The first time I heard this song, I'd heard like 2 or 3 songs by KOL, Use Somebody and Sex On Fire and maybe another one. This is the song that blew me away, the one I described as a "beautiful, desperate mess" and is one of the most beautiful and amazingly heart-wrenching songs I have ever heard. This performance of it literally brought tears to my eyes and sent shivers down my spine, I was in awe for ages. This really blew my mind, no one can describe what this song is to me. Amazing.
This was my highlight of Glastonbury 2008, I still proudly wear my festival band from back then and the best memory was this song. Seen the guys 3 times now....they just keep getting better. All the new 'fans' that didn't know one song from before the 'sex on fire' days need to disappear!
Epic performance. My favourite Glastonbury moment ever. Full on grimey, dirty, kick ass rock and roll. Loved it, and still love it. KOL. " We like taking on this town with the Verve and good old Jay-Z."
Ahh I wish I lived in Britain, then I'd have so many chances to see them live this summer!! American fans, step up so we can see our boys on stage at home!!!!!
Kings of leon are one of the Best Bands Ive seen live, alongside Muse and Kasabian. It is an absoloute FACT that they are better live than on CD. Amazing band, such a talented family. Follow-we-will.
i so love the music these guys create! they're the kind of band that totally keeps me in awe everytime i listen to them...this one's a classic for me...i would never get tired listening to this...
Went to see them last night 17/06/11 at Sunderland the atmosphere blew me away. These are probably the best band on the planet at this current time & they proved it last night they were fucking awesome & this tune was unbelievable having said that they didn't play a bad song all night,i've seen a lot of big bands live over the years but these are going to take some beating.
Saw them at MEN last night (Dec 16th 2008). What an awesome show. Matt's guitar sounds beautiful on this and exactly like a pan pipe last night. Just breath taking. Incredibly musicians.
OMG...when i first heard their songs i almost cryed because they were so good and no one is like them...then when i saw what they looked like i almost fainteddd (if thats even a word..lol). then i got even more happier because their all in the same family!:) OH this is not a diss or anything but i think they rock live.. i think the live version is a little bit better then the recoreded versions...because they get better and better each time! :) KOL rock! love them forever!!! :)
i quite agree, for a while i've been waiting for some good stuff. Nivarna were the best, can not be replaced, did lov um & this is just rock'in stuff hope they dont fade away 2 quick keep up the good work KOL
Does anybody remember the lyrics as “always mad an use the drum” instead of usually drunk? I could of sworn it said that I remember looking up what it meant
but there will be another album after this 'long time' ; ), they're taking a well earned break, and because they dont like twiddling their thumbs, they will start recording a couple of months probably
imagine having thousands of people sing the lyrics you wrote back to you?? dear god i will never get tired of them, they are simply amazing.
I get chills when everyone is singing the "whoa oh oh oh..." part.
I get chills when they're live.
Simply, amazing.
Probably their best concert ever.
