Thank you Charlie. 👏👍✌️
Merci, je suis ravie que la série vous plaise. 😊
Really is a thoroughly entertaining series.
Amazed at all the WW2 tanks along the roads as monuments.
Postings like this will really expand your channel.
Can't wait for the next one.
Thank you 😊 Please feel free to share the channel with anyone you think may also enjoy it. 😊
No wonder you've reached over 11k subs in a relatively short time... this is damn good filming and creative editing... love it. Interesting and compelling to watch, with a good choice of music that compliments the scene.
Thank you! It is definitely a work in progress that is very time consuming to get right, but I am pleased people are enjoying it. 😊
Beautiful video of the Normandy countryside and such an atmospheric section on Sword Beach! Really enjoying this series and looking forward to the next episode! 👏👏👏
Thank you and I'm glad you're enjoying the series. 😊
You do need JASO spec engine oil as you have a wet clutch
My late Father Landed on Sword
Beach in 1944 .
Very fitting that a paramedic is looking after the 'blood' in her engine! Another fabulous video Charlie 🤗
Thank you John. 😊
Keyifli bir gezi teşekkürler.
Thank you 😊
A great series of your trip Charlie, very laid back and informative, thanks for sharing 😊, brilliant
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Hey Charlie, what a great trip you're having😃. Lots to see and do.
Quite a hike to Mont St Michel but really worth it for the views, sea breeze and seagulls willing to share your lunch🤣
I always try to visit war memorials/ cemeteries and I always find it a very emotional experience. We should always remember the sacrifices made in the name of freedom by the brave men and women who fought so we can be free.!!
Can't wait for the next installment.
Stay safe and enjoy every minute 🏍️😊
Thank you Paul, I had such a fabulous time. 😊
Great trip looking forward to next episode, thank you gor making them.
Glad you enjoyed it. 😊
I'd forgotten what it feels like to bimble around the French countryside in summer, and this brings it all back! Need to plan a trip!
Do it ☺️
And this Is How France is
Not Riots Everywhere that have
Been on the News
I have motorcycled all over France
Over the Years always found
The French Friendly ( can be a little
Abrupt). They Love La Moto
Charlie will Return and Plunge
Further South to the pyrenees..🏔⛰️
I am catching up the videos as I was on hollyday in Corsica (gorgeous island, motorcycle paradise) and so I just watched your tour of the Mont Saint-Michel, I visited it several times, first time when I was 15 with school, then afterwards I met a guy who had a farm in Pontorson (that's where the road to the Mont starts) and been there almost every year for 10 years, and the Mont Saint Michel always fascinated me, so much history, ans Saint-Michel is also the patron saint of the parachutists and I still wear his medal around my neck for over 45 years now. The whole area is very lovely, lots of things to see and do.
It is such a beautiful area to ride. 😊
Hi Charley Dave-in-France here. Great video as always but I particularly like the way you interlaced the poppy fields with the b&w wartime pictures - very poignant.
Thank you, I wanted to be respectful as well as cinematic. It was very humbling.
Brilliant.
The garage where you bought the oil broke my Visa card in 1986 on a tour through there. It was the only card I had then, thankfully NatWest sent me some money. In those days there was a superb camp site and cabins on the landward side of the Mont St Michel causeway.
Blimey that must have been awkward!
Normandy was so cool, thanks for sharing it's such a great adventure 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Excellent filming Charlie. Liking the overlays at Sword beach.
Thank you 😊
Another excellent video Charlie makes me want to pack saddle bags and get going stay staff 🏍x
You should! 😊
Riding the small backroads. I love that too!
Me too. 😊
Great video Charlie well done ride save look forward to the next episode ❤
Thank you 😊
Charlie your vids are fantastic, they are a lovely reminder of why we go back over there every couple of years ! You pretty much did our route in reverse re : oradour, wheels and waves and carcassonne ! We went clockwise south over the Millau viaduct and across the south of France to thw Pyrenees ! Just love being abroad, red wine and the wrong side of the road just go hand in hand 🤣 maybe catch you on the other side ! Stay safe and good trips.......🏍
Thank you Peter. I had such a lovely time. 😊
Fabulous video Charlie, the furthest I manage these days is off the bike and into cafe/pub (Emphysema/Heart Disease. So it's great to see some of the places people like yourself visit as I can't manage them myself. Thank You XX
I'm glad you're enjoying the series Christopher. 😊
Awesome bud cheers 👍🏻
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hehe, We were there on bikes like 4 weeks ago...😁 Normandie and Mont Sant Michel - nice trip. Greets from Warsaw!
Hi , glad you enjoyed it. 😊
I would use the beeline to navigate to various tracks in England on my 765 rs when doing trackdays. It’s perfect for popping on and off the handlebars quickly.
Well done Charlie. Another interesting motovlog! On the oil front, ANY oil is better than no oil at all. Then being picky about exactly the "Grade" does have its place but you were close enough to no make a difference with the use you are putting Roger to! The "SKI RUN" Toilet section brought me back to the 1990s, at least the one you showed was clean! 😂😂.
Thank you 😊
Thank you 😊
Very nice video series Charlie - you are very compelling to watch! Keep it going! 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
It was bugging me when the orchestra music play during the beach rocks scene... It come to me.. It's orchestra copy of rocky balboa theme.. 😊
Great enjoyable video Charlie, it's nice to see some of the french countryside...well done,
Thanks 👍
@@restdayrider I'm located in Australia and not likely to be able to visit your part of the world, so it's great to watch your vids....last video I asked about your pacsafe...I bought one as I can see a practical use of it...
👋 just found u nice trip I’ve Ben there I use to live in France so a lot of travel ride safe cars don’t care for bikes
Thank you for this splendid video of St MIckael Mont. You showed well the Middle Age impression we have when we climb the many steps of the village.
And you showed well the huge (pharaonic ?) works they have done for that the Mount become an island again.
By the way : what you called "french toilets" in France we call them... "turkich toilets"...🙂
Many thanks! 😊
visited that yrs ago . I believe the same gadge knocked up Marazion near Penzance.
Really enjoying this series on your trip to France.
Thanks 😊
Hi Charlie
My Dad fought at sword beach, excellent filming , with the war insert clips you had me in tears 😢. Unfortunately I lost my dad last year age 96. Thanks for the great content 😊
So sorry to hear of your loss. X
Hiya Charlie another great video on all your adventures 👍👍 you've gone from strength to strength since day one
Thank you. 😊
Really enjoying your adventure, Charlie! Props for riding a Himi! That was my first bike that I bought back in early '21. Great little workhorse for what it is. Yes, they burn oil so I started carrying a little extra on my trips. I visited Normandy back in 2019. What an amazing trip! Spent most of the time in the Omaha Beach and surrounding areas focused on the WWII sites and such. I would love to go back and do it on a motorcycle. Cheers!
I would definitely go back and do the other Normandy beaches. 😊
Michel may be feminine in France. Love your solitary tour without buddies excellent! Advise that tent, do not use in windy conditions they are useless and flap about so at night sleeping may only be optional, I gave mine away after one season and now use a geodesic tent which packs smaller and wind is now not a problem. Good luck on your tours.
I'm giving it a full on test soon with the NC500. 😊
I’ve been to all the DDay beaches many times. Sword beach in particular. La breche is the place my father landed (Ted Pritchard 3 troop, no 3 commando) you can park almost on the beach. I was there on my motorbike, beginning of May. If you go again, look for the statue of piper Bill Millin exact spot no 3 commando came ashore.
I'll remember that for next time, I imagine I'll be back. 😊
A another enjoyable vlog Charlie really enjoying this mini series ❤
Glad you enjoy it! 😊
Good morning Charlie . Thanks for taking us along on your trip , Roger is such a reliable companion .
He truly is. 😊
Hi, I'm new subscriber, and enjoy your day and channel. Regards from Portugal. Take care and ride safe ✌️😎
Thank you and welcome to the channel. 😊
Great trip Charlie, brings back memories of my trips in Europe on a suzuki GS750 back in the early nineties. I especially liked the sword beach piece interspersed with period photos and that poppy field. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it John.
Brilliant video Charlie and so well filmed and put together as usual. Thank you for taking us through Mont St Michael, an awesome place for sure. I’ve been to France many times but fortunately never come across those ‘hole in the ground’ toilets but knew they existed. It’s really cool that Jay has now joined you too. Really looking forward to the next instalment.
Thank you 😊
Up in Lochcarron, Johnny cash duo, 2 neet.
Left Bumble and Rebelene, back home in garage, as it’s been piss’in doon.
Trip looks good, stay safe.
Good trip! 😊
Brilliant series loving it. Just a note bike oil is different to car to do with the clutch.
I was just about to put that up as well, then read comments and found yours, let’s hope her clutch doesn’t start slipping.
I always carry a 500mil container of oil when doing a long ride and usually I am not the person who uses it. Your posts are getting better all the time
Thank you. 😊
Just love the sound of that engine! Sooooooo relaxing.
Enjoying your trip, I remember my first time, I was getting names wrong and parking a long way away and walking to places. I did chuckle when you called it Mont st (micheal) not michel. (Mee-shell).
Would love to know your route as I would have loved so inside info from people on places to see.
I try and include a pic of the route on most journeys. 😊
Brillient videos, go Roger, I have got to get some touring done in Europe
I highly recommend it. , 😁
I'm enjoying the series thank you
That's not a bus, that's a sideboard on wheels. 🤣... Thanks for taking us along for the ride with you Charlie.
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Great video as always well done Charlie
Thank you 😊
Another great vid Charlie... Loving this series.
Glad to hear it! 😊
How cool!! It’s me in your vlog. ❤
Where abouts? 😊
@@restdayrider 15:50 😉
Oh Hi again! Hope you and your mum had a good rest of your trip . 😊
Your foreign lingo might not be up there with Itchy Boots yet but your incidental music is by far the best of RUclips motovloggers by a mile. Not managing to get away this summer so enjoying coming along for the ride. 🥐🥖🪗
Thank you, I appreciate that. 😊
Loving your videos Charlie, thanks for bringing us along for the ride👍🏻😎Excellent edit too!
Glad you like them! 😊
Nice video skills Charley, About the oil, please let your friends educate you on oil, for wet-clutch and dry clutch(cars), for a motorcycle with wet-clutch(Himalayan), you need a special motorcycle oil with additives, which they normally dont carry at service stations!!! The engine will be fine, but the clutch can become grabby over time?? Loking like a wet home trip!
I'm always open to education, I deemed in this case some oil was better than a dry and seized engine and take the risk of a slipping clutch til I get home. 😊
Too right Charlie. Any oil is true. However change it when you get back as sticky plates a pain
Most oils of the right viscosity are ok, but car oils tend to have additives which can make a wet clutch slip - your clutch runs in oil as it is a "wet" clutch whereas most ordinary cars have a dry clutch. The oil also acts as a coolant so you can hold your bike in gear with the clutch level pulled, a practise not recommended for 2 stroke engine bikes.. I very much doubt that a top up with car oil will do any harm to your bike or clutch. Probably the easiest place to find top up oil in small quantities is a supermarket.
I was thinking the same as I made that mistake years ago....
Charlie, Isn't France just great for bikes!! Empty, smooth roads with great visibility. You're very brave to do this alone (well nearly) lots of men wouldn't, but a lone female is very brave, I've followed your channel from the beginning, and your contents and filming have improved loads.
If you read the signs correctly, you'd have noticed that it actually Mont San MICHEL ie Michelle not Michael lol.
Thanks! 😃 France is amazing for roads. 😊
Just wonderful!
Many thanks! 😊
Hi Charlie, you are doing very well to sort things out as you go. Nice views to share with us.
I endorse the views made in other comments about the oil. Check the spec and suitability for bikes with wet clutches. I saw somewhere that the Himalayan is prone to using oil; just as well you have some on board at all times. If the container says Motorcycle Oil or has a picture of a bike it will probably be OK.
Thanks for the tips! 😊
Another fantastic video Charlie, a nice touch adding the old photos from the beach and showing the poppy fields! Mont St Michel is so beautiful👌Worth putting your joints through the pain barrier😉What a brilliant campsite👍
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Amazing content Charlie, thank you for sharing your great experience so many miles away. Such a wonderful montage to put the poppies in with the beach, great job. Looking forward to the next episode!!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Another great video Charlie 👍 very enjoyable..
Thank you. 😊
In a word amazing
Thank you 😊
Wow! Another fantastic vid' Charlie, thank you! Your editing and creative skills are so good 👍 Oh and for the record, we definitely need more of your singing! 😊👍
Thank you, although I'm not sure the singing is a good idea! 🤣
I was in France Dec 2020/Jan 2021 and not much was open because of Covid, the villages were so quiet. It doesn’t look much different? Where is everyone? Freddie Dobbs mentioned the bike using oil too. Nice video and some lovely roads to explore. 👍
I was amazed how abandoned the villages seemed too! 😊
Excellent stuff Charlie! I feel like I'm there. Some great filming especially at St Michael. Keep 'em coming. Ride safe.
Thanks, you too! 😊
Another fantastic video Charlie
Many thanks! 😊
Beautiful video again Charlie. Bravo!
Inspiring me to go further afield on my bike. 👏

Really something magical about seeing Mont St Michel on the horizon, like you l suffered after walking up to the Abbey but so worth the effort. Yet another fab video Charlie
It really is lovely there. 😊
Great filming and editing there Charlie, and to meet someone who hs ridden a himalayan in the himalayas pretty cool
Glad you enjoyed it 😊

Thank you very much! 😊
Fantastic video. Great editing. Mont Saint Michel looks epic. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Wonderful coverage of Sword Beach and St Michel. I was in the US Army in France from 65 to 67 but never got to go to those places. Thanks for bringing me along!
Thank you 😊
Stunning, Charlie, just stunning - and inspirational. A long time ago there used to be a bit of a motto 'Slow down and let the paramedics get there first'. You've done that. All power to you.
Thank you. 😊
Very very emotional watching this all those men who lost there lives for us thank you for sharing Charlie
You're welcome. 🙂
Thanks for letting us travel with you. ❤
My pleasure 😊
Glad you are having fun. French back roads and countryside is brilliant. Mount Saint- Michel is an amazing place.
It really is! 😊
What a fabulous series you have produced. Your footage is superb and a masterclass in how to do it right. Has taken me back 42 years, when I did a solo ride from my home in Northern Ireland to the South of France. Wonderful memories, so thank you. Can't wait to watch your other uploads. Take care and ride safely.
Thank you very much! 😊
Am new to your vids but what a great job your doing and having extensively traveled France myself it good seeing a different view of places.
Thank you, don't forget to subscribe. 🙂
great stuff, I keep saying to my self, I will visit one day to see sword beach were my dad landed on Dday, but I never seem to make the effort to go. at 69 now, I probably never will.
the "mont" realy is a fantastic monument/histarical building.
If you want to do it, make it happen. Life is too short. 😊
Great filming and editing, I can just about take a selfie.Glad your bike is not too fussy about oil grade. Enjoying your trip 👍
The bikes not fussy about anything but seems! He's amazing. 😊
