IDK HOW you chose these 4, but…absolutely brilliant!!! They’re so lovely & so adventurous!!
I’d LOVE for them to cook for Westerners or just to actually see what they eat in a day!!
Pretty sure they were all friends since they were children before this. Except for Gul (mustache) who they became friends with later on as he lived somewhere else. Thought I saw in one past video where Chaudary said he was the first to be asked to do the videos....then he asked all his friends to join even though they were very hesitant. In the end, I bet you they are glad they did!!
@@TS-ui3lv ~ That must be a video I’ve missed!! Thanks for the info and YES, I’m super glad they chose them….they’re LOVELY!!!
In Hawaii at the more local eateries, we get 2 hamburger patties and 2 eggs and a lot more brown gravy with a side of macaroni salad..........dunno if you should let them try our most famous dish called Lau Lau, it's pork and fish wrapped in taro leaf and steamed for hours........really tasty but looks kinda like a cow paddy(turd)..............aloha!
Hate to break it to you but it's against their religion to eat pork.
@@Pops6185 laulau can be made with brisket, or chicken too. Most dishes in general can be made with substitutions no?
@@nikkicrayons808 Not saying that no sub can be used, just pointing out that pork is forbidden for them.
@@Pops6185 Ouch!........sorry didn't know......but yeah, you can use fish ,chicken , beef, sweet potato......anykine.
They should try an original Nick Tahou's garbage plate. The bottom layer is macaroni salad, home fries and baked beans, topped with a hamburger patty w/ cheese and/or a red hot (beef hotdog), then smoothered with a chili meat sauce.
Roughly translated it means crazy boogers in Spanish.
YES! i'd been asking for this :D
MashAllah !
Watching from Uk now this must be the seventh or eighth time TPT have eaten food I have never had .
I go straight to find a receipe .
Trotters gravy?? How did it get that name? I do make great gravy. ;)
Some of the best comfort food
A big yes to the camera angle looking down on the dish, it gives us hungry viewers a much better view of the plate, so we can get even more hungry!
The food looked great too
@@AdaptiveApeHybrid oh yes, compliments to their genius chef!
True !
+1
hahaha i was like woah!!!!!!! the camera team stepping up big time
From Wikipedia....."The dish was reportedly created at the Lincoln Grill restaurants in Hilo, Hawaii, in 1949 by its proprietors, Richard Inouye and his wife, Nancy, at the request of teenagers from the Lincoln Wreckers Sports club seeking something that differed from a sandwich, was inexpensive, and yet could be quickly prepared and served. They asked Nancy to put some rice in a bowl, a hamburger patty over the rice, and then top it with brown gravy. The egg came later. The teenagers named the dish Loco Moco after one of their members, George Okimoto, whose nickname was "Crazy” because of his crazy antics. George Takahashi, who was studying Spanish at Hilo High School, suggested using Loco, which is Spanish for crazy. They tacked on "moco" which "rhymed with loco and sounded good".
Thank you. I googled and all I saw was that loco was a Hawaiian word meaning crazy and I was like no it's not, it's Spanish. Lol.
Thanks for the actual story behind it.
Thanks!!! You saved me some research time!!! Actually it would be easy-TM my niece who lives there😂😂😂but this way I’m not looking like the silly ole Auntie!!!
It's really funny that they actually used spanish to name the dish because even though I'm not sure the original people who named it knew Loco Moco actually means "Crazy booger" in s panish and it's so funny and freaky if you don't know what that's about 😆
@@jomichan8920, it sounds so gross in Spanish; I could never talk my husband into eating a tasty dish of “Crazy Mucus”!
@@danielamontana9598 must admit it sounds really off-putting if you speak Spanish lol
11am in the morning is my favorite time to sit down and look for the newest video of all our four uncles! 😁♥️ Got my tea and snacks, and about to watch this one!! 😎
I've never heard of it. I grew up dirt poor and dinner was pretty much whatever my mother could scrape together from what was available at the time. This looks like a concoction she would come up with. We never went hungry but mealtime was often an adventure.
God bless her
this food was made mostly by the sugarcane farmers who were working on the plantation during 1900s. but now everyone eats it and it has become one of the main staple dish in hawaii...
This Hawaii born human approves!!!!! This is one of my favorite dishes and it made me so happy to see you all enjoy it.

Would anything besides a human be commenting on RUclips?
@@weld_dat_fakah740 the distinction i was making is that i am local to Hawai'i but not Kanaka (native Hawai'ian)
Ho nah
I’m always amazed by the presentation and preparation of the foods. Do you guys have a professional chef that makes the dishes? And I’ll definitely try doctor Tahir’s suggestion of raw onion with lemon juice. Sounds like a great side dish when eating heavy/oily foods
"I never have had eggs with rice."
If only they could try the Philippines's tapsilog. Tapsilog is a dish that is combine of sunny side up egg, fried rice and Beef tapa (Beef jerky).
My wife is Filipina, I'd love for them to try adobo, or lechon, or lumpia some time.
And/or some tocino and garlic rice
@@Shrykespeare ommggg yeess 😍😍 and because Chaudhary is a sweet tooth, I think he might also love the Halo halo dessert.
As a Hawaiian

@@mongo5599 He probably just didn’t know where they’re from, it’s the compliment that counts
Aloha from Maui I love you guys!
Literally translated in to Spanish
"Loco Moco" means crazy booger, not the most appetizing name for a dish.🤔
Don't translate the phrase. See my comment above.
I'm in Texas, and we have a couple good Hawaiian restaurants here..loco Moco is delicious! I tell you, it's very filling.. It'll keep you full quite a while!
In texas we call it smothered hamburger steak and onion gravy... minus the egg
It’s a surfer breakfast … and if you’ve ever surfed … there’s a reason they need all that energy! There’s a reason you don’t see very many fat surfers around.
Thank you for the kind words for a dish that means so much to our culture. In Hawaii rice is similar to your Roti as it is eaten with many dishes. Thank you again much Love & Aloha ❤
I love your people, your islands and your food!!my favourite is lao lao with chilli water!!
I've always wanted to know if they go home and make these new meals for family??? If the ingredients are available to them.
Yep I remember Chaudhary and Tahir had mentioned in some videos that they've tried remaking the dishes they tried here 😁 but they couldn't find some ingredients and tried their best substituting them. Can't remember what videos they mentioned this in, it was two different videos, but I remember them saying that they did try!
Funny you should ask. i'm working on a big project, it's going to take a while, but i'm compiling a visual cookbook for them. Most, if not all are self-professed to be illiterate, so i'm designing a cookbook of their favorite things from the channel, comprised with nothing but pictures and numbers. it's a lot of work, but it'll be amazing when it's done. after i send it to them, i'll post a pdf of it online for everyone.

I spent 3 years in Hawaii (U.S.Army), and ate a lot of Loco Moko-it was offered almost everywhere. So was Semein (ramein)-you could even get it at McDonald's, served with fish cake and char sui pork! Darn it, now l'm hungry! 🍜🍥

I don't know why but this reminded me of Joey on Friends when he ate the trifle that Rachel made. "Eggs - GOOD, Beef - GOOD, Peas - GOOD, Custard and Jam - GOOD". Now, I know that Loco Moco is awesome. It just hit me funny.
Great episode.

I’m early! Love this channel and all involved! Thanks for spreading joy! Love from Texas, USA! 💜
The Loco Moco is considered one of the most popular dishes in Hawaii and is even served in several Hawaiian restaurants on the mainland. This dish has many variations, but the original Loco Moco was reportedly created at a restaurant in the town of Hilo, on the island of Hawaii in 1949. The dish came in response to requests from a group of teenagers seeking a dish that was an inexpensive alternative to a sandwich, but was still quick and easy to serve. The response was a bowl of rice and a hamburger patty, topped with brown gravy. The teenagers named the dish Loco Moco after one of their sports club members named Loco, and added the Moco simply because it rhymed. The fried egg was later added and now completes the local favorite.
Thanks for the explanation.
That sounds AMAZING!!!!!!!!
I had the *EXACT SAME* reaction as these men when I first heard "loco moco" .....Then I ate. ...I am forever a fan of Loco Moco
The name made me laugh too! In Spanish "loco moco" means "crazy snot"!
Read my comment above about the origin of this dish. Don't translate the phrase.

Good afternoon from Canada. We love the tribal people so much 🥰 🇨🇦
Yes we do!🇨🇦
Crazy.. I literally just got done eating a fried rice Loco moco for lunch!! Just an FYI from someone born and raised Hawaii... it should have a brown gravy
We use the white gravy on roast pork or chicken patty most the time.
If you’re from Hawaii, you’ll know what loco moco is: rice with hamburger pattie, an over easy on top smothered with brown gravy all over! That’s a favorite in Hawaii!
Loco Moco is one of my favorites ❣️ SO delicious glad you guys got to enjoy it also.
when i was in hawaii i at this dish often. i choose the version that used SPAM and it was so good every time.
Yeah, the Spam version is better, but I understand why they couldn't have it (definitely not halal)!
@@luckydelauta3859 I always do teriyaki version, spam does sound good though.
Great reactions as always! These men are so fun and interesting to view. God’s many blessings to them and their families!!
It sure looks yummy when you're really hungry!!! I'll have to remember to eat before I watch these gentlemen next time. I think it was a hit with all of them. :-)
Thank you to the creator for bringing us this content, we love you folks!
A big mahalo to the Tribal People Try for trying Hawaii's Loco Moco! Hope you try more foods from Hawaii. 💖
This has been one of my favorite dishes for a long time. Rice with eggs is so delicious!
Awe! Coming from Honolulu, Hawaii, Loco moco is super popular! I believe the "loco" part stands for "local" and "moco" meaning "mix". Hawaiian food is world-renowned for its melting pot of cultures used in its food dishes. This is one of those examples! So sweet to see these men eating food from my home town! 🥰👍🤙🏼
What's a funny twist is I'm Mexican, and Moco for us is a nickname for booger, so this dish translates to "crazy booger" for us 🤣🤣🤣
@@skylarmathison1481 lmao! 🤣 oh sh*t. I laughed so hard reading this that's great 🤣🤣🤣
Loco Moco is not authentic Hawaiian food. We Polynesians never ate rice until the Asians came with the white people lol
@@chewy6487 no sh*t Sherlock. True Hawaiian food consists of very plain and simple things. Similar to Native Indians native food. When cultures get mixed up by other cultures it's inevitable that their new foods consist of other cultures. For example, fry bread?? Yeah that is definitely Native American food influenced my white man. So what.
@@Omoroseangel don’t call it Hawaiian that’s all I’m saying. Maybe call it, Foreigners in Hawaii food LOL our ancestors would spit that rice out and ask wtf is this? LOL
Anyone else noticed how they are all getting more proficient with the cutlery. I just love these guys and their comments!
These gentlemen should be protected.
Never heard of loco moco, but it looks amazing, and those eggs, oh my God! Here in Spain we commonly eat a dish that looks quite similar: "Arroz a la Cubana", or Cuban rice. It is typically white rice covered in tomate frito (a sauce a little bit like ketchup), and topped with a fried egg. I love it. A lot of people also put a banana on top, but I prefer not to.
Thank you for trying Loco Moco! As a Hawaii local, this makes me very happy! I’m glad they enjoyed it! I hope you can try even more Hawaii cuisine in the future! We have so much Asian-inspired/local dishes for you to try! I think they might like lomi salmon. Or you can be a little more adventurous and try Poke. Which for a lot of people, can be a bit of an accustomed taste. Regardless, I always look forward to your uploads to see what the men are trying today!
🌺Aloha and Mahalo from Hawaii!🌺

I absolutely love loco moco, it has a very nostalgic comfort food notes to it.
I was so excited to see them try Loco Moco! I live in Hawaii and was so Happy they enjoyed it. Love and Aloha to you
Loco moco is a dish featured in contemporary Hawaiian cuisine. There are many variations, but the traditional loco moco consists of white rice, topped with a hamburger, a fried egg, and brown gravy. Variations may include bacon, ham, Spam, tofu, kalua pork, Portuguese sausage, teriyaki beef, teriyaki chicken, mahi-mahi, shrimp, oysters, and other meats.
Loco Moco - looks delicious, I don't see any weird ingredients in it that would ruin it for me.
The 2 most important ingredients are your favorite hamburger patty and favorite brown gravy. Layer: sticky white rice, hamburger, gravy, and eggs. Add grilled onions and/ or mushrooms and ENJOY!,,,,,,,your welcome
Loco moco = crazy booger in Spanish LOL
Yeah. But its not a spanish word.
That looks really good. This is the first time hearing of this so I will have to try myself. Good job to the chef.
Can you try Filipino food …
Like adobo, caldereta and halo halo
They've tried way more dishes than I have at this point
This is a great show, can’t wait to see more !❤️😂
This and a serving of Spam Musubi, my favorite meal!
What is Spam Musubi?
@@kaliflower9197 it’s a Japanese inspired Hawaiian hybrid type dish. It’s styled after Japanese onigiri (rice ball wrapped in seaweed), it has variations but most traditionally is usually: rice and nori (seaweed), with spam, sometimes teriyaki, furikake, or other seasoning. In Hawaii they’re a big staple and are found anywhere from restaurants to on-the-go snacks at gas stations.
They should try America's southern chicken and dumplings with peach cobbler.
Hey! Love this dish here on Maui Hawaii🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴😝😝😝🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺
Chaudhary:"it is so heavy. No one could eat more than one plate:"
Hawaiians: "Hold my coconut milk."
So I'm curious. With everything these gentleman have experienced, Do you think that they have introduced new meal ideas to their families??
All it is is rice, hamburger patty, egg and gravy, I’ll get the frozen preformed patties and grill or pan sear then an over easy egg and I’ll use the already made beef gravy in a jar, or I’ll sometimes make the gravy with beef stock and cornstarch to thicken and add what ever seasoning you want.
I’ve never heard of loco moco to be honest.
Mr. Rana: "The egg is flowing like a volcano!"
People in Hawaii: "The volcano is flowing like an egg!"
Mr Nawab is the kindest and most gentle soul I've ever seen.
If we were all raised as he was, the Earth would be a very peaceful place.
God bless you all my friends.
The soft yolk is suppose to cause a umami flavor to the dish. As the yolk spread it combines with the other ingredients to infuse its flavor. What is the definition of loco moco in Hawaiian?
Crazy booger, apparently.
Fried egg over easy or sunny side up with soft yolk is most popular in the world but not in your country. You harden the yolk. I prefer fresh eggs either poacher or soft boiled
L&L BBQ here in Las Vegas has the best loco moco in town! At least twice a month I'm there stuffing my face!
I've never had this myself, but it looks tasty! A bit like a salisbury steak topped with an egg
One day you're going to have to explain to them that eggs that are still runny are actually cooked and perhaps explain to them why people in the west like them that way.
I'm going to try so.e sliced onions made the way Tahir mentioned, with lemon juice and salt. It sounds good.
Please have them try Tres Leches cake, I know Chaudhary would love it
Eggs with rice is always good in my opinion
I'm curious to know if they ask for the recipes to give to their wives to fix for everyone later?
I really like these men. Their comments always remain true to their individual personalities
From my home town hilo, hawaii! About the only interesting thing from hilo. Haha
This is breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The egg is fried “sunny side up”
I had never heard of this ( I am Canadian and have never traveled to Hawaii) so I had to pause the video to look up what the ingredients were. OH WOW!!! That sounds so absolutely delicious! Either I must try to make this at home, or make my way to Hawaii as soon as possible! Yum!
