That would be dumb and totally miss the whole point of this type of prank. This isn't scare tactics. The goal here was to have someone keep calm and ignore the danger and I really think it's a great intro to the movie. Lol people cannot appreciate good stuff. I feel like that if that guy was THAT casual about the situation then I would've felt like it was a prank. If he acted like he was panicking then I would've 100% believed it.
That's the point of the movie, yes? There are some deliberately playing down the crisis in direct opposition to the evidence that there is in fact a crisis.
That's why its bad acting.
I would’ve looked outside. The only people freaking out were the ones that could actually look up. People try to ignore ongoing emergencies pretty often, until they are personally face to face with the consequences. If you look up personal accounts from when there was an accidental “incoming nuclear missile” alarm set off in Hawaii… Some of the stories seem so surreal, because people tend to assume they’d do something different when faced with a crisis themselves. It’s also why there’s so many fckin shootings in the USA, and no one does anything but pray about it. It’s not their kids that died this time, so who gives a fck right??…
