As a type one Diabetic my biggest fear is not having insurance, it's happened to my family before and nothing eats your money quite like having to pay for a month of diabetes supplies, let me break it down...
    Around $300 per bottle-Insulin (2-4 bottles a month)
    $1 a test strip-Test Strips (5-10 a day, making roughly 150-300 a month)
$15 a box-Syringes (that the cheapest way to deliver insulin, but if ur like me you'd have to pay for VERY expensive pump and CGM supplies or switch to lower quality care)
This would mean a month as a diabetic with no insurance could be upwards of $1,500 a month, for many people that's their rent or double it. People are being forced to make terrible sacrifices so big companies like Eli Lilly can make money off our dependency. I feel deep sorrow for Alec and his family, I am so sorry for their UNNECESSARY loss. This is why capitalism has no place in healthcare.

Much relief after going through this stuff ruclips.net/user/postUgkx-ip-9JdKgYMhubLnEjt3OXJkFyS4D2Jd Stress no doubt affects my blood sugar levels. Taking a walk usually help bring them down. Eating sweets is not my favorite, but if i take a large portion of them, my blood sugar level rises high. I think it's the high concentration of the glucose flowing into the bloodstream all at once. This is a lesson worth taking note of. This is a great material to learn from.

This breaks my heart. My husband is self employed and so we pay for health insurance. His health insurance alone would be enough to cover a second house with taxes and insurance. Of course we don't need a second house but that will give you an idea of the cost.
My husband had excellent health until late 2018 when his doctor failed to mention he had an infection. That infection spread quickly to his blood (septic shock) and we weren't sure he'd live. The deductible on his insurance was $7,700, which we gladly paid to the hospital. It would have cost $108,000 for the emergency room and 2 days in the hospital if he didn't have insurance. That is insane. I wanted to give those commenting from outside of the US an idea of how much insurance costs. We are not rich (as you can see from my channel) and thankfully we had savings to pay the hospital bills.

Listen. Drug companies have to pay billions of dollars on testing for medication. License for medication only last 10 years. They have to at least make their money back in only 10 years. Drug companies are being forced to up the prices because if they don't do all the testing they're at risk of being sued.

The MAIN function of law is -- and always has been -- to punish those who PREY on others. The drug companies are straightforwardly doing that, there's just no other way to accurately describe what is being done. I'm VERY pro-business. But a line has to be drawn at the point where companies actually begin to prey on their customers.

Not kidding when I say I’m stockpiling every supply reorder whether she needs it or not. I’d rather she have months to figure out the system than weeks. In Mexico 🇲🇽 universal health care is completely free for Mexican citizens who do not have health insurance.
The new universal health of Mexico, administered by the Institute of Health for Wellbeing (INSABI) public care is fully subsidized by the federal government.
All Mexican citizens are eligible to receive subsidized health care regardless of their employment status, through a system of health care facilities that operates under the federal Ministry of Health.
And the ironic thing is that my country, Mexico is in the process of development or as some say "Third World" but at least here health is not a capitalist business as in the United States.
