I agree 1,000%!! I’ve been saying there should be a rental cap in all states! I live on the Cape, and a 1-2bdrm crappy, slummy house/apt are renting at $2,000 and up! It’s absolutely ridiculous! Too many greedy, uncaring landlords who don’t care about anything but $$.. If there were rental caps, they’d be forced to rent at affordable prices.

I have never been evicted so I can't imagine how it feels. When I was 18 y/o back in 1980 my mother talked me into spending my savings and paying $1,250 on a used mobile home. I'm 61 now and still live in that same mobile home today. Haven't paid rent in 43 years. I own the one acre land it sets on. When COVID-19 hit I was so thankful I didn't have to worry about eviction. It's not fancy but I keep it repaired and fully functional. I'm retired now and so grateful for my home🥰

They're living on someone else's land there. Whoever that is, they can either provide them a room (if they're paying that person rent to be on the land) or they can find another place to live. That's a terrible place to live. It's not his fault that they're living in the shed that he needs to repo. If he didn't do his job, he'd be out on the street, too.

I used to think about doing a shed/tiny home, but the camper has all the utilities, plumbing, electric, propane lines, tanks and can operate off a generator or propane. Can sleep up to 5 and has bunks and a full bath. It's an "85" but she's all mine.Housing is a serious issue in America today, I hope it changes for the better soon.

I've lived in a nice RV park for almost 4 years with 2 of my dogs. Primarily because even tho I make a good income the house market is absolutely ridiculous and it's just not worth owning a traditional house today. How anyone can justify paying 250k, 350k, 450k for a home is beyond my comprehension. I'm not going to be a follower and jump into that bucket. Yeah I could afford it, but it's not worth it. I just bought 1 acre outside the city and it's unrestricted. Has decent neighbors who keep their place clean. I'm working on getting everything set up to put in a quality built "tiny house", driveway, trees, water, electric, etc.

I kind of feel bad for these people… but then I think about all the work I do to stay off drugs (former addict) and all the mornings I get up at 3am to go earn money at my job.
Stay off drugs and go to work and your house won’t get taken away usually…

That's so nasty. How do people live in a mess like that? I'm disabled, live in a 32' travel trailer, and I keep it clean and tidy. It takes me awhile and causes me a lot of pain but I get it done.

I have thought about buying some property and a large travel trailer, having utilities installed and moving onto it while having a permanent house built. It probably won't happen as long as my father is alive (he lives with me and was recently put on supplemental oxygen so the trailer thing is probably not doable right now) but it is tempting.

You can own very little, I've been there. But you can still be clean and neat. My parents always taught me to take care of my things. That's the way I was raised. My mom kept things neat and clean. At 65, it's alittle more challenging with a big house. Not as good as I used to be.

This is a sad situation all around. People buy things they can't afford, don't have jobs, and don't know how to prioritize a simple cost-free way of keeping their life organized and live in a dump they created. I know what it's like to be out of money, but I have always taken care of my junk in a neat manner and constantly worked to improve my situation. It sometimes takes years for things to turn back around, but during that time I stayed as "clean" as I could be. There is no excuse for living like this and this property is a trash dump. I noticed the beer bottles in the garbage can. While I cannot say they were from the girl who repo man made contact with, it's about priority on how you spend your money all ways around. Repo man was a gentleman, and so were the residents - compassion for people less fortunate is paramount. While in no way am I passing judgment on the shed owner - it's clear there is no organization in her life. I know many of us wish we could help people out of binds like this, but we sometimes barely have enough of our own resources to get by. I hope the girls recover from this event. Repo man is awesome!

I started to cry when I seen her loose everything ! I do know of hitting rock bottom and not having anything . When me and my Bf split he had everything turned off and nobody wanted to turn electricity , water and gas on unless I would pay his bills first and I have to say I had found out that day that he had not paid for 6 month . I was not gonna pay his bills so I became homeless for about a week . It about killed me but I made it thru it and I got my camper set up on a friend's property and lived there until winter hit and then I lived with a good friend .
I honestly felt really bad for this young gal and I was ready to make that payment for her but of course I realized it would have been to late . I would have helped her ! I do hope though that she got her life back on track now ! God bless you all !
People need to be more understanding instead of judging this family , have more compassion and empathy ! We don't know what happened that they are in this situation!

I used to deliver refrigerators to customers and haul away their old ones. I found that 99% of the people never cleaned out the old refrigerators until I showed up with the new ones. I had to dictate a new policy that stated I wasn't going to take the old one away if it wasn't cleaned out before I got there. I left people with a lot of old appliances.
