+SoyVianger thanks so much for the kind words :) it really means a lot. An RGB Aura compliant cable will work. If you need help for your build you can take a look at my step by step guides (the Ryzen Project is nice with Aura RGB cables ). If u need, send me an email and I can add you on Skype. I'll be more than happy to help you out . I do speak Spanish
So i have a couple questions. With this motherboard and a 7820x is dual channel better or gaming or quad channel? Should i have all 4 sticks on one side or have 2 and 2?
i have a quesion all be it late... trying to hook up a USB cord to the corsair lighting node pro (for fans) and i see there is only one USB hook up for this on the MB ... am i missing something?
Hi ! I have a Rog Strix X299 e gaming mobo, and I bought two (2) M.2 SSD 1. Samsung 960 Evo 256GB where my boot drive is and all my files and games etc. So I decided to buy a 2nd M.2 Samsung 970 Evo 1TB because my first drive is getting full and I decided to transfer all my files such as games, steam, medias and etc. The only thing Is gonna remain on the 1st Drive 256Gb is the bootup (OS) ONLY My Motherboard has 2 M.2 Slot both supports nvme one is located with the HEATSINK below the motherboard 30 degree installation and the one is 90 degree mount installation. My question is where should I put specific SSDs? Should I put the M.2 256gb (bootup) at the HEATSINK area and the 1TB on the vertical mount? Or the opposite? Which would perform best? Thanks so much I hope I could get an answer.
Boot drive under the heat sink yes. The boot drive is the one most like to heat and thermo throttle, therefore it is the one which should benefit from the heat shield and thermo pad. The 1tb M.2ssd will be fine on vertical mount. Still get some heat dissipation through air flow. Just make sure your case has some positive air flow. Hope this helps.
Not a good motherboard. My opinion Asus is going down hill fast. I've always been an Asus customer but it would seem their products are getting cheaply made and prices are going up. I have a x299 strix motherboard that didn't even last a year before stopped working and began throwing codes. I sent it in for repair after talking to nothing but foreign people at Asus. It is now day 3 and they can't seem to find my motherboard even tho the tracking said it was delivered. Although I did find my lawers phone number just in case.
Great review that answered all my questions. I like the callout graphics and shots of the mobo as you were talking about specific parts. Subscribed.
Great review on this board Laurent. I like your passion. And you look so young here!

The last PCI-E 3.0x16 port only supports 3.0x8 as you can see when you have a closer look on that socket there are only the half of all pins in there
Can this mother board get a water block added to the cpu ?

2 and 2
U will then enable the quand channels abilities and have dedicated bandwidth vs shared for each ram sticks
