I’ve noticed the dragons will usually try to bring the entrepreneur down a notch to make them think their product isn’t as good as they think. They’ll ask a million questions until they find something he can’t answer. Then they’ll capitalize on that to get them nervous so that they’ll accept offers that would otherwise be unacceptable. It’s actually pretty smart.
I think he was avoiding giving the cost and retail price away. I wonder if he later came clean but the producers decided not knowing the figures is better TV.
You can see Jenny's adrenaline sky rocket as Peter declares himself out, she can barely breathe. Desperately trying to remember the contact details for QuickQuid so she can borrow 40 grand.
I got to give it to the guy for at least sticking up for his product and putting up a fight despite having a terrible pitch. Had he not battled the way he did, he probably wouldn't have got an investment.
I love Debora, she’s always asking the right questions she doesn’t try to embarrass or out smart the entrepreneur. Best Dragon there 😊 I love Peter too x
I think if he hadn't mentioned his other business doing so well, the dragon wouldn't have made him an offer, & good on her for taking a chance, & for not demanding a ridiculous percentage, as has happened on other episodes.
This episode was recorded over two separate days. Up until 11:00 before Jenny made an offer, was filmed the first day. When the offer was made, the senior producer and two cameramen died of heart attacks, and Peter barely survived by performing first aid on himself. They re-shot that last bit after the entire production crew, in lieu of additional insurance to cover sudden strokes, took a healthy dose of cannabis in their coffees before Jenny was contractually permitted to utter those words again.
I actually went to look up what happened to this guy and the company. In late 2022 they ended up liquidating due to one of their founders passing away and because the company was highly unsuccessful, especially due to COVID. The founder that had passed away was in fact his own wife who had breast cancer. Hes still running his other business and hes got two kids to support. Honestly, despite this being a comedic episode I hope this guys doing alright cause he seems to be a decent bloke 😢
It's actually hilarious. Jenny extremely rarely makes an offer, so much so that she is a meme in the Dragons' Den viewers eyes. One of the EXTREMELY FEW TIMES she DOES make one? She does it on the worst, broken product, badly pitched crap ever?????????????? What a joke lmao
There seems to be a common theme when it comes to the temperature in that building. If i remember, there was a guy who pitched those water filters and his water suffered a similar problem in terms of temperature. It's becoming a valid excuse.
The entrepreneurs are not allowed to set up their own presentations. It's well known that the Dragon's Den franchise in multiple countries deliberately throw curveballs during setup, in order to make the show 'spicier'. In one show in the US version, there was an entrepreneur presenting his superior door deadbolt against a regular home deadbolt. The producers admitted later they replaced the 'regular home' deadbolt with the best industrial security deadbolt they could find on the market, and to hell with a fair price comparison, either.
Khispe Really? Ugh, I genuinely thought I had finally found a decent, interesting show. I assumed there was some exaggeration but straight up rigging it?!? That’s messed up.
nothing porr about him, he is in a business and knows what to expect of him if he wants money. dont curle people who who are in for money and presentation, he will learn from that
"Let me break it down" "On my mathematical modelling, I've done 1,500, I've done wha-, I've done what I could, I've run the business, I've drilled it down in terms of an excel spreadsheet and I put it."
So wait, do we need to boil water super hot first? Wouldnt that take away from how fast it percolates? Other coffee machines like the Keurig does all of that in minutes
@@ziahgyb I just searched up the company's name, and I came across an interview with Jenny where she was asked what her 'best investment' was (not that there are many of them) and she responded with 'Oomph coffee, they have sold 16k units and are going global'. @@yomommasc as somebody who actually is bipolar II, i have to agree. (my professional take on this ep: this is why you bring in some basic documentation. the guy wanting money sounded less professional/prepared during most of this than the dude who once asked me about "how do i deal with my meth dealing earnings for us federal tax purposes?")
@SaltyBrains you either go straight-up "illegal income" like the state-legal dispensaries usually have to for their federal stuff or you claim self-employed salesperson status and fake up "spent this much money on inventory/supplies/travel, got this much from product sales, and possibly paid one or more people as independent contractors but you didn't pay any of them enough to kick the 'gotta give THEM a 1099-MISC non-employee compensation' deal in." i couldn't have done the second legally because he'd already told me he was dealing and i probably would have shuffled him off to my work partner even if he'd been selling Herbalife or something like that because we had an unofficial deal where "i've BEEN self-employed, you haven't, unless they're really really prepared they're my problem not yours". (basically, once we have heard or seen something, we don't get to miraculously ignore it even if we really really want to, and this dude devolved into "i don't wanna pay my baby mama her child support i'm just going to stay under the table" shortly after that so he wasn't getting any sympathy from me. i file too many single mamas with worthless "paternal DNA contributors", and as far as i could tell, he DEFINITELY qualified for that.) a lot of retail-level dealers actually do have W-2 jobs (or ARE at least quasi-legit indy contractors doing something besides dealing) and use their illegal earnings to support their own habits and/or supplement their "gotta pay the rent/feed everybody/keep the AC on/etc. expenses of daily living", but i'm pretty sure this dude had gotten high on his own supply too many times to manage that route.
money talks with these people...... and dont use the word bipolar when you dont know what it is, i have it and it is terrible, one moment i am the happiest person in the world but with the click of a finger im trying to KILL MYSELF and KILL random innocent people in the street. Mr.MichelinMan As a coffee drinker, I don´t think the product is terrible. Obviously it needs to refined, but the potential is there.
Interestingly, this actually turned out to be an excellent investment
@Savagearfad . Denny M is right. Already on a second one now, its been in GQ, sells thousands all over the world and even in China. Does talks for Oxford Uni business school, guys a multi millionaire. So I'd say that qualifies, look him up on LinkedIn. This show is like everything from the BBC- edited to their own pathetic agendas!
This needs to be front page news... forget about the troubles in the Middle East, forget about the gun crime in America, forget about Boris as PM.... Jenny has invested!!!!
whiteweewee gun crime is higher in other countries btw.
@Jordan McTaggart yeh... but has he invested in oomph?
kylethedalek it’s higher in one other country, don’t get ahead of yourself
Jordan McTaggart Boris will be shite. Goodbye.
Charity Rivers what one?
She wants to get a piece of his other business. Had nothing to do with the one he presented lol
No way, why wouldn't she invest in such a well brewed pitch.
I think your right . If he ends up needing more money , she will leverage him by asking for piece of the business as a hedge.
She didn't invested in the other company. It wasn't even part of the terms she wants.
@@TheAazah how could you possibly know that? The terms etc. are decided when they sign the paperwork after the show. Dragons have even backed out before this signing, as well as adding or reducing terms.
I drink coffee everyday therefore there seems to be a conflict of interest and for that reason I’m out
I met this guy he did a speach at some business thing I went to. He got an apology from the show as they gave him cold water to make the coffee! I'm surprised he didnt sue them apparently he was in there for over an hour and they paused filming. To see what to do about it. I think he made a lot out of it so he wasnt bothered and the product is good, I have one. I still think I would have sued they have edited very dishonestly.
No way!! So his product is actually very good! But they wouldn't give him the time of day because the water lmao. The product can be easily fixed, just a faulty problem with the lid
DesolateArt not knowing his numbers was pretty bad though. I wouldn’t give him an offer just for that
K. Gotowski agree, and his excuses were nonsense
@Long Schnozzed Tribesman It is? You can't make good coffee with cold water.
@Long Schnozzed Tribesman Go and make a cup of coffee with cold water now and tell me that again... absolute bollocks.

Rasmus Andersson You might be taken aback by this level of surprise but it’s something called... a joke!!
That was fricking hilarious
I’ve noticed the dragons will usually try to bring the entrepreneur down a notch to make them think their product isn’t as good as they think. They’ll ask a million questions until they find something he can’t answer. Then they’ll capitalize on that to get them nervous so that they’ll accept offers that would otherwise be unacceptable. It’s actually pretty smart.
except all 50 of the videos i seen 95 percent of everyone pulls tf out
Don't know if its particularly smart, but I agree about that.
I'm Jenny. The bank eventually agreed to my loan application for £40,000. I'm in.
Hahahaha
Jenny: “you have done the most uninvestible pitch”
Jenny the next sentence: “i’m going to make you an offer”
This video would get more views if it was titled "Jenny makes an offer."
Jenny: makes an investment
Everyone: *you weren’t supposed to do that*
B0b Meh lol 😂
I still don’t get how you can make a prediction without knowing how many units that is🤣
I think he was avoiding giving the cost and retail price away. I wonder if he later came clean but the producers decided not knowing the figures is better TV.
You can see Jenny's adrenaline sky rocket as Peter declares himself out, she can barely breathe. Desperately trying to remember the contact details for QuickQuid so she can borrow 40 grand.

at 10:26, Tej is like, “Oh my god Jenny is gonna make an offer for the first time since the Queen was born”
I got to give it to the guy for at least sticking up for his product and putting up a fight despite having a terrible pitch. Had he not battled the way he did, he probably wouldn't have got an investment.
Yeah, he handled it very well in my opinion
@@ziahgyb Really though, he must've been under a lot of pressure being grilled by the Dragons. Although he sort of brought it upon himself.
Yeah he fucked up badly but he accepted it, owned it, and tried to stick with his product. Pretty good effort.
I love Debora, she’s always asking the right questions she doesn’t try to embarrass or out smart the entrepreneur. Best Dragon there 😊
I love Peter too x
You haven’t watched the condom episode then!
Turns out it doesn't exactly fill investors with confidence when you don't even know how many units you're selling a month...
Jenny : makes an offer
Me : wait that’s illegal
Sam Connolly ”you were not suppossed to do that”
I think if he hadn't mentioned his other business doing so well, the dragon wouldn't have made him an offer, & good on her for taking a chance, & for not demanding a ridiculous percentage, as has happened on other episodes.
“Units in a mommfff” can’t say month... for that reason I’m out.
hahahahhahaha
That's funny
Wow im shocked who invested not because of the terrible product but because of who it was .
😂😂😂😂
This episode was recorded over two separate days. Up until 11:00 before Jenny made an offer, was filmed the first day. When the offer was made, the senior producer and two cameramen died of heart attacks, and Peter barely survived by performing first aid on himself. They re-shot that last bit after the entire production crew, in lieu of additional insurance to cover sudden strokes, took a healthy dose of cannabis in their coffees before Jenny was contractually permitted to utter those words again.
This is the best comment I've ever read. Ever.

🤣
does anyone ever google the products shown on these shows?
Hahaha exactly its actually doing quite well 🤣 😄 😅
That was strong Ecstasy he put in Jenny's coffee
There seems to be a common theme when it comes to the temperature in that building. If i remember, there was a guy who pitched those water filters and his water suffered a similar problem in terms of temperature. It's becoming a valid excuse.
With the situation you are referring to the problem is because it was dehumidifier water and naturally tastes horrible and can be toxic.

Wtf. Are they all bipolar. Peters eyes lit up at the word million. This physically made me lol at the turn around of their attitudes
You have no clue what bipolar is
@@yomommasc as somebody who actually is bipolar II, i have to agree. (my professional take on this ep: this is why you bring in some basic documentation. the guy wanting money sounded less professional/prepared during most of this than the dude who once asked me about "how do i deal with my meth dealing earnings for us federal tax purposes?")
@SaltyBrains you either go straight-up "illegal income" like the state-legal dispensaries usually have to for their federal stuff or you claim self-employed salesperson status and fake up "spent this much money on inventory/supplies/travel, got this much from product sales, and possibly paid one or more people as independent contractors but you didn't pay any of them enough to kick the 'gotta give THEM a 1099-MISC non-employee compensation' deal in."
i couldn't have done the second legally because he'd already told me he was dealing and i probably would have shuffled him off to my work partner even if he'd been selling Herbalife or something like that because we had an unofficial deal where "i've BEEN self-employed, you haven't, unless they're really really prepared they're my problem not yours". (basically, once we have heard or seen something, we don't get to miraculously ignore it even if we really really want to, and this dude devolved into "i don't wanna pay my baby mama her child support i'm just going to stay under the table" shortly after that so he wasn't getting any sympathy from me. i file too many single mamas with worthless "paternal DNA contributors", and as far as i could tell, he DEFINITELY qualified for that.)
a lot of retail-level dealers actually do have W-2 jobs (or ARE at least quasi-legit indy contractors doing something besides dealing) and use their illegal earnings to support their own habits and/or supplement their "gotta pay the rent/feed everybody/keep the AC on/etc. expenses of daily living", but i'm pretty sure this dude had gotten high on his own supply too many times to manage that route.
money talks with these people...... and dont use the word bipolar when you dont know what it is, i have it and it is terrible, one moment i am the happiest person in the world but with the click of a finger im trying to KILL MYSELF and KILL random innocent people in the street. It is not something to be used in a joke
@@RC-nv6rc yes I am sorry for using the term bipolar so carelessly. As someone who struggles with mental health myself I took it as a gateway to throw around a term, I know how serious it is.
