Ok, I am a bit puzzled, all the volvo 240's I've seen have the ground wire attached to one of the motors bolts then fastened to the wall above the motor, how come you have no ground wire, is a ground wire unnecessary? If so then why are there ground wires?
Hi, from what I've gathered, in the absolute later stages of the 240's production they ceased using a sheet of brass between one of the three bolt attachments to the car's chassi and instead went with the ground wire as the piece of brass had a tendency to break off and/or oxidise. This is why most modern replacements have the ground wire that you mentioned.
Thanks for showing me the access to that motor from inside that's a big help . Usually it's a park feature inside the motor that causes it to go all the way down after you turn it off. You probably will need a new motor at some point. Please show this car some love clean it up use a wire brush to make sure the ground connections are good.😊😊😊😊
Obligatory Mountain Dew shot at 3:20. You may want to use AquaPel instead of Rain-X. My understanding is the AquaPel product is less prone to streaking and you don't need to use Rain-X wiper blades to keep the efficiency of the treatment in place. That said, I do use Rain-X on all other glass surfaces on my Volvos (headlights, side mirrors, both side and rear glass).
I really like the simple clip to remove the motor rod to the wipe arm rod. I hate them stupid metal ball style you have to snap into plastic that always breaks
Hooray Volvo content! This was a super video thanks buddy 👍
Love the Volvo content, keep it up man
Thank you!!
Helpful video dude thank you, that car looks pretty clean considering it's been sat under a tree for so long, great colour too. Have a good chrimbo 🎄
Thanks so much! She faired out okay for the life in the north she's lived. Thought I do need to get on some rust repair before it's too far gone...
Love the roof rack you have could you send the specs?
ARKSEN 84 x 50 for the basket. I'm using 3 late 80s/early 90s Saris cross bars to hold the basket on.
