- WWE 2K15 is one of the most polarizing wrestling games in history, a game that is single handedly responsible for the downfall of WWE games. A game that had so much hype and promise, but fell flat on every level.. well minus the graphics. When I think of WWE 2K15 I think of depression... However there are fans out there who that when they think of WWE 2K15, they actually think of happiness, and fond memories. Why is that you may ask, well they played the game on the PS3 and XBOX 360. They never had the same issues that the PS4/XBOX ONE had. So lets go back and take a look at WE 2K15... But on the PS3 & XBOX 360?

As someone with only a 360 back then this did the job and I can't lie, I did really have fun with it as it was essentially a reskinned 2K14

And so was 2k16 and 17 but if it ain’t broke DONT FIX IT
We never even got the cool menu

WWE 2K15 on the 360 was my middle school years. It was the game that made me into an HBK fan, and it was a fun time to play through the Showcase and get invested in the storylines. Plus, i did get my hands on some DLC before 2K delisted them
I did buy the accelerator before it was removed but I never got the other DLC
2K15 (on PS4) was the only year that I bought all of the DLC packs. I would end up not doing that again.

It was the game (on 360) that made me a fan of hbk and hhh as I just learned of that rivalry from that.

as a kid who didn’t have a ps4/xb1 growing up this game was golden😭adding the triple powerbomb and all the other new omg moments like the outside dives and sami zayn’s ddt make the gameplay slightly better than 2k14, but i do still prefer 2k14 cause of the roster

2K15 next gen still saddens me to this very day. The terrible gameplay, the reduced amount of content, and the lackluster features it does have, just wow. But I’m genuinely surprised that the last gen versions of 15, 16, and 17 retain the same fun gameplay and features as 14. For the most part, they succeeded a lot better. While 14 is still better than the other aforementioned games, they were still better than the next gen versions. What a time to be alive😅.

Wait WHAT? This game had a Super Cena mode?! That is awesome. I played this game so much back in the day, and I never realized that was a thing. Who Got NXT is a way better mode than Next Gen's Career Mode.
2K15 was basically a love letter to the early PG era of WWE. With all the DLC, you had 3 whole showcases about the era (Punk/Cena, Christian One More Match and the Hall of Pain) with most of 2011's shows and PPVs being in the game, the roster was great and hadn't suffered the mass exodus of wrestlers that happened after the game's release (Hogan, Rey, Cody, Punk, Del Rio, AJ Lee, Khali) and the gameplay was the same greatness from 2K14. 2K14 was great, but with CC down now, it kinda sucks doing Universe mode because the only retro arenas are the PPVs - 15 has an absolute ton ranging from the 80s to the early 2010s. The game was also the last to really touch the Ruthless Agression and Golden Eras of WWE (at least until 2K22 in RA's case).
Sure it took out create a story, create a finisher and custom music for non-caws and teams, but it was still a great game that didn't have any of the issues that plagued the games pre-2K14 (13 basically not having a 2 count due to a coding bug and 12's broken ass reveral timings).
People underrate the game just because of it's association with the piece of shit next gen version - if that association didn't exist than people would see that the game is easily in the Top 10 wrestling games ever made, alongside 2K14.
Hey Pav, you should do a video on the 360/PS3 versions of 2k16 and 17! These are weird versions of those two games that barely anyone remembers or played. They are 2k16 and 17 but like this one, they’re still on the 2k14 engine, so it’s weird as hell seeing guys like Nakamura, Styles and Balor on that old gen engine
a video on those would probably retread the same points as this one, but those versions deserve respect too

I remember running out and getting PS3 2K16 after they announced the modern brand split because I wanted a game that already had newer wrestlers and an active community creations. I got my $15 at GameStop worth screwing around on Universe
The engine is actually of svr 2011 being used until the 2k17 on ps3 and Xbox 360

The biggest issue with 2k15 on 360/ps3 was the removal of modes such as create a story, create a finisher and custom music. It wasn't necessary, but I guess they did it so people would pick up the next gen version instead.
i had 2k16 on ps3 and i definitely had fun with it. stone cold's showcase was so good, but not having career mode was a bit of a bummer because i watched those mycareer series on youtube. still a fun game looking back
It's crazy how the last gen managed to beat the future gen of the game.
i played 2k16 on the ps3 cuz we were too broke for a ps4 at the time, when i got the game i remember it felt like christmas that day and i was so excited to play it. when it downloaded i remember getting hit with hello world by kid ink and just getting a wave of excitement throughout my body. i didnt care about new gen or better graphics i just played for the gameplay and game modes. one of the best wwe2k games in my opinion and it was genuinely a fun time, i'll always miss the games i played on the ps3.

the one thing that sucked about the last gen games is that they still wanted $60 when you were literally just paying for a roster update and showcase mode🤦🏾♀️2k17 didn’t even have a showcase if i remember correctly, so i basically paid $60 for the 4 horsewomen
Recently watched Deonte's vid on the 360 version of this game and it really just is 2K14 updated... something the actual 2K15 somehow couldn't do
The showcase mode had some of the best promo packages. I will never forget that Armageddon promo of HBK and HHH.
This is the version of 2K15 i had, and was so confused watching other people playing it looking so differently.
Man, it's crazy. I was just thinking about this game until the other day. I have 2 copies of it for the PS3. I am old school I like me some next gen graphics but if a game is terrible it is that. The WWE games that where still being released on the older systems at like 2k15 to 2k17 where still a lot of fun to play. Awesome Vid ❤
This game was my childhood my first ever wrestling game that I loved and still will always have a place in my heart.i didn’t know even know there was a next gen version so when I found out people hated 2k15 I was so confused cause the game I played kept me occupied for months js tweaking and playing the showcase mode over and over. Me and my dad rented it on Redbox and I instantly fell in love with the game so I was the happiest kid in the world when I got it for Christmas
2K15 on the Xbox One broke my heart so bad, it was never the same for me with the series from that point onward. Great review man, had no idea the 360/PS3 was any good!

One thing I remembered about Proving Ground was that because DQ and Count-Out were enforced, I was able to cheese the mode by going outside the ring, luring Cena for a Barricade OMG, and slide back into the ring just before the ref reached 10. XDDDD
WWE 2K15 on the PS3 gives me so many memories because it was the last WWE game I played before I got my PS3. Also WHO GOT NXT was fun as hell to play, It was actually challenging to beat main roster guy 2K that how “ Legend “ difficulty should be 😂😂😂

I have 2K17 on a 360 and it is indeed a reskinned 2K14. I loved it! Another thing I loved was that you could use custom music from your 360!

This version of the game was probably updated (in terms of graphics and probably technical part). But the gameplay was so damn good that it doesn't matter. I even play it sometimes. Great video, mate!

As someone who didnt play next gen until 2018 even then i only played 2k16 nd 18 i appreciate the video. I spent so many months trying to create 2000-01 versions of raw nd smackdown only to never see that ps3 again lol

dude ive been waiting SO LONG for someone to ackowledge this game, its one of my favorites of all time and its a goated game because i grew up playing it.
I can't believe this game came out 10 years ago bruh, I had this on the xbox 360 and remember being so dissapointed that it wasn't nearly as good as 2k14

I was a part of the people who complained about not getting the features that next gen got. But this video enlightened me and I realized that I had it pretty damn good. Loved this game.

My first ever 2k game was 2K16 on the ps3, which I still have and I loved it, and then I saw how good it looked, I saw the gameplay and I got so confused, everybody was saying it was a mid game and I kept trying to understand why they were complaining about a game that was the same as 2K14 with a great showcase mode, but now I understand.

I had 15, 16, and 17 all on 360. 15 I didn't like too much just because I felt the roster was too small and 17 just felt depressing and had absolutely nothing to do outside of Universe. 16 on the other hand I loved and remember having so much fun with playing awesome matches until the middle of the night
I remember getting this for Christmas when I was 10 and it was my first proper wrestling game, and it completely re-ignited my love for WWE. PS3 2k15 had me loving wrestling again until like WM33 or 34, and after 2k22 reeled me back in again, I wanna go back to 2k15 to remind myself what started my love for wrestling games all over again

Sir those games are actually alot better then the previous console don't think u remember but like 2k17 we literally got no showcase mode on ps3 and 360
@@WrestlinGifs I think 2K16 on last gen was better than this version they made slight improvements, plus they got incredible models for Orton and Cena but 2K17 is basically bare bones nothing is in there
I think in 2K17 the showcase was cut in every version until 2K19.
This was my first WWE game; I got it on whim because at the time I just looked for games I can play with my little brother and once we wrapped our head around how reversals worked we played nothing else for at least a few months. I didn't watch the show at the time but this made me a CM Punk fan and I remember being disappointed when he wasnt in 2K16 and I didn't know why
I really wish that wwe 2k14 was backwards compatible with the Xbox one because I want to relive the good old days

This was my 2K15. I heard how bad the og was and I didn't have an XBOX ONE or PS4 at the time. Add to the fact that we still got the 4 showcase mode DLC's with Christian's One More Match, Mark Henry's Hall of Pain, Ric Flair's Career and Ultimate Warrior's final run. This game was worth it and was a rather fitting end to my 360 wrestling gaming experiences.

Honestly i just played 2k15 on the Ps3 last year because i wanted to try it and i had mostly the same reaction but i think some RUclipsrs playing the Xbox One Version was fun , there is German RUclips Legend called Erne , he runs the Channel FeelgamingTV , he started in WWE2K15 playing the Career Mode with his own created Superstar called El Rille , imagine a german funnier version of DenkOps , i always had fun watching his WWE2K videos from 2k15 all the way to 2K23, i hope this year when 2K24 Drops he gets back into the Story with EL Rille

Didn't realise I had the chance to play one more fun wrestling game. I only had a ps3 and tried 2k15 on a friends ps4 and thought it bad that I gave up on wrestling games until 2k18 and that drove me even further away till 2k22

I got 2k15-17 on the last gen. Those were fun times. The only reason I got into the next gen was because a storm took place one night and it basically fried my PS3. So I got PS4, 2k17, and the rest was history.
This is how I played 2k15, I remember I always used to redo the last match of the Hbk hhh showcase in the cell and acting out the moves in my living room,I beat cena with neville and it was probably the hardest match I’ve ever done (I haven’t played beat the streak)

You forgot the other showcases and the Benoit part had me crying and spitting my monster out
2K15 on next gen was something different and while it set up what would become more of the norm of gameplay with 2K's WWE games including the addition to fully change attires, there was a lot of match ups taken away. I have both versions of the game and I can outright say the last gen version was the best version, it may not look as pretty as next gen but almost everything from 2K14 was there. What hurt me the most with it at the time was no custom music to update guys like Dean Ambrose/Jon Moxley in that time frame. Other than that it was still fun, you had all the matches that were missing from next gen all there such as 1on1 ladder matches(which come on why are there no 1on1 ladder matches) the I quit match, the special guest ref match, including backstage brawl would be there(which wouldn't come back till 2K17 in 2016). Backstage Brawls was one of the things that added real feel to WWE games especially with how many brawls happened backstage which it was shocking to see it not in 2K15 or 2K16. The I Quit Match, Special Guest Ref Match, and Backstage Brawls Matches were the only reason I bought both versions of 2K16 as it felt 2K16 even though better on next gen than 2K15 next gen with almost all matches bought back things still felt missing.

I am one of the select few who actually really enjoyed this game on my 360. I bought this back in 2015 because I was just getting back into watching WWE after a 5 year hiatus, and I wanted to see what their current game was like (last one I had played was SvR ‘11) and it didn’t disappoint at all since I had no idea that it was just repackaged 2k14 😂
We had a lot of fun playing this with my cousins and I spent multiple hours on this game that I’ll never forget
This is the version I had. I remember being so disappointed that there was no next gen graphics. But in the end, I had my fun with it. I could create female wrestlers and nothing was broken.

its fascinating how there are versions of games on less powerful hardware that are actually quite good or offer its own content not available on the "better" versions, now i'm wondering if WWE 2K16 and 2K17 are worth buying for PS3/360
As a kid with a 360 this was my go to for years. Loved it.
Seeing this just makes me miss the old smackdown vs raw days as well as WWE 12-2K14. I hope 2K24 restores at least some old fun the old gen games.

I got this for Christmas and loved it so much, beat the showcase and who got nxt in one day just staying up playing it, but was sad cause I didn’t have a next gen so I spent a lot of days watching my career and gameplay on new gen , I really did like 2k15 not as much as 14 but the new Gen just looked so nice and I definitely let the graphics get the best of my judgement because I didn’t play the game
I played 2k15 (next gen version) as a kid on my terrible pc, it played at like barely 20 fps on slow motion and I kinda had fun playing the cm punk story. But for 2k16, I bought it for my ps3 and had a banger, still remember the story and everything, and love the old versions .

WWE 2K14 - 2K17 on PS3/XBOX 360 were same, but so good
I was definitely one of those people that played the 360 version. I remembered it very fondly especially along with the banger soundtrack on the game. Playing online with some friends made it even a fun experience.

I remember I got this version for Christmas thinking it would have the Career Mode, still poured so many hours that my disk barely works
I was a wwe fan back when I was 8 and in 2014 I began watching it again and that's why I bought 2k15 on the ps3 at this time and I really enjoyed it. I'm glad that I bought my ps4 later and then got 2k16 on the ps4
The 360 versions of 15,16,17 are some of my most played wrestling games probably some of my favorite too lol

This was the poor kids’ version, I had it growing up and that “Who Got NXT” Mode was crazy. Maybe it was just the PS2 era gamer in me but I never thought the game looked that bad though.

i played 15,16, and 17 on the ps3, and they all gave me soo much fun
I played this on ps3. Did some old recipes for community creations and i was plagued with requests to do nothing but divas so i stopped cause it wasn't what i was aiming for or trying to do.

My personal favorite addition was instead of MyCareer the old gen players had "Who Got NXT" which was my personal favorite of the game

all honesty I never hated wwe 2k15, but thats because my brother and I would always play this after visiting my dad from the hospital(hes well now) and made us feel much better(thats the game my brother and I heavily bonded to) and I didn't remember stumbling upon alot of bugs if any(maybe we just got lucky or I managed to forget it)
so in a weird way to me wwe 2k15 was my favorite
I played 2k16 on Last gen with expectations of it being 2k14 3.0 and I enjoyed it fully. Best thing about that game was how they brought back older WWE ‘13-‘14 retro models that actually look young for most of the characters unlike next gen that just pasted hair on the modern models of retro stars.
Biggest issue with the game as victory songs we’re always the default attire theme so if you we’re playing as Ministry Taker and he came out to that theme, the victory would instead play Graveyard symphony, Play as Rock ‘03 he comes out to the Hollywood theme but the victory would instead play the Nation theme so that ruined lots of fun for me.
