This video is mistitled. The margin is not what causes the bidding war. Indeed, the margin is actually the worst part of their pitch.
What about the loan was it that created the bidding war?
@@DG-um3xi It's because some of them actually have extreme levarage when it comes to negotiating as part of the group owning it. They don't view it as much a penalty as they are quite capable of doing something about it merely by attaching their name and sending a rep who likely will be on a first name basis with the group being negotiated with.
I was hoping their margins were insanely good lol
Nikola Kantarovski it’s the bad financial management that pushes the bidding. Bad finances can be fixed with money and tighter control, and they can make a good product cheap at valuation.

They all knew it was a terrible deal but they really liked the guys, their pitch, their honesty and that they had their numbers in order. This is the correct way to pitch in this situation, hats off to these guys for pulling it off
Love the way Peter gives the impression he is helping them out of a bad loan but wants a massive 20% if coupled with another dragon or 40% on his own.....the charity clearly begins at home for him.
But he was doing charity work thought, any person with the slightest bit of business sense would see that the guys highly valuated their business with meager margins and a loss in funds. You do realise dragons never go into startups with say 5% or 10% right ? companies that manage to get low percentages off the dragons are the ones that have incredibly high potential and are already on their merry way. But there is also the bad loan, for most investers that would be off putting because they have to pay the loan back which means the company has debts which means it takes longer for the invester to get their money back and longer to make profits. The fact the dragons still made a deal in itself was charity work, but letting the guy own the majority is the cherry on the cake. If half the entrepreneurs knew they where being that badly fobbed off they wouldn't accept these deals.
@@ashleygoggs5679 couldn't have said it better 👌🏾

I like how all the entrepreneurs come in with an agreement, and once the dragons look at it they immediately realize that they are being scammed.
Sometimes I see a side to Peter which almost seems that he’s a nice person As he doesn’t always come across like this. He defended their right to hold control of the company another time when he told the lady with the water bottle & brush that it was important she got her initial investment of 250k after one of the dragons asked if she would write it off before them investing. That’s true business which is fair to both parties.
that's what he says before he makes an offer that gives him a huge portion of the business ... ah well. That's life.
Tej: "Your company is worth 200k so I will buy in at a worth of 300k". Funny how many times these dragons invest to help the entrepreneurs instead of for their own self-interest. LMAO
Not sure if you actually believe that, but just in case: it's really not worth 200k. It's worth a lot more. They say it does to make deals feel sweeter and get more nods. They are businessmen.
Ferenc Szaffenauer bro u ever heard of something called sarcasm?

Its mind games as well, its basically trying to emphasise that the business is shit and whatever offer I give you,you should take. The dragons obviously saw something good about it and money in it.
