Remember introducing my then new girlfriend to “youth and young manhood” and “is this it” and completely changing her taste in music, also took her to see KOL in 2003, now after nearly 20 years married, all 3 of our kids love them too 😂
The End, which is just a masterful, flawless song, and the pure acid rock influence on the epic McFearless, I believe are also criminally underrated. Hell, the whole “Come Around Sundown” album in general is very underrated. When that album is damn near perfect I fiercely love Talihina Sky but only acoustic set version they play at the end of their doc film of the same name. Which I guess makes it doubly underrated🤷🏼♀️😂 That acoustic version where their just sitting in a circle in some big one room, and they play it. And it one of the greatest songs of theirs and in general that I’ve ever heard. Yet the album version, it can’t hold a candle to the acoustic version. As in the acoustic version beats the recorded version, which I never much cared for, TO DEATH. That acoustic one? 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 and one of my all time favorite tracks of theirs. But it has to be that version. So strange that…and so very rock and roll 😂
People say they've sold out and got mainstream, bullshit, everyone has just finally realised how amazing they really are. Keep it up boys, you brighten up my days!
This song made me a fan. Bob Dylan once said, "I like that one song. The dirty one." So classic. A great song is a great song. This song sings of a desperation in one's soul. Touches me. I was once told all great songs are sad. Food for thought!
I am in love with caleb. his voice, his personality, his lyrics, fuck just everything. He is so humble, the whole band are very humble and really nice people. One of the greatest bands to ever surface in this sad music industry that produces such crap nowadays, thank god for the kings of leon. You guys save my life truly.
I agree with all of you guys....they could definitely be the rock band that defines our generation. I too enjoy their older stuff more but enjoyed Only by the Night very much. I hope their new album can have at least one song as great as this one and that they continue to make awesome music!
you rarely see Nathan showing any enthusiam in fact he's usually chewing gum non-chalantly while keeping perfect time on the drums. But on this song, he seems to be swept up by the emotional finale: he's pounding feriously, hair in a whirl around his head. LOVE IT!!!!
I've seen some of the older videos and watched them a lot. This is the best performance of this song I've seen on youtube. Technically it's better every which way except I can see people being partial to the tones of the vocals in older stuff when he was younger.
what i love about KOL is the fact that they're songs aren't necessarily "glamorous" or "sexy" like other bands seem to make all their songs. they are real and honest in both the music and lyrics.
The effort and emotion that goes into this song every time they perform it is just immense. Definitely their most difficult song to sing, and with the most meaningful lyrics, in my opinion anyway.
I am late to the kol party aswell but better late than never, and just when i was gonna quite looking for some refreashing music Bam thank god i found them! have to see them live
Anthony DeJardine ugh i saw them at Firefly last year and it was still amazing. Especially when they played Tapered Jean Girl. That was a great moment. I can't wait to see them this year!!
This is my fav KOL song, love their old stuff, seeing them soon and im praying they play this song, it would make the night magical if they do!!!!! God bless
I agree 100% When a great song like this is unappreciated itmakes you wonder what is going on. You have people like lil wayne on tv who stands in a video with a guitar round his shoulder and pretend. Kings of Leon have been one of the best bands around for a long time now. Their getting recognized worldwide now and to be honest it was only a matter of time before they hit it big.
I saw them last week, and they had a great mix of old and new so hopefully for you they do play this song. They played Milk and Knocked Up (amongst others) in the set here and it was amazing.
I've loved the Kings for years, and I like their new stuff. But holy crap, Youth and Young Manhood and Aha Shake Heartbreak blows the pants off their new stuff.
@gotLank123..couldnt agree w/ you more...they are our Rolling Stones..I hate how people give them shit for their new album...like any band survives w/out evolving...and I think "Closer" , "Revelry" and "Cold Desert" more than make up for "Use Somebody".....and honestly, "Sex on Fire" is the best song to come out in about 10 years.... regardless of what they may have done prior, its a killer pop song and that shit aint easy to do.
Remember introducing my then new girlfriend to “youth and young manhood” and “is this it” and completely changing her taste in music, also took her to see KOL in 2003, now after nearly 20 years married, all 3 of our kids love them too 😂
This song, Wicker Chair and Talihina sky are the most underrated KOL songs
Agreed
Cold dessert I love
100% agree. You nailed my 3 favourites.

@@rebeccahopkins9522 I agree so much about come around sundown that is my favorite album of theirs and also “there’s a bird in here”
Come back to this once every year or two, still one of the best single song performances I've ever seen
YES!

This is the best kings of Leon song. Hands down my absolutely favourite. I would kill for them to play this song live
People say they've sold out and got mainstream,

Keep it up boys,
you brighten up my days!
Still their best performance of any song ever in my opinion... flawless and amazing
you seen trani at hammersmith apollo 2007 tho? :P a serious contender
That version was good, but the Trani Bonnaroo 2004 performance is their greatest performance in my opinion
oh yeah true
I second the Bonnarroo 2004 shout. Incredible.
Mike Jones agree with you. When I feel low I watch that performance. So far the magic don't wear off yet
This song made me a fan. Bob Dylan once said, "I like that one song. The dirty one." So classic. A great song is a great song. This song sings of a desperation in one's soul. Touches me. I was once told all great songs are sad. Food for thought!
Sorry mates been with this band since the beginning and Bonnaroo performance of this is the best hands down, young and raw, emotions pouring....
I agree aĺ thes years gon by.but the virgin buzz is in Bonnaroo
I am in love with caleb. his voice, his personality, his lyrics, fuck just everything. He is so humble, the whole band are very humble and really nice people. Still blasting to this day 🤘
this should be in a collection titled "greatest songs of the decade"
Easily
I agree with all of you guys....they could definitely be the rock band that defines our generation. I too enjoy their older stuff more but enjoyed Only by the Night very much. I hope their new album can have at least one song as great as this one and that they continue to make awesome music!
Most f***ing amazing performance of Trani.. Caleb's givin the chills with that vocal :P
they should play this song more often in there concerts
This has been the one used for the closure of many concerts, man.
you rarely see Nathan showing any enthusiam in fact he's usually chewing gum non-chalantly while keeping perfect time on the drums. But on this song, he seems to be swept up by the emotional finale: he's pounding feriously, hair in a whirl around his head. LOVE IT!!!!
It's not that they're underrated, they're just not discovered by many people
Its sad. They deserve so much more attention
Amazing !!!! The voice , the screams , the man .
Bonnaroo performance is the best. Beat song ever written. Even Bob Dylan agrees.
Came here to see how well they do this song live.... I'm impressed! That was amazing! Great song
Best Trani Live on youTube? Loved this every bit! great screams from Caleb made my day
+budibausto Check out Bonaroo 2004. Its probably the best KOL on RUclips
Yesss
Hammersmith Apollo 2007 is quite spectacular as well!
@@stevenoasis1 yes. This is genuinely their best rendition of Trani and any song ever. I almost tear up during it - just pure and raw emotion/sound
Is it ok to to like this song in 2023?
Hell yeah it is
I've seen some of the older videos and watched them a lot.
This is the best performance of this song I've seen on youtube. Technically it's better every which way except I can see people being partial to the tones of the vocals in older stuff when he was younger.
haha totally agree I just found out about KOL last month while browsing now im addicted and ill be seeing them at MSG on the 29th
what i love about KOL is the fact that they're songs aren't necessarily "glamorous" or "sexy" like other bands seem to make all their songs. they are real and honest in both the music and lyrics.
Emotion. This is so raw and real. I love it.
The effort and emotion that goes into this song every time they perform it is just immense. Definitely their most difficult song to sing, and with the most meaningful lyrics, in my opinion anyway.
2021 ..... Still EPIC
the best band, song, performance of all time. you cannot beat this
I Love watching this video!
I do miss when Caleb screamed like this.

this is my favorite KOL video on youtube. its just got so much raw energy. i can feel it through the screen.
I am late to the kol party aswell but better late than never, and just when i was gonna quite looking for some refreashing music Bam thank god i found them! have to see them live
Seen them in 2007, 2008 and 2009 at T in the Park and gota say this was my favourite performance. Just because they played this song :D
beautiful. so pumped for okeechobee this year, i know they won't really be jamming like this, but seeing them is a dream come true!
Anthony DeJardine ugh i saw them at Firefly last year and it was still amazing. Especially when they played Tapered Jean Girl. That was a great moment. I can't wait to see them this year!!
This shouldn't have any dislikes, especially not 31, this is a kickass song. Definitely their best
I love these guys and for some reason I'm obsessed with this song! I even screech the last part like him...
I make a note of watching this at least once every week, I think my life is better for it haha. AMAZING!

Just type in Kings of Leon- trani live( Banaroo 2004)
I'm so glad they don't play this song anymore... It's too perfect. Just too damn perfect.
