    It's not just the Men's team either. The Australian Women's Team have also been extremely dominant. 7x WC winners, 6x T20 WC winners and a dominant test side.
    Spearheaded by Ellyse Perry over the last decade, is one of the greatest Cricket players in general, man or woman.

    Australia is the only team that can chase 200 more runs even after losing 7 wickets, Australia is the only team that can restrict the team that had scored 80 in 10 overs to 240 in 50 overs, this is the fighting spirit of Aussies and it was sad to see how Afghans and Indians lost these games to them😢. The importance of the Sheffield Shield should not be understated, and I am glad you mentioned it. Not only is it a high standard competition but the state sides that play in it play a lot of games against touring international teams. That means many first-class players are playing to near-test standard cricket even before they are able to get into the test side. This creates players that are already hardened for the five-day game.
    During the 1999-2007 period especially, Australian state teams were beating most foreign touring teams.

    • @DM-kq9ri
      @DM-kq9ri 11 месяцев назад

      The Shield is not as influential as it used to be, unfortunately. Hence why we are weaker now than we used to be. Backyard cricket is the reason why we have always been so good, plus playing multiple sports. The Shield has always been important as well. It was in some ways the most intense high quality cricket played in the world at time in history. It was as aggressive as sport could get at times, mentally as well as physically.

      @BatMan-oe2gh nope. Im talking about apples to apples. Windies v Australia in wsc 77/78 and 78/ 79 and in test cricket 79/80 and several times through the 80s . Im NOT including the 77/78 aust tour of thr windies where Australia fielded a scrub team due to wsc .
      Roberts , holding, garner, croft or marshal were the most brutal bowlimg line up ever in the history of test cricket especially when there was no bouncer limit then . Aust with its top lineup managed to tie a 3 test series 1-1 and got hammered in the rest.
      The 79/80 team , in my opinon was their best cause you had roberts holding garner and croft all at their peak . Garner in particular brutalized g chappel in that series. @@officialsportica It's fine, the content is enjoyable regardless of if it's text-to-speech or not. It's just in that "uncanny valley" for me, because the topics are so well researched (especially for an American-accented speaker), I would expect the creator to fully know the name pronunciation if it wasn't AI. Again, I like these videos regardless, but this keeps me from fully believing this is a human saying this :)

    Winning culture and winning mentality. The 2023 World Cup win came down simply to the fact that before the final, it was supposed to be a procession for India. Unbeaten and on home soil, it was supposed to be their crowning. In that locker room, that would have been disrespectful and that provided extreme motivation, no doubt about it. Australians embrace it when they are given the underdog tag and thrive when odds are against them unlike many nations.

BCCI wud never want to lose its monopoly over cricket as big economic giants like USA China may jump in.

      There's plenty of countries that play cricket that don't make it to the ICC World Cups because sadly they didn't qualify. Ireland and Zimbabwe are two top tier international teams that didn't qualify for the World Cup last year.
      There are actually over 100 countries with international cricket teams, after soccer it's the most played sport in the world. The US has both men's and women's Under 19 international cricket teams, they might become a force in the future as cricket is being promoted heavily there in recent times, and indeed some of the 2024 T20 World Cup games are scheduled to be held in the US. Atm the US teams are largely comprised of folks of Indian heritage but it will reach larger sections of the populace as it gains popularity.

    • @woopimagpie
      @woopimagpie 11 месяцев назад

      @@MikspaOrdan The ICC would like nothing more than to break into the US market, that's why there's been big promotional programs started there in recent times. Some of the T20 World Cup games are scheduled to take place in the US later this year, and the US already has Under 19 international teams for both men and women so they are upcoming in the sport and may well become a force in the future.
      I dunno about China. I can't see them ever getting involved, but you never know.
      One thing's for sure, the BCCI needs its ass kicked. Since they've been pulling the strings India has failed to win any big tournaments so whatever they are doing isn't working.

    India had a very good team over the years from 2000's to reach this level of success, but their inability to handle pressure situations and lack of confidence didnt make them reach their potential. On the other hand Australia not only had a great team but also has nerves of steel. It was evident from 99 semi final to take away the game fron that situation against that SA team is some level of determination and confidence. Also they never cared about personal records. They always were a compact unit in WC which other teams were not completely.

    In the 1980s when Greg Chappell, Dennis Lillee and Rod Marsh retired at the same time left an aweful big hole in the team and ended up in the low point of Kim Hughes resigning captaincy. If it was Alan Border's shear bloody mindedness take on teams almost single handedly the it would have been much lower. But took some real work from getting back Coach Simpson and getting back to basics improving the fielding and catching practice to win the 1987 World Cup. Along the way talent finds got into the team and eventually cemented their place in History - Steve Waugh, Dean Jones, David Boon, Ricky Ponting, Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath, Dizzie Gillespie, Brett Lee and many many others to rise up to the powerful team but it would have been Border's warriors to not look back and leave nothing in the tank that started it.

    AUSTRALIA is the best team in the world because they have good domestic structure plus they remove the player who is not performing unlike INDIA and pakistan , australia doesn't carry useless unperformed players and play tournaments with them ,,, This is the simple strategy of australia . 6 Times world champs ... no one have won more than 3 except AUSTRALIA 😂1987 , 1999 , 2003, 2007, 2015, 2023😥AUSSIES psychology is strong

      Not quite true, while it's hard to get into the Australian squad it's also hard to get put out of it because of a couple bad performances. Selectors will give them time to find their feet and show y they made it in the first place. This allows players to play without the fear of failure. Most likely why Australia do well in high pressure knockout games 🙂
