SHOWTIME, STORYTIME is out now worldwide via Nuclear Blast Records.
Directed by Ville Lipiäinen.
What better way to conclude the year as to recapture one of its outstanding highlights by revisiting Finnish Symphonic Metal legends NIGHTWISH taking the likewise legendary Wacken Open Air by storm? After being decorated with triple platinum status in Finland as well as gold status in numerous European countries (Germany, Switzerland, Poland, among others) for their most current studio masterpiece »Imaginaerum« and following the highly successful release of their very own fantasy motion picture »Imaginaerum by Nightwish«, the band is closing in its cycle of the `Imaginaerum World Tour´ with a festival triple -- Wacken Open Air being the first of those final shows. The `Imaginaerum World Tour´ 2013-2013 visited in 34 countries, consisted of 104 shows with total audience attendance of over 1,5 million fans.
And what would be a better way to celebrate the grand finale as to capture the entire show at Wacken Open Air -- the world's biggest heavy metal festival -- for a live DVD/Blu-ray? The live show in the front of 85 000 screaming metalheads was directed by Ville Lipiäinen, filmed with seventeen cameras and has a total duration of 85 minutes.
Mastermind and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen states:
"The time has come soon to wrap up the magical & memorable one-and-a-half year `Imaginaerum World Tour´ 2012-2013! We still have three shows left, one of them being at the legendary Wacken Open Air Metal Festival on the 3rd of August. This show will be something extra special, since it will be released later this year on DVD/Blu-ray, together with a massive `Imaginaerum World Tour´ 2012-2013 documentary. Our darling flying Dutchwoman, Floor Jansen, has been nothing but incredible during her time in Nightwish on this tour, so this is a perfect opportunity to immortalize the current vibe of the band on film! "
The second disc consists of 120-minute tour documentary 'Please Learn The Setlist in 48 Hours', with no short of drama or overall madness. Also, there is a 16-minute NIGHTWISH Table Hockey Tournament, filmed on tour. On top of this there are two music clips: 'I want my tears back' (Live at Hartwall Arena) and 'Ghost Love Score' (Live in Buenos Aires).
In one the first interviews with Tuomas, a few month after Floor replaced Anette, he says that Floor makes the songs harder and more metal, because of her powerful voice and stage presence, and that gave them new inspiration and positive thoughts. She wasn't just a replacement - the songs changed, and the band with them. 6 awesome people in sync, ready to concur the world - and they did 🤘🤘🤘🤘
you should check this out its when they asked Floor to fill in in the middle of the North American tour "NIGHTWISH -"PLEASE LEARN THE SETLIST IN 48 HOURS"
Well, that explains why she forgot the latter part of the second verse.
This is one of her first concerts with Nightwish! I don't think she knew this song by heart yet. But she did such a good job.
Whaat you haven’t seen the ”Please learn the setlist in 48 hours” documentary? 🥺 Wholeheartedly recommended!
Yes i agree, but watch out! Caution! Wet floor!
Well, imo your band could make a good cover to this song. It mostly fit your style..
I was there at the Seattle Show! Floor did a great job that night and learned the entire set in just 48 hrs. She was not nearly as polished, of course...but her raw talent and power on all the songs was apparent and the band did great.
In the beginning it says, that this was Floor's first gig with Nightwish, in Seattle. If that is the case, she had been in the Netherlands, 48 hours before that, taking a sabatical peroid, due to burnout...
And then, THIS performance?????
She can't be human. She must be the goddess of vocals, for sure.
To be fair, she had been doing festivals and venues with them with her own band, for several years proceeding this. They all knew each other, Tuomas knew she was familiar with the Nightwish catalogue. Also, she just is THAT talented.
@@SandraNelson063 The thing is, that herself-confidence, as a vocalist, was at an extreme low. So both, Nightwish and Floor, mutually saved each other.
She's a Valkyrie remember. 🤣
@SteveNL Yes, that's true. However, she did know the guys, she had some idea of the older music. She must have been fighting her way out of the depression when Tuomas called her out of the blue... ( So, um, doing anything special this weekend? No? Hmmmm. Wanna come tour America? Come on, it'll be fun!" ) And the burn out must have cleared up quick. She absorbed the new music in very little time. Believe me, I've dealt with depression and mental exhaustion before, you can't learn anything when you're brain is fried. I think she was ready, just waiting for the right opportunity to jump back in the shark infested waters . And then Tuomas called.
Imaginaerum World Tour 1/19 / 12 to 8 / 11 / 13. 104 concerts. This footage is from the Documentary " Please Learn The Set List In 48 Hours ". It is the story of how Floor and the band came together. You SHOULD watch it, a ton of insight on the band. Sooooo Good !
Damn thats a cool video :D Great find.......... "Learn the setlist in 48 hours" is worth a watch (same period) If you can find a good footage Slow love slow is awesome too (Jazz style)
Hey have you none Shoemaker yet, the one paying homage to the scientist Eugene Shoemaker....its awesome
YES! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO REACT TO THIS! THIS SONG GOT ME INTO NIGHTWISH AND PARTLY GOT ME INTO METAL
Floor❤.... What a creature omg
Twenty five shows in twenty eight days. Not only is that taxing on the band, but imagine being part of the crew that has to build the stage, set up all of the lighting, the sound gear, etc, then take it down after a few hours, drive for hours to the next arena, set it all up again, take it down, drive to the next arena, over and over again. When do they sleep? I think I would definitely prefer to wear myself out on stage night after night instead.
28 days for 25 shows, and Annete was pregnant at the time.... Can we seriously blame her for being worn out?? Thank God they handled Floor's pregnancy way better...
In the end it all worked out for the best though, Annete has a beautiful healthy son, a new band that's awesome. by the way, and Nightwish is at the top of their game with Floor!
I watched the Decades tour from the balcony of our venue, and by the time we got down to the floor(no pun intended) the light scaffolding was down and gone, cases were lining up, and by the time we got done looking at merch, the stage was empty and the rolling cases were lined up at the door> Nightwish pretty much handles everything themselves, including catering, and they are REALLY good at it!
The end of a era one is good as well 👍
Lot of Alcohol? Well, in Finland we need fuel to survive!
Work hard, party hard. Flush the stress away with adult beverages. :)
Thank's..this was fun to watch.
The original version with Tarja is also amazing, more operatic vocals which IMO fit the song, but Floor killed it specially considering it was her first concert with the band
You guys have got to checkout this song from the End Of An Era concert featuring Tarja!!!
25 shows is at least 500 windmills for floor in 28 days .tornado alert.
I like how Tuomas does his keyboard solo with pieces of older Nightwish songs such as Gethsamane. I can't recall the other song bits he pieced in. Fun song though!
I enjoyed that too! I think the first song bit is 'stargazers' (one of my favourite songs) right before 'gethsamane' :) I think there's at least a third song though that I can't place right now
Thank you for sharing that video of nightwish I got Floored again and became closer to nightwish
25 shows in four weeks is...Planet Hell.
That's cute , brother and sister In a band and doing reactions. Love it. You guys look so much alike.
Here you can see Floor is nervous just before going on stage, no wonder, the 1st performance with Nightwish. For example in Tampere 2015 she was not nervous just before going on stage altough it was a special concert because it was in Finland, and I think Floor especially wanted to be at her very best.
Floor was so insecure, at this time. She was on a sabatical period, due to burnout, when the call came and she had to pack, travel and learn the setlist, within 48 hours... That makes her performance here so remarkable. As I already wrote often enough. She saved Nightwish and iNghtwish saved her.
This is one of the few songs I prefer Tarja in, but Floor sounds really good too! ^^
Euh, this was Floor's first or one of the first performances with NW, give her a break! She hardly knew the song.
@@Harolddespui I Didn't say it was horrible. I actually love both of them, I just prefer Tarja's version a little more! =)
Me too...this one and 'ever dream'
Please guys react to " Bittersweet by Apocalyptica feat. Ville Valo & Ylauri Ylönen ❤🤘
The behind the scenes is from a docu which is online. Floor had toearn the set in 48 hours. Before she joined they had a show where Alissa and elize ryd joined. Very cool docu.
BTW rockerNL. He is from the same country. So hey rocker. Hoe gaat het.
You guys should do some arch enemy. Like nemesis 2016 wacken
Dead eyes see no future.
And definitely kataklysm - the killshot and to appreciate drummers kill the elite.
Also. Lamb of God - ruin. And especially the drum break in the middle.
Amon amarth - jomsviking
Amon amarth - every song from 2004 till now.
I unfortunately see way too little heavy stuff.
Oow cradle of filth. And not the corny nymphetamine fix...
Cruelty and the beast
Dusk and her embrace
And stuff from their latest album.
So much to do :)
Ja gaat lekker met jou??? btw ik heb al een paar keer arch enemy geprobeerd maar ze worden elke keer geblokt
Tarja original but one of first songs Floor learned from that era
Crazy Fact, Anette (Nightwish singer during that tour) left the stage in the middle of a gig in tears, and Nightwish had to bring Floor Jansen as an emergency back up vocalist and made her learn the whole setlist in 48 hours to continue the rest of the tour, theres'a video docummenting the whole process, hence that tension and nerves in their faces at 1:50. It was their first show with her.
No it was Dark Passion Play Tour. Was it in Brasil or Argentina when audience shouted Tarja's name and showed middle finger.
Hi, Good To See You Again. Great Piece Of History Huh? Keep Rockin Us! Peace!
I LOVE Floor, she is my favorite Nightwish singer by far, but I like this song better with Tarja, as one of the few
can i just say...WOW..THOSE DRUMS!!! jeez.. always a soft spot for the drummer..and can you imagine being a roadie for them..jeez... but I love Nightwish and thank you for your reactions!! you guys always make me laugh
Hard music , hard party,
This was a real treat, thank you!
Holy crap, I didn't know there was a Floor version of this. This and I Wish I Had an Angel are my two favourite Tarja era songs. This is probably the first Tarja song ai have heard where I preferred Tarjas version, but in saying that, she just joined the band, I wanna hear a modern day version. So happy you covered this though, makes me happy!
well, there are far more crazy behind the scenes ^^ the guys where wild 😂
awesome video thanx to react this one rockernl rulez :) have great day there and exiting tomorrow :)
If you check this with Tarja, End of an Era tour, Jukka starts this with an awesome drum intro. It's here too, but more quiet, Marko speaks on top of it. I find it more electrifying when you only hear Jukka alone.
Same, love Floor but the original to this is insane
This world ain't ready for The Ark
Save yourself a penny for the ferryman
Save yourself and let them suffer | still one of the best lyrics ever
Love your reaction!
Listen to the Tarja version from the end of an era!
Yep yep, they're crazy when touring. Though I think Epica has them beat for touring craziness... I mean, when touring was a thing.
As for this video, did you know this was one of the first shows they did with Floor, when she came help them out urgently when Anette was in the hospital and then booted out of the band? And Floor was just beginning to get better after a burn-out that too. I'm sure everyone has already told you this, but... "Please Learn the Setlist in 48 Hours". Watch it.
Planet hell live in End Of An Era Pleasse!!!
This is one where there is good footage of all 3 singers performing it.
You should check out the Denver Debacle documentary.
murders on my mind
fun fact 4:29 floor screwed up lyrically for the whole verse, but they still made a video out of it because i guess floor is just that awesome haha
i seat opposite Marco on train, but too tired/drunk to speak.Hello from Finland
Tendra buena voz Floor eso sin duda pero prefiero a Tarja en esos temas que son propios de ella
Pozdro z Polski ✌️😉
Tara's era is for tarja only
How I miss Jukka's drumming!
Check out Planet Hell with Tarja!
Yes! Tarja live version of this song is outstanding
Fucking agree.. As much as I love floor, tarja song are planet Hell, siren, over the hills and far away, kingslayer, bless the Chile, phantom of. The opera, whish master, whish I had anAngel... The rest y love floor versiones, but these are unbeatable
Video with Tarja is 10000 times better
Por que no reaccionan a las versiones originales con Tarja, me gusta Floor pero prefiero cada quien con sus canciones
You don´t know Finnish boys yet, that alcohol was just for one or two days for.
I know I´m a native Finnish. We are thirsty...
Listen this to toi singing Tarja turunen
Listen this to Tarja singing
In a way I'm disappointed that you didin't check Tarja's version of this one.... So much power!!
Nope....End of an Era version please
You REALLY NEED TO HEAR Planet Hell with TARJA much better!!!😀👍👍👍👍
У Тарьи лучше эта песня звучит!
This reactions is more as "a woke reaction" thanks for the inside for the touring live.
tarja is gone in 2005 , stop it , get over it .
Gee, I thought it would be from End Of An Era! :(
With Tarja.... Best...
Planet Hell. Tarja & Marko.
This song sounds better with tarja. But floor did great.
Floor also does it much better, now. But either is a pleasure, IMO.
This was litterary Floor's first performance with NW, hardly knewing the song, shaking of nerves, and then you come to judge her? Give her a break man.
End of an era tarja was way better
This was also Floor's first show with them ps incredibly not incredible
Floor is a good singer, but this song not for her, I prefer always the version of tarja 🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰
*Well, I'm a Nightwish fan almost from the beginning, and there are songs, where I still prefer the studio versions with Tarja [like "Sleeping Sun", "Ever Dream", "Dark Chest Of Wonders", "Nemo"]......same thing with e.g. "Amaranth", where I still prefer the studio version with Anette....but there are also songs, where the Floor versions are almost as good as the studio versions ["Storytime"] or ,imho, better.....like "Ghost Love Score"....there are various tastes...*
Saved 6 minutes of my time by leaving the Video, when Floor began to sing...
Take your floor phobic comments elsewhere
Pathetic.
I have the same but for me it's when Tarja or Anette comes on stage, i'm out.
