The Nobel prize being awarded to Narges Mohammedi serving 31 years in an Iranian prison for speaking up for women's/human rights in Iran. Narges' two children, Angelina's age, are there to accept the award for their mother. As you know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani is Iranian, so this is a special honor for Angelina..Think of the impact on Narges' children when the verse " I'll be coming home, wait for me" is sung by Angelina. Every time I hear the KORK Orchestra begin playing, I feel a surge of emotion because I know what is coming next: the most amazing rendition of Unchained Melody by the incomparable Angelina Jordan. She has a voice of an angel and a talent beyond words. Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize 2023 Some ask why Angelina Jordan would pick Unchained Melody for this event, Narges Mohammadi, the Iranian human rights activist who received the prestigious award remains in Iran. One of the most popular and enduring love songs of all time, Unchained Melody, has a surprising origin. It was composed for a 1955 film called Unchained, which tells the story of a man who is incarcerated for a crime he did not commit. He yearns to be free and reunite with his wife and children, who are waiting for him outside. I can't believe I missed this, Adrianna. My apologies (been away from reactions for a bit ... no time). This was an absolutely fantastic reaction that echoed a lot of my own feelings about Angelina's fantastic orchestra-backed cover under the bright lights of a Nobel Peace Prize celebration. I saw/heard her perform this live in New Hampshire last September and this brought it all crashing back ... and, if you can believe it, this is better ... after only a few months. My darling, you have no idea how many listeners cried along with you. A special performance by Angelina we will always remember. She sang it directly to the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize Award and her family. She is currently, and has been, in an Iranian prison for speaking out for women's rights and the oppression of women in general. Her two children (twins, a boy and a girl) and her husband now live in France. A couple of years ago the Iranian officials said they would release her from prison if she would agree to stop talking about women's rights. Narges Mohammadi met with her family and told them she missed them so much, loved them dearly and would love to be reunited with them, BUT, she told them she could never agree to do what they asked, to be quiet. So, she continues to be imprisoned and the world has taken notice. A woman reactor who knew the story watched Angelina sing the song and she knew (like all of us) that it was a very emotional moment for her. Angelina was quoted as saying she was, indeed, very sympathetic and hopes the situation will be resolved. The woman reactor said she could see traces of tears on Angelina's face that her makeup could not hide. The woman sounded very convincing. If Angelina felt that strongly about her appearance there and singing such a song directly to Narges Mohammadi and her family, it didn't stop her from performing a stirring and perfect work of art for all of us to cherish.
Adrianna, Dear, we all feel like proud Aunts and uncles for her and she knows it. This is the reason she dedicated her song "Fire and Rain" to us, as well as in 2021 she dedicated "You say" to us.
We can be proud for her, to be invited a second time before even being 18 years old to the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE. This is one of the highest honors any artist can get.

Great reaction, I think you nailed the feelings many of us have about Angelina. We are indeed very proud of this young woman. Hi Adrianna , tears in the eyes and goosebumps, that's completely normal, I feel like that all the time, she has something in her voice that you can't describe but these emotions hit you in your heart and soul and the effect is, I want to be a better person and it fills me with peace. Live in the studio and live on stage as well as her stage presence cannot be described. My biggest wish is to see her live in Germany
She is "angelling" this song. "Angelling" means to me the way when she sings a song heartbreaking and heartwarming the same time and gives me the feeling that my soul is touched by an angel wing sending shivers down my spine.
Every time I listen to her performance for this concert I am blown away by the utter beauty of her, her voice, the orchestra, this performance. I'm not sure our ears can feel more love than this. The recipient for this year's award was Narges Mohammadi, an Iranian dissident, now in an Iranian prison for her outspoken messages and activism for women's rights. Narges' two twin children spoke on her behalf at this event prior to Angelina's singing. They are Angelina's age and haven't seen their mother in years. She was able to speak with both before her performance. I'm sure this performance was a very poignant moment for Angelina--one quarter Iranian herself, and whose grandmother Mery is full Iranian. If you watched any of the videos of Angelina, you know the love between her and her grandmother is palpable--it's a beautiful thing to behold. I loved everything about this performance, and I appreciate your obvious caring for this lovely young women, no longer girl, as well.

John Gary vs Angelina Jordan Unchained Melody
One of the most memorable experiences of my life was seeing John Gary perform live in Seattle, WA, when I was 20 years old. He had such a powerful and beautiful voice that filled the whole auditorium. During the break, he sat down on the edge of the stage and played his guitar, singing Unchained Melody with so much emotion and passion. It was a sublime moment that I shared with my wife, and I felt like we were the only ones in the room. At that time, I thought to myself; how could anyone top that performance, but 56 years later a 17-year-old Angelina Jordan just did.

What a fabulous emotional and heartwarming reaction and response to our barefoot princess ! Angelina delivered the most reverent, respectful and dignified performance I have ever seen by her ! The Nobel Peace prize event is probably the most prestigious event of each year ! Angelina was invited back a second time in her short life and became the only singer to ever be invited back twice. She took the song "Unchained Melody " and gave it the most gracious and wonderful performance that was needed at this magnificent event. Angelina is an exquisite, eloquent and stunningly beautiful young woman. Her performance was masterful and the very best I have ever witnessed in my life. I agree with the pride that you feel when you have watched Angelina grow up from a young child. singing to now at 18 is one of the most satisfying and coveted emotional feelings you can have. I know all the angels feel the same way you when they hear her sing. now. She is family and always has been family to me because I love her so dearly. She has never changed. Never wavered. The first song I ever heard Angelina sing was “Unchained Melody” back when she was 9 years old… I’ve been listening to “Unchained Melody” since 1955. Long before the Righteous Brothers covered it in 1965. The song was waiting for this moment and Angelina to come along. Written for a movie where a prisoner is longing for his wife… In the movie, Todd Duncan sings the song from a prison cell he shares with other inmates... But, this is the real deal now. A real tragedy. Angelina is singing for the Nobel laureate. A women’s rights activist who is sitting in an Iranian prison cell facing 31 years of sentences. She hasn’t seen her family in 9 years. And, they’re sitting there in front of Angelina as she sings... Imagine the emotion… Angelina presents this song softly, delicately and respectfully. A completely different presentation than she did last September in Portsmouth, NH. And, completely different than the Righteous Brothers' rendition in 1965. She could have easily sung the song and the ending with more power. But, she was delivering a message of loss and longing to loved ones who were right there with her. Absolutely the right artist, in the right place at the right moment... Clearly the best rendition ever of this iconic song.👣👣💕💕💕

It's Angelina's arrangement for this special concert that I'm sure others will fill you in on the background of this occasion. I feel the same as you having watched/listened to Angelina for 6 years now, except she is like a granddaughter instead of a niece. The ending with that crystal clear falsetto gives me goosebumps every time & brings me to tears. It's just GORGEOUS, as is she in that beautiful dress.

The ability this girl has to captivate and move the people who listen to her is absolutely incredible, as is her sensitivity in choosing and interpreting the song for this ceremony. This performance of hers is charming and wonderfully intimate, she made this legendary song perfectly suited for the occasion of the tribute to Narges Mohammadi's story! I was moved to see and hear Angelina singing in such an incredibly mature and charming way 7 years after the last time and in the same studio and certainly also with some of the musicians who accompanied her as a child, when she took her first steps towards his musical future. This meant alot to Angelina as its for an Iranian woman sitting in prison in Iran for standing up for womens rights in Iran.As you know Angelinas grandma Merry is Iranian and biorn in Iran and they are very close, Two peas in a pot . The song was wrote for a prisoner in prison longing to see his family he missed. Angelina knows how to pick the correct songs for the right occasian. She toned this down for this tribute. I have never seen Angelina look more angelic, graceful, elegant and just exuding CLASS. The mindbending, incomparable beauty of her voice, her majestic vocal mastery and her overwhelming talent have never been more stunningly demonstrated. Hey cutie face. This is such an emotional song for me, for a number of reasons. Our little girl is all grown up. 18 yrs old. For me its been six and a half years to watch her go from six years old to eighteen. Also she completely floored us in New Hampshire with this song. She looks like an actual angel here. Adrianna, I have been a sub of yours for quite some time. I’m not sure, not being a reactor content provider, if you can tell how long, but it’s been a while. There are so many reactors who you can tell, and it is quite obvious, do not care so much about the music as they do the amount of likes and subscribers that they get. I understand that you appreciate, likes and subscribers, but, it is also quite obvious that you are genuinely appreciative of Angelina Jordan. I actually do not understand how people do not get the fact that this is a once in a lifetime deal. We are not going to see someone else like her in our lifetime. Thank you for your reaction.
