    I think I have the same laundry room setup. Where does the ribbed hose feed to? Do you have a basement? I have my garden right below my laundry room, and I would like to get my r.o. line down there somehow to store my water.

    Thinking of picking this up. Is there any electrical plug needed? So does the float valve actually stop the water production?
    Do you turn on the 2 way valve when you want to produce water and then turn off? Or can you just leave the 2 way valve ON and let the float valve stop the production?

    also, did you order the copper hole punch, or did they throw it in for you?

    great vid! this is my first time having a ro unti as well.. haven't changed filters yet and its been 9 months of use... prob helps that my tap water is only around 9 TDS to begin with...
    How long would it take you to make 5 gallons of ro? thats all i make at a time for water changes.. takes about 70mins.. using the 75gpd system not this upgraded one you have.. just trying to see if its worth the extra money..
    thanks

      thanks CJ! 5 gal only takes about 20-30 min...it's pretty quick. if your looking to save time like I was then I highly recommend the $60 upgrade kit. the membranes last long time and your waste water amount should stay the same depending on your water pressure. At 60-80 psi you should be close to 50/50 like I am so the only difference you'll see is the decrease in production time which is the desired outcome.

    Sal!!! I've been patiently waiting. I always check to see if you posted anything new. How's that new tank you talked about coming along? I've been thinking about upgrading myself for awhile now. Thinking about possibly going with a 150G rank with a sump this time. Take care man!

      hey what's up brother! I still have the 80 gal tank lol. I haven't switched cuz the wife and I opened a business so all our money goes to that for now. Funny you mention the 150, I have my eye on the CAD lights artisan II. it's a 150 gal with and 50 gal sump...wicked sweet ready to go for $2,900....more than I can spend right now but it's in our future! hope you've been well!

      +Sal JHP -- LOL that's the exact tank I am thinking of getting haha. The only thing I dont like is the length of the sump, as I won't be able to fit in my 5 Gallon water jug. I also have the BRS RODI, but mine is the 4 stage unit and I added the 175 gallon upgrade. I dont see if you have one but I recommend getting a booster pump if you don't have one. It cranks my PSI to almost 90, and I can fill up a 5 gallon container in under 30 minutes. take care bro!

    hi sal i too am waiting for some updated videos of the sr 80, i am just about to order one myself, do you find the mp10s noisy at all bit concerned over this? also they recommend to have them on 9.5mm glass max but the sr80 is 12mm have you had any issues with this at all? would love to see a video of the sr 80 though ive watched your 10 month update video probably more than 10 times whilst waiting for mine lol.

      hi tom! I had concerns about the mp10s for the same reason but I was pleased to find out they work perfectly without issue. I can only put them at 50% power max cuz they create too much flow for the corals. As far as the noise, it's really not bad, I kinda enjoy hearing them when close to the tank..strange I know lol. I'll post another update soon buddy, thanks for staying in touch!

      +Sal JHP ideal thats a relief as i have the radions so was hoping to link them when i get round to buying the reeflink at some point, the tank will be in my dining room so shouldn't be to much of an issue anyway, just trying to keep the wife happy lol, look forward to seeing the new video soon. cheers

    hope you can help me. I bought accidentally RO/DI unit, but i needed the RO unit only for my fresh water tank. Can i take out the RI filter, will it still work? If it works can i fill it with something else? im only using it for my fish tank. I bought the AquaFX RO\DI do i have to use their product to be able to upgrade or can i use another brand? thanks.

      Beverly Lopez It should work just fine without that filter, it'll likely produce faster. I wouldn't advise on putting something else in it unless you have a tds meter to see how it would impact the water quality.

      Do you know if i can use a different brand to install a extra membrane?

    Can you drink the fresh water that comes out of this unit. Can you also drink the waste that comes from it given that it's actually filtered In stages. I know this is good quality water, but I just hate to waste water.

    • @saljhp137
      @saljhp137  7 лет назад

      Ryan Bondoc sorry for the late reply but I just saw your message. You can drink the water coming out of the first stage but not the second stage filtration, BRS sells a valve specifically for intercepting some water to drink. The amount of waste water is bad but you could put it to good use watering plants or your lawn even filling up the washing machine to eliminate the waste

    hi sal forgot to ask how many bags of sand did you put in ? cheers

    • @saljhp137
      @saljhp137  8 лет назад

      hey tom! I used 5 bags of Fiji pink. gave me roughly 2 1/2 inches sand bed. works well,..my starfish love it. I just switched to kessil A160we's yesterday so I'll have to make time to post another video soon.

    • @tomengland5082
      @tomengland5082 8 лет назад

      Oh right, sounds good, I was debating between the Kessils as well but went for two radion xr15 pro's in the end, sorry for all the questions but your rubber Mat that came with it to sit in between the aquarium and stand, did that sit flush either side of the cabinet or was it short? Look forward to the video thanks

    • @saljhp137
      @saljhp137  8 лет назад

      +tom england no worries room, glad to help. the rubber mat was a bit oversized so you can cut the excess and make it fit perfectly. the wood is very durable and cleans up nicely. the tank weighs 165 lbs, the stand weighs 211lbs, 80 gal of saltwater weighs 688 lbs....total weight 1,064 lbs..give or take 10. she's heavy so take that into consideration during placement also...floor needs to be strong.

    • @tomengland5082
      @tomengland5082 8 лет назад

      +Sal JHP ideal that's one less thing to worry about, I have seen it short in some videos was worried it would cause stress on the glass, have thought about the floor I think it's strong enough lol, it's either solid concrete like or its joists like the living room, if it's joist I've worked out it will be spread out across 3 or 4 of them so nothing to worry about there. thanks again for your help much appreciated!

    When you add salt to the 0 tds water it shoots back up to 500 so who knows that the salt is made in a clean environment
