As I understand it, she has sung this song before. Did she do better this time compared to the previous time?
Since there are different occasions and accompaniments, it is difficult to decide.
It begins with the abridged version as part of her interview about her book on Anne Lindmo's talk show on Norwegian TV NRK (piano accompaniment, 9yo).
Then the "White Flower" recording (home studio with generic backing track, 11yo).
From 2023 we have four versions:
a shorter b/w TT recording with reference to Elvis (also seems to be a backing track, but that's not certain),
the Black Dress concert version from Portsmouth, NH (local band with graduates of Berkley college of music) - the most slowed down version til now,
the Blue dress version - a private performance at a resort in Napa Valley, Cal. (her band there was from The Jordan Kahn Music Company) which is not that very slow and feels more "round" IMHO
and this Nobel Peace Prize concert version which you can call the Greek Goddess version (Norwegian Radio Symphony Orchestra (KORK))
So it's hard to say, and perhaps your preference for The Righteous Brothers or Elvis' version has an influence on your decision.

Angelina first sang this song, in a shortened version, at age 9 on a TV program in Norway. She was interviewed about her book, "Between Two Hearts" being published, making her the youngest published author in Norway's history. The book tells the story of why she always performs barefoot. Here is a summary of her book, which gives more details than during her interview BUT still leaves plenty to enjoy when you purchase her book.
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.
Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. In 2014, a little Norwegian girl was named and codified, a national treasure by both the King of Norway and the prime Minister. That same year, she sang for the Nobel peace prize winners all at the age of 8.
In 2023, that same girl, now almost 18 once again graced the Nobel peace prize stage and sang for the recipient once again.
That young girl is none other than Angelina Jordan.
Angelina Jordan made history with this performance.
Angelina is the only solo singer under the age of 18 to have performed twice at the Nobel peace prize concert.
When I learned the story of Narges Mohammadi, this years recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, and the history of the song "Unchained Melody", I fully understood why Angelina Jordan chose this song.
Angelina arranged the music and vocals for this performance. She thanked the director of KORK publicly for allowing her to do this.
Angelina is often praised for her rich lower registers vibrato. As she does not sing to show off we do not often see anything like her full range. This song conveyed the love, longing and emotion to the children of Nargis in the audience. The song and its delivery a perfect sensitive tasteful choice .... we expect nothing less of Angelina because she never disapounts us.

Nice reaction Ace. First the song is from a 1956 movie called "Unchained". It is about a prisoner longing to be with his family though incarcerated. This song made famous from the Movie "Ghost" with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. The event is to honor Narges Mohammadi, imprisoned in Iran for standing up for human rights and women's rights. Her Children were here to except the peace prize on her behalf. The Norwegian Peace Prize committee awarded Narges the peace prize and the event is taking place at Oslo, Norway City Hall. Angelina grew up in Oslo so this is home for her. Her Grandma Mery is an Iranian born poet/painter. The Orchestra Kringkastingsorkestret commonly abbreviated KORK is the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, a highly respected orchestra affiliated with NRK Broadcasting in Norway. Cheers. 🥰🥰

The Nobel Peace Prize Concert was not arranged this year. This is from a one hour TV program containing mainly an interview with the two children of the imprisoned Peace Prize Winner.

This is the second time Angelina has sung with KORK at the Noble Peace Prize concert. She was 10 the first time. I recommend you watch Angelina sing If I Were A Boy (Piano Diaries) released early this year. Arguably her best yet.

The Nobel Peace Prize Award is issued annually to someone who distinguishes themselves for their representation concerning humanitarian efforts in the world. The award ceremony takes place is Oslo, Norway, (where Angelina was born). Angelina has performed in front of that Norwegian orchestra before as far back as when she was 8 years old (singing the classic 'Summertime'). The recipient of the award was Narges Mohammadi, an Iranian woman who is imprisoned in Iran because of her stand for women's rights as well as oppression against women in general. She is the mother of twins (a boy and a girl, both in their teens) and they live in France along with their father. The award ($$$) was issued to them so that Narges can realize her efforts to create change would be recognized. She has been in jail for many years and at one point the Iranian officials considered releasing her from prison but, with a condition. That condition would be that she stop talking about the rights of women. Narges met with her family and told them how much she loved them and missed them and would, so much, want to be with them again, but she reminded them how strongly she believed in what she was doing and that it is the right thing to continue doing so she told them she could never agree to such a condition. So, she remains in prison. It has been reported she was recently on a hunger strike and I don't know what the status of that development is. Our hope is that she is fine, of course. Angelina's ( who is Norwegian, Swedish, Iranian and Japanese) grandma is Iranian (like Angelina she was a child prodigy as well, a painter and a poet) and she has had a great influence on Angelina and because of her love for jazz introduced Angelina to jazz at a VERY early age. So, indirectly there was a connection between Angelina, her grandma and the woman currently in prison. Angelina had sung the song, 'Unchained Melody', before (made famous by the Righteous Bros in the 60's and more recently was the theme of the movie 'Ghost' (starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg) and for this version she slowed the tempo down to make it more reflective of the sad occasion in which to present such a glorious award. When you play it again for your personal pleasure you will see nearing the end of the song Angelina appears and sounds very emotional and, in fact, she was. She had told us her heart was full of love for the woman and she hoped she would be able to finish the song without breaking down. Which, of course, she did with a finish to the song which will be remembered forever. I trust that will give you a better idea of what the people in that intimate seating were feeling as Angelina sang as only she can. She turned 18 on Jan 10th and is headed for two Concerts in Las Vegas on Feb 29th. She has been shielded most of her life so that she could live the life of a young girl growing up with emphasis on her education and, now, here we are, at the crossroads. Although millions of people know her millions more will discover her as she is being 'set free' and will be promoted to the general public and won't that be a great day for them. Do we expect them to act any differently than we did when we discovered her? She has some original music out there right now and even a Christmas EP. A lot for you to catch up on.

I totally agree with you in your comment of the performance, but this was not from the Peace Prize Ceremony which is held at the Town Hall of Oslo. This performance was from a TV program mainly consisting of an interview with the two children of the imprisoned Prize Winner.

It is the most prestigious award in the world. The winner is announced some months before the ceremony, and the King, Crown Prince and ministers are sitting 20 yards from her.

Angelina inspires me to do what I can to help make the world a better place, so I am asking all angels and others to spread the story of Narges Mohammadi. Angelina was recorded here in December 2023 at the Nobel Peace prize ceremony in Oslo Norway, performing this beautiful version of Unchained Melody. She paid tribute to Narges, who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two twin children, who are 17, spoke on her behalf at this event. The more people who are aware and call for change, the more likely the leaders of Iran will set her free. Acts of kindness are inspirational, as Angelina always reminds us. The important links would be Facebook channel, Instagram, tik tok channels, and Spotify. That is only four additional links to her RUclips official and cover channels. This suggestion is not just for Angelina but for all aspiring artists you feature. They deserve the promotion and support the same as your channel does. And you will build more fan loyalty by promoting your viewer's favorite artists. The nice thing is by putting in a couple of minutes to do this, you will have them for future videos. Peace out.

@@AceofBadeReacts I certainly appreciate the time issues for reaction channels. The reality though is that you're not doing 200 videos at once. It's one at a time as you do them. Certainly a minimum is the original video in the official channels on RUclips in your description. Encouraging viewers to visit there introduces them not only to the artist information but also your important information, since viewers do not usually go there on their own. Equal priority for both! I can tell you that dozens if not hundreds of reactors that put in just a minute or two of extra effort are some of the most loved channels and faster growing channels on RUclips. Of course it is your decision how to manage your channel, but these suggestions come from hundreds of fans that we speak with in terms of what's important, and equal artist priority is key. She will be in concert February 29 in Las Vegas at the Westgate. Show times at 7:00 and 9:30.The same venue (under a different name) that Elvis performed at many many times. I hope as many Angels as possible can make it. Also a great way to introduce her to others.

AJ's grandmother, Mery Zamani, is a famous artist and poet herself, and was a child prodigy in Iran, and she has been a strong influence on AJ's life. “She is my truly mentor,” says Jordan. Jordan published a book illustrated by her grandmother, when she was 9, and they create art together regularly. AJ is the youngest author to publish a book in Norway to date.
Don't forget, English is AJ's third language, according to her official website, she can speak four languages: Norwegian, English, Urdu and Persian. She learned Urdu and Persian from her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani who is a genius and world-famous painter and poet. Mery Zamani is also a talented songwriter. She has written over 100 songs in different languages, including Persian, English, Norwegian, Japanese and Spanish. She has also published several books of poetry and memoirs. Mery's Album "Mery Zamani Miracle Genius" is available in English, Norwegian, Japanese. Angelina dropped her latest song on May 5th 2023 it is the first song off her new album which will be out soon. The name of the song is ‘Love Don’t Let Me Go’ - ruclips.net/video/1U6WY_z8Vu8/видео.html - She wrote the song and in an interview said that all of the songs on the new album will be songs she wrote and had a major part in their arrangements.
She has done several Adel covers and one other song of note - ‘Million Miles’ - ruclips.net/video/3KxvwuZ7oEM/видео.html - this is an original that she wrote in honor of her grandfather after he passed away. It is also the first song released under her contract with Republic Records.

Just a little friendly comment. You might want to do a little research into the event to which you are reacting to gain a little credibility. If you don’t know what the Nobel Prizes are and that there are different categories, how can people take your reaction to musical performance seriously. I am in no manner suggesting that you should view the performance before you react to it, but you should be totally aware of why the artist decided to perform the song in the manner that they did. If you want to grow your channel, you need to put more effort into your reactions and not rely on the comments to do all the work for you. Just a friendly suggestion.

@@AceofBadeReacts Just don’t listen to the music first. Research the artist and their background and if it’s a concert, what is the concert for and who wrote the song the artist is singing. Your channel will grow much faster if your viewers think you know what you’re talking about. Don’t rely on the viewers to do all your work for you. That’s a very lazy way to do your job and you’ll never get anywhere. Be a leader not a follower, I’m just trying to help you.
