    what you were walking on on the side of the dempster we call muskeg ( it's a Cree word). the permafrost sits under that about 6 to 8 inches beneath that

    Congrats on completing the Dempster. It was so sad that someone passed away on that accident. Ok, if we make it up there, we need to have an overnight kit in each vehicle.

      @@TheGrayLifewithJimPearl yes , on the over night kit. It’s an 18 hour drive each way from Dawson City.

    I would like to know if you have to make reservations for the ferry and how much is it and what form of payment? Thank you

      @@lrheaume all of the ferries we crossed in canada were free. The ferries are just a continuation of the roads.
      The ferries on the Dempster highway only operated on a 10-12 hour day.
      But the ferry in Dawson City heading to the Top of the World Highway operates 24/7 in the summer months.
