I could totally relate to what you described and it could be depressing when the cycle is perpetuated. -As you said, people could be isolated and distanced in many ways: in a physical sense, in a idelogical way , people do not have the same sense of humour, they are not on the same frequency or vibe, not on the same level of energy/motivation, they have other preoccupations based on our long or short term schedule ... People could always find a way to connect with someone but it will be in a selected area so it's not necessarly optimal. -Indeed, as a human, we are always discovering a new facet of ourselves if we continue the quest of self exploration. - If we feel isolated, it is more to alert us about how we are compared to others: It's more an index point but sometimes, it's because we could discern things others might not see. If we care about self improvement, we will take into consideration those issues to improve and find creative ways to connect with others. In many cases, we are not necessarly responsible of that if we try our best, it's not our faults if others refuse to be open to view things from a new perspective. - Nowadays, people are so busy so the default mode network is not often activated, they are always focus which do not give place to self reflection. People are just not curious anymore (listening to music in the street instead of smiling and giving contact with people) or they lack of humily to dicover things that are different from their sources of influence (They could not be dettach from what they were tought or what they learn from the society). While being busy, you minimize the connection with your ego but we need the ego part to ask questions about what need to be change ... Creativity only work when you're in a state of flow, which is only activitated when you stopped focusing on doing something. - Feeling lonely in the middle of a group of persons is like not being able to rest while taking a day off. It's just depend on how we control our brain and it could trigger different emotions. People could share the same activities but they have a different experience at the end. Our emotions are triggered by how the narattive of our conciousness anticipate things. If things are different from our expectations, we will need to be more flexible to be less surprised.
