My father was an alcoholic and it was this that caused the family to split up some 50 years ago. I stayed with my father, trying to help him get over his addiction, because no matter how sinful this addiction can become you have to forgive. He died as a result of his alcoholism and to this day I believe I did the right thing. I was only one who stood by him, because our lord Jesus Christ came into our world to save sinners and I considered it to be a be my duty as a Christian.
So glad you showed compassion for him John! I believe you are right... God wants us to forgive and to help others in need. Especially our own family.
And he didn’t die alone.... Unfortunately, so many of them do. Like the story of the Uncle in this wonderful movie!

Movies like Milltown Pride provide more than entertainment. Trust, respect, faith and the gift of love from God.
Great storytelling, presentation and acting. The friendship between the two boys through adulthood was incredible and played great by the actors that played those characters.
I remember my first job after being discharged from the Maine Crops in 73. My pay was $2.90 an hour and my rent was $80.00 per month. What a change from than to now. 18 an hour and 750 per month for rent. Now waiting for Jesus to return and take his believers in him to the meeting in the air. Thanks for sharing this movie.

This is a beautiful MOVIE 💜 My brother - in - LAW was an ALCOHOLIIC but my sister is a BELIEVER in the LORD JESUS CHRIST so she had sticked with him through THICK and THIN for 27 years. Their kids had TRAUMATIC experience though . My sister had endured and showed the LOVE of the LORD and prayed for 17 years until my brother - in - LAW joined her in the FAITH ❤️. Though he still have a difficult avoiding ALCOHOL, at least now he drinks once a week and don't BULLY his kids and my sister anymore ❤️🙏💜.

I've noticed that most Christian movies don't have good acting but this movie is blessed with all great actors
A lot of the bob jones ones (especially the old ones) have pretty good, solid actors. the printing & Sheffey being some of them.
Any addiction is a tragedy to see. It’s nice to see a film where family and friends are there to help make things better.
This movie got me to read up on the life of Shoeless Joe Jackson the baseball star banned from baseball due to the 1919 Black Sox betting scandal committed by several Chicago White Sox baseball players during their world series with the Cincinati Reds. I read of the factory mill teams in this area of Greenvile South Carolina and how baseball scouts might come to look at the good ballplayers. This was a part of Baseball history I did not previuosly know and was part of the life of Shoeless Joe Jackson. Good movie for a Baseball fan.

YUP...I CERTAINLY LOVED IT...BASEBALL HAS BEEN A LOVE OF MINE SINCE THE DODGERS PLAYED THE YANKEES IN 53...(Yankees won that series...but I got to see Don Drysdale play...I was pretty young then...today am 72...This movie opened my eyes to where greats came from...various parts of life inspired the game...Enjoyed this very much !!!
@@bigsparky8888 Born in 1953 in St. Louis and Cards fan I still play my Baseball Strat-o-matic game on occasion. My baseball memories of Cards games start in 1960 but I have the 1950 Yankees and 1953 Dodgers oldtimer teams offered by the game. Most of my teams are the ones I remember growing up with all the contender teams of 1960-1971. I later added a few up to 1982. It was bought in 1971 with a few of what were then oldtimer teams. I also have the 1954 Giants and have gotten to know those teams well from the game. Neat that you saw Drysdale in his Brooklyn days.

It's a nice movie strongly recommended praises and thanks the Lord for everything God is good all the time all the time God is good.
But how did God get him to bat before his turn? And why did God tell him to loaf while running the bases is the last inning of a championship game?
Its amazing how some have the addictive gene! Jesus is the only way to freedom, choices daily matter so much! Jesus loves us & wts all our hearts, he's just waiting for us to ask him in!! Thankful forever for his Mercy & Grace!!🙏♥️🙌

Such G O O D qualities soo sore missing in our so called '' m o d e r n world ''.... A world where materialism 'seems' to be the answer. But it n e v e r brings a peace, nor still the aching in the heart. -- What was started in the SPIRIT, cannot be finished in 'the flesh'.
This has become a 'Me' society world. With everything being disposable; diapers, plates, glasses, ideals, people, etc.

This is a great movie. I had the privilege of being Thomas’s grandmother’s last pastor before she went home to be with the Lord. She was such a godly lady. She was also so proud of the job Thomas did on this movie. Mavis was always asking me if watched the movie yet.

I love this movie!
My step father was a alcoholic. A mean one. Use to beat my mother. Every holiday was a nightmare. I hated the man , I rejoiced the day he died. I think he would have been a evil man. Even without the alcohol. Some people just can't be nice. They are empty.
Sounds like he was controlled by demons like some of the stories I have read in the Bible. Maybe he cried out to the Lord and was Saved before he died. I sure hope so.
No one feels 'full' unless you have the love of God in your heart. I had similar upbringing. You can be free of that. I hope you make that happen. With God all things are possible. You deserve it. It's time to be happy.

A pretty good movie and I loved it! Though as a Catholic I don't think it's a sin to drink, however immoderate anything becomes a vice hence a sin. My bio-dad was a drunk. Excessive drinking cost him EVERYTHING. I died broke, lost the family, and eventually his life.

I had a friend that was soo good at hitting homeruns in HS and was such a hard hitter that he'd make you do a double take bc he was such a crusher I mean just absolutely crushing the baseball whenever he'd hit. Soo one day we were playing a HS game in 1995 and the amazeing part was the field was over 300 feet away from the 10 highway in Eudora Kansas. I think that day he decided that he was going to hit one over the Highway since nobody had done it in recent memory had ever done it before and my buddy every time he'd hit a homerun he'd crush the ball soo freaking hard that everybody took notice. Soo he got his pitch and the height of this hit was over 100 feet off the ground and when he hit it we all knew it was going over the fence and sure enough as you watched it it cleared the Highway over 660 some feet from Home plate. Soo everyone took notice to how far this kid hit this homerun. It measured 730 some feet away from home plate where it landed. In my lifetime of watching HS College Professional baseball I still have never seen a baseball hit that far before and why I talk about my buddy is because he was never given the chance to play college or Professional baseball bc the people that run the programs never met him or learned about how strong of a hitter he was. In a baseball camp I watched this guy hit homeruns over a 415 feet fence. You take heed to seeing that happen repeatidly.

So now I know where that “pastor” who prayed during the Congress session awhile back got the idea to say “amen and a-women,” from!! There’s a scene in this film where a guy says that after the blessing over the nutritious lunch of chicken and dumplings. Disgusting!!!
Calm yourself this movie was made in 2011 and I am sure they were not thinking about gender inclusion. Whilst the Congress session was a total travesty
