasonable time frame then I'm good with it
To be honest undecember is decent. There is P2W don't get me wrong but you can actually go F2P for a good 100-150 hours before you "have" to buy a tab expansion for essences and then you can play for as long as you desire. So it has that going for it and one tab is probably what you will have to get to play path of exile as well or any other ARPG out atm. Other than that p2w only plays a role if you wanna compete with insane leaderboards which you still can as a F2P but you have to sink double to triple the hours to master boss mechanics to move on.
More like 5 tabs minimum for poe. 5 tabs being currency tab, essence tab, maps tab, fragment tab and 1 quad tab is the bare minimum if you don't want to stop playing after 3 weeks into the league
@@arifbykr4552 Yeah thats pretty much what i meant by undecember being decent in asking you to buy 1 to 2 tabs max. But they are more expensive but still as a 10 years now poe player i can say it aint much of an ask if the game gives you 200-300 hours of content for a tab.
I played the demo until level 20 and i really liked it. After it came out i had to start from the beginning and the early levels where not that fun that i really wanted to play them again. Also I have already the RNG hell called Lost Ark so no more Undecember for me. Its sad because the combat felt really nice.
@@ParadiceLost Yeah LoA can be really time consuming.. ^^ sorry for the late answer, didn't get a notification. I would lie if I say that I didn't spend money on LoA, but it was for cosmetics. Never felt that I have to pay for progress. Unlike with Undecember where everything seems monetized :/
i understand everyone's trauma from immortal but once you give undecember a bit of time you will realize it is a good game. power and progress is not locked behind a paywall but from grind. p2w is just an option to progress faster. they are also very generous with the events which makes you feel like you dont have to spend. the "create problems and sell solutions" thing is quite sad though its not that bad, you can sell a few of your stuff in the auction and use that currency for lets say, a month of autoloot.
I am abroad and I don't have access to my Gaming Rig. So If I want to game, it will be on my mobile. I am lvl 37 now and I am enjoying myself a lot! It's on a whole other lvl then Diablo Immortal. If you don't have a PC for some reason this is the game to play :)
Open your item reward boxes to unlock pet abilities. :) Getting and receiving rewards from your notice rewards give you for FREE. No need to spend any money. I only realized so many negative because of the paying money system. I agree on that. If we can just wait a few months more, the game will enhance. PC is way better than mobile in my preferences so that you have more control using your mouse and keyboard. It gives you a gaming experience when you are streaming in your gaming chair with your PC.
i downloaded this for my phone (didnt know it was on PC too). i dont have much time to sit and play a game like this on my phone, but here and there i'll have the urge and i think its a fun game. dont care about any of the monetization because 1) i know i wont cave, idc enough, and 2) i'll never get to a point where it matters anyways. i know i wont play it that much because of time and lack of desire to sit and game on my phone.
Great vid as always. But hey humble request - can we get a “my life as an MMO” update? I love those. Are you still in Pattaya on a student Visa? Thinking about moving there myself. Cheers.
When I have kids, The first games I'll let them play will be the games I played as a kid. They'll grow up knowing that full games were just good and fun, without needing to make you buy loot boxes, and develope gambling addictions.
If you learn how to effectively use auction Market system, you can start farming rubies without spending a single coin (rubies is a type of currency, they can only be bought with real money and can use to trade in auction market to give free players a chance) yes the game is p2w but I find that system a little bit forgiving and it doesnt punish free to play players that much so if you like to grind a lot, the p2w system of this game wont bother you that much except for the inventory slots
they took all of the great ideas and great details from the games you like and made it free for your phone tablet and pc. The monetization is something to be expected, I had enough fun that I gave the game $10 and it gave me a whole page in my storage dedicated to upgrade materials that can combine the materials for me and my personal inventory is basically a giant empty bag scooping loot. IMO, I hope everyone tries it for themselves regardless of this video. It seems that our friendly peon was shocked about the level of detail and mechanics of the game more than upset about the money part. There were a few times I wanted to jump into the video to explain something to peon 😅 I’m at lvl 55 and the money&fun have been an equal trade off. Also! I’m an adult with my bank account to I can afford a $10 purchase here n there(Not Monthly) and I can tell the difference between a game that corners me into giving them money and a game that simply sets a deal on the table for me to look at if I’m feeling froggy. If u think about it, there’s no Limited Time Only sales in UNDECEMBER where u buy something that month and something slightly better comes out the next holiday But only for a Limited Time! One thing I would give them all of my money for is to change the name of the game. It’s very hard to get my friends to listen to me after I say it
At the beginning of the video when you asked, Afraid of being alone this holiday season? I wasn't sure what you meant because you said the first sponsor. But when you said Raid Shadow, I literally laughed out loud 📢 in front of my entire family. You crack me up my friend. Keep it up. Also enjoyed the sparring session.
im f2p and playing like 2 to 3 hrs. on weekdays and longger in weekend. can actualy play it buy just buying the stash tabs all d way to endgame. just like poe .
I think is nice stuff is evolving, I do wish they offer battlepass, one time purchase instead of f2p with lots of p2w, I would not mind if it was microtransactions like cosmetics or boost, basically nothing like rng increase or gear and materials straight from the cash shop.
I played this for about 20h before stopping for no other reason than just not having time to put into it. It was definitely fun and I didn't spend any money. It's definitely worth a playthrough with your buddies. Wouldn't bother getting invested in online PvP because that's where P2W comes in.
remember when you can unlock the entire new game complete with new storyline, new weapon, new characters, new playstyle, within the game, without having to paid a single dime aside from the base game, and unlockable only by sheer effort and skills?
Faced with that Sword Wand or Bow decision. Your sentiment was literally verbatim what I said.. Well Hell.. They all kinda felt good. Eventually I took down a ranged Bow
i played it on PC for around 10 hours. i cant say anything about its cash shop but: this is not a normal ARPG.. it has mmo elements, similar to lost ark. combat is a bit clunky - so i went range (bow) - its fun-ish. got to level 28, the game is way too simple (might get more complicated when you level up) - but i didnt feel like wanting to level up more - that feeling for more is missing.. the way mobile games are built (arpgs) - the zones just feel empty and unchallenging.. a quest -> a map-> every ~10meters a pack-> sometimes a blue pack, sometimes a yellow champion.. but you dont feel like its a struggle.. like anything is dangerous and again, it just feels empty (lost ark suffers from this as well). from what i saw on youtube - its like D3 on consoles .. there is no mayhem , creature numbers are very low.. the game is still fun at its core but gets old fast. i got enough resources to max 1-4 skills , get some of my gear to yellow + the rolls i wanted (more or less) - i think its the way they devs planned - they want you to be on this "theme park" rail .. (im not saying gearing is easy.. i do see where this is going.. the "difficultly" to get specific items/runes will be super hard. but the simple stuff - you can get rather easily and the impact is - well you dont feel powerful when you get them) also, creep variety doesnt exists .. ive met very few mob types till act3.. and i havent seen any blue/rare doing anything we havent seen on other games (a minus but it also means the devs implemented stuff we like). i'd say, try it, if you like its simplicity - play. be careful not to be sucked into the shop with too much real money and stay as long as its fun.
I think its okay if the P2W aspects is only in PVP like in the Diablo Immortal. You still get to enjoy the story and hours of PVE gameplay for free which is awesome imo.
@@lonlycatmr9926That is right. most games are p2w for pvp gamers, but you're just a pve player f2p is completely fine. if you are pvp gamer then obviously you have to pay to win. simple.
I have a two things to say. he didnt upgrade or craft any weapons, etc till later on which is important I think also when he did it he didnt even read what he was doing and didnt learn the system at all and just ruined his items and you do have a dodge ability he just choose leap slam which is a more offensive movement ability. the game is fun but yes, the cash shop is HORRENDOUS
It's a good game. It's like Path of Exile. It's got good graphics, combat, etc. Please try the game before you leave based on the platforms lmao. It's just super laggy on mobile which is the only reason I'm not playing.
Peon intro: It's one of the mobile cross-platform games... so I know what you are thinking... yeah. Also Peon: RAID SHADOW LEGENDS. gotta make that paper haha love your vids mate.
I dislike the term Pay-to-Win. This game is more Play for leisure. You don't have to buy anything. I have 2000+ hours in it. And they have scaled back what you buy a lot. The game is the best ARPG out. 2 hours isn't enough time either. You need to clear episode 1. Enjoy the game is a massive blast and you have unlimited builds and creativity. Act 13 brings 10 new runes as well adding more builds and passives and all that. Enjoy! Its a misconception taht is a mobile game too. this game is a perfectly ported PC game to mobile. It is not a Diablo Immortal AT ALL.
Was banned for no reason today. Tried to contact support. After multiple attempts to hopefully log back into my guest account, was met with new player screen. All previous progress was lost. Deleting this game after leaving a well earned. I played with ps5 and ps4 controllers.
You did yourself a disservice with your preconceived notion mate. I play this on mobile and the only money I have spent is a single expansion for my storage and the monthly pet/walker perk. That figures out to 20 dollars for the storage and 14.99 for the pet ability, that's pretty much what I used to pay for my WoW subscription. The only things I have purchased on the auction house was with currency I earned selling on the auction house, and my character is head to toe legendaries with the only unique the grave robber kings belt for the massive drop rate bonus. The same also goes for my skills and links. Over two months I'm into the game less than 65 dollars and I'm competing with top rank characters. There is nothing in this game aside from some expanded storage that you can't get by just playing it, and it's not even that difficult. I think a better term for this game would be pay to be lazy, unlike Diablo and Torchlight you really don't need to spend money to enjoy every aspect of this game.
11:52 About this. There is a dodge mechanic. It's 3 different types. Your standard ordinary dodge roll with reasonable iFrames. A quick step with snappier movement but less iFrameq and last but not least as also my favorite of the trio, a teleport with magic similar to your blink or Vergil type stylish nonsense. The teleport is my favorite for how flashy it is but it's also the one with the least iFrames but the most raw travel distance as equal compensation.
The more you evolve in this game the better it gets. Never expected it to better than Poe and LE. And i paid for LOE, while it's still a good game tho. Undecember is just another thing. It's wonderful.
Main Story can be played completly free, storage becomes a nessisary purchase for end game. Anti cheat is a common Korean Anti cheat. It CAN be uninstalled. Can't think of any MMOs that dont have an anti cheat. Seems silly to call it malware.
A rootkit embeds itself into your system registry, even when you're not running the game. It constantly monitors changes in your system and hogs up resources, slowing down your PC. If you install this game, your PC will be slower permanently, even when not running the game or playing other games.
@Jk I'm not saying games shouldn't have anti-cheat; they should. It's that a rootkit anti-cheat is a horrible idea. It slows your PC and runs even when you're not playing the game. It also looks at every file you download and anything you do or change on your PC. It's malware because it does the same things malware does; track your actions and slow your PC, it's just malware typically slows your PC and re-directs you to a fake anti-virus to get rid of itself for money.
I tried this for a while as a f2p player, and it's an "ok" arpg, but it's very limited in skills so you start to feel bored real quick after realizing you can't combine some things to others even when it feels logical. For example, the spinning ability is a "movement" skill, so you can't combine it to all the spells and attacks that "doesn't allow movement". Very dumb move made by the developers. The panic about the rootkit is overrated imo. It's the best way to prevent hackers/cheaters to play the game, and usually I'm questioning people who complain about it to much. Wondering what they have on their computer that's sensitive to know about. Meanwhile, all these people complaining, also complain about EAC for not being safe enough, so I mean... You can still remove it from the computer. And laws prevent the owners of the rootkit anticheat to gather any information outside of the game, so people just need to chill and clean their illegal dirt off their computers.

RAID SHADOW LEGENDS
Oh no..
Well i'm not the one who is throwing money at that type of game which is pretty much like a virtual casino.

you mean the time when company put misleading or vague box art so you have no clue what the heck in the game unless it is one of the game you saw from magazine?
the time where there is no instant patch so if your early copy is buggy, you may have to buy another "definite" edition with the same price later?
or what about all those gimmick game's control that make you unable to play the game without them like duck hunt's gun, power pad, power glove and so on? which a lot of time they don't even work right.
Love it when ppl make videos shitting on games with monetization while also having a 2-minute ad about a mobile game focused on monetization.
I think it's actually a good idea to try out games completely blind, theres no way you wouldve gotten as good of a first impression if you knew exactly what was coming, which makes the dissappointment of discovering the mobile mechanics and giga-cashshop all the more honest.
Good review.
I just look at reviews nowadays that I don't even do blind runs, but you just change my mind about it.
@@Asian_Bon the pushback against them would be much more intense and impactful if everyone who complains about them had the disappointment themselves as their personal feeling instead of the currently I'd say 30% of complainers who actually tried any given title and the 70% just parroting the "drama".

Looking at blizzard track record from past few years, suggests that waiting for diablo 4 with high expectations might be a big mistake.
Sorry, friend.
why bring that up? this isn't a blizzard game. mobile games have horrible monetization models - full stop.
@@a_lost_one Other than the story, which is only going to enhance the game judging by past Diablo games (including Immortal), what makes my experience incomplete?Every system that will be rolled out at launch was subject to testing.

Few things to say:
- The endgame will downright force you to at least spend cash on storage space.
(Maxing out storage space and 1 battle pass)
I'd say for the roughly 100 hours of gameplay it gave me (which was good! the combat IS good! the rune system IS good!) it was worth the 60 bucks.
Haven't touched the game in weeks though. Because the load of the previously mentioned annoyances far surpass the enjoyment.
Here's to hoping PoE gets its shit together and the december expansion will be magnitudes better than whatever clusterfuck Lake of Kalandra was...
Same with path of exile , I need to pay real money for more storage space. But overall very ftp friendly.
Try Last Epoch. The game is insanely good and it's just an early access.
Thanks
The character creation actually lets you customise your face. It's on the left side of the screen which I think you missed.
I played almost 100h, didn't spent a penny so far and having a great time.
The only thing I am tempted to buy is the stash tab for the crafting materials. Besides, there isn't really much you can buy that you won't get by simply playing the game.
path of exile i bought stash tabs i mean it's a free game after all
what do you expect ? they need to get their money eitherway so i don't see any wrong doing in spending some money into it
if you buy a game you also spend 40-60 €
Except those flashy Korean outfits
Even better at end game, because you only have so big of a tray to put all your runes, a lot of optimization.
Hi i want to play this game can you tell me which character is best rang mele or nay other.?
Yeah no it doesn't lol just go play Poe. Yove been playing for a month and you're level 47 I have 3 characters at 60 or higher in Poe in a month lmao
@Shahzad Adil sorry for late reply you can take your character any direction the main class won't matter in end game
How about path of exile?
You just made me download it. I genuinely hope the game has improved.

Sitting down? $5 extra. Want cutlery or chopsticks? Extra $$. Returning from the buffet and want to sit down again? Another sitting down fee.

ohh man! Craig is looking like a unit these days! awesome stuff dude. looking good!
I'm going to start with I haven't played the game but ima just come out and say it your review on this game is trash.... you jumped into the game blind not knowing that it was a pc/mobile game which is a good thing and was enjoying it, but as soon as u saw that theirs a cash shop you changed your whole tone to immediately hating the game.... you then decided to say your going to give it the fair shake and play it despite knowing the game was going to screw u at some point... this right here was where you then already made up ur mind on the game before even playing it... you then decide that 4hours of gameplay was enough time to give a first impressions video, but instead of a first impressions video you gave a review that was judged based off a prediction and not off experiencing it first hand as 4hours of gameplay for sure isn't even close to the amount of time for a review... from watching your first impressions video your cons do not represent your experience playing as everything you said and did up intel you cut the games head off with ur cons list you didn't experience. you based ur cons list off a prediction. all because of the shop. is the shop a con hell yes it is. does the shop break the game who knows play it tell the game forces you to spend more then a triple A price game that ur willing to pay for 20hours of gameplay. i get it man i hate the new age cash shop games. but lets be real here no one has a problem spending 60 bucks for 20hours of gameplay for a triple A game but god for bid a company adds skins to the game or a little bit of qol shit for a few bucks here and there on a free game people go bat shit crazy about spending 20bucks in the store and call it p2w on a game they playing for free with 1000 hours played lmao. the way i see it games with cash shops give you a near infinite amount of hours you can put into the game with new content usually every 2-4weeks. i feel like every game that has content updates as such should all have some way of earning income to pay for such updates i just would like to see games not have any pay to win in the shop. skins, sub, inventory tabs. qol things even buying power isn't that big of a deal for me as long as that power can be achieved in game at a reasonable time frame then I'm good with it
completely agree
After it came out i had to start from the beginning and the early levels where not that fun that i really wanted to play them again. i understand everyone's trauma from immortal but once you give undecember a bit of time you will realize it is a good game. power and progress is not locked behind a paywall but from grind. p2w is just an option to progress faster. they are also very generous with the events which makes you feel like you dont have to spend. the "create problems and sell solutions" thing is quite sad though its not that bad, you can sell a few of your stuff in the auction and use that currency for lets say, a month of autoloot.

There were a few times I wanted to jump into the video to explain something to peon 😅
I’m at lvl 55 and the money&fun have been an equal trade off.
Damn the I felt the emotional damage of the most word of "most games that release are gonna be like this" 😢
What does the anti-cheat do and why do you have to uninstall it?
im f2p and playing like 2 to 3 hrs. on weekdays and longger in weekend. can actualy play it buy just buying the stash tabs all d way to endgame. just like poe .
Ppl talking about monetization are funny...it's not charity lol the devs got to be payed and keep servers running
Just wanted to say, looking good peon : ) Love watching your videos mates.
its like they took POE which isnt pay to win and said oh yess we can fix that!
so, getting back to the final question: can u get to the level from the beginning as f2p?
Yo first time I noticed your weightless. Great work!
I can't download this to steam now... Where to get it? TIA! 😄
I think is nice stuff is evolving, I do wish they offer battlepass, one time purchase instead of f2p with lots of p2w, I would not mind if it was microtransactions like cosmetics or boost, basically nothing like rng increase or gear and materials straight from the cash shop.
hi a morris here, keep up the good vids
Hello Morris 🤝
I played this for about 20h before stopping for no other reason than just not having time to put into it. It was definitely fun and I didn't spend any money. It's definitely worth a playthrough with your buddies. Wouldn't bother getting invested in online PvP because that's where P2W comes in.
remember when you can unlock the entire new game complete with new storyline, new weapon, new characters, new playstyle, within the game, without having to paid a single dime aside from the base game, and unlockable only by sheer effort and skills?
Yeah, in a game you pay for. Not a free to play garbo game. You get what you pay for
Faced with that Sword Wand or Bow decision. Your sentiment was literally verbatim what I said.. Well Hell.. They all kinda felt good. Eventually I took down a ranged Bow
i played it on PC for around 10 hours.
i cant say anything about its cash shop but:
this is not a normal ARPG.. it has mmo elements, similar to lost ark.
combat is a bit clunky - so i went range (bow) - its fun-ish.
got to level 28, the game is way too simple (might get more complicated when you level up) - but i didnt feel like wanting to level up more - that feeling for more is missing..
the way mobile games are built (arpgs) - the zones just feel empty and unchallenging.. a quest -> a map-> every ~10meters a pack-> sometimes a blue pack, sometimes a yellow champion.. but you dont feel like its a struggle.. like anything is dangerous and again, it just feels empty (lost ark suffers from this as well). from what i saw on youtube - its like D3 on consoles .. there is no mayhem , creature numbers are very low..
the game is still fun at its core but gets old fast. i got enough resources to max 1-4 skills , get some of my gear to yellow + the rolls i wanted (more or less) - i think its the way they devs planned - they want you to be on this "theme park" rail .. (im not saying gearing is easy.. i do see where this is going.. the "difficultly" to get specific items/runes will be super hard. but the simple stuff - you can get rather easily and the impact is - well you dont feel powerful when you get them)
also, creep variety doesnt exists .. ive met very few mob types till act3.. and i havent seen any blue/rare doing anything we havent seen on other games (a minus but it also means the devs implemented stuff we like).
i'd say, try it, if you like its simplicity - play. be careful not to be sucked into the shop with too much real money and stay as long as its fun.
Peon, are you still playing lost ark.. haven't seen any vids of it with you for a while now
any auto walk or auto attack? that usually makes me not play the game. also, can you turn off the damage number?
I think its okay if the P2W aspects is only in PVP like in the Diablo Immortal. You still get to enjoy the story and hours of PVE gameplay for free which is awesome imo.
Yeah it's a nice game
@@lonlycatmr9926That is right. most games are p2w for pvp gamers, but you're just a pve player f2p is completely fine. if you are pvp gamer then obviously you have to pay to win. simple.
I have a two things to say.
he didnt upgrade or craft any weapons, etc till later on which is important I think also when he did it he didnt even read what he was doing and didnt learn the system at all and just ruined his items and you do have a dodge ability he just choose leap slam which is a more offensive movement ability.
the game is fun but yes, the cash shop is HORRENDOUS
Right at the beginning, i heard PC and Mobile Crossplay.... still show LazyPeon some love as a like and then have my leave here x)
So it's built to rip you off at every turn?
There needs to be MASSIVE and super strict legal action against the current unregulated mobile gaming. This is insane.
Pso2 base and new genesis literally has the same anti-cheat
@Jk the absolute state of modern gaming where people are somehow ok with games installing malware on your PC and say shit like this to defend it.
