- Par is a town located in St Austell Bay, on the South coast of Cornwall.
The town came about during the Victorian period, when a harbour was built to export minerals from the surrounding mines. As mining declined, china clay became Par's main exporter. Today, Par is still part of the china clay trade, with mineral company Imerys now owning the china clay workings and docks in the town.
Situated at the bottom of the town is Par Beach, a long sandy beach backed by sand dunes. It is among the largest beaches in the area.
Par stands within the parish of Tywardreath and Par. Кино
thanks nice little video of par here
used to take the kids here every year, great fishing off the rocks, nice and close to The Eden Project which we watched grow since it first opened, the indoor market was ace too but I'm guessing thats long gone now ?
My favorite places. I like to go back there every year.
Great video!
Very nice video Lucas, the train trip was a great bonus. At 3.29 what would have been the reason for the knob at the end of the roof above the circular window. Thanks a lot.
Many thanks. That thing above the window is the bell cage of the church. You can just about see the bell which hangs in it.
Thanks for the information Lucas.
I want to go back visit my cousins and go to Twardreath where my grandfather was born,my father born in Par,spit cottages. George Job
