Meva holds a very special place in my and my family's heart. Have spent summer holidays there on and off since the late 60s; my mother was the vicar's daughter and lived in Meva for a number of years. We used to stay in a small house on Cliff St and aged 5, I would be sent down the steps to the Market Square where there was a small dairy to buy milk each morning. And we used to while away many an afternoon (at low tide) searching for tiny shells on what you refer to as 'Little Spot' , which I've always known as 'Little Beach'! The harbour is terrific and can just sit for hours watching the world and the boats go by. My own kids love Meva too now, so the connection continues..... many thanks for sharing.
My grandfather was born here and moved to the US when he was 15 with his 19 year old sister, with 4 pounds between them and settled in Sussex, New Jersey. I loved his with all my heart. I visited in 1986. It felt like home.
This is a great video of Mevagissey been going there since a child,i am 63 now.We used to take our caravan and stay at pentewen sands just before Mevagissey it was such a great place to stay right on the beach, lots of wonderful memories of Looe,Polperro and Mevagissey. Thanks for the reminder of such lovely times ☺️
Same age and we started going about 73 and camped at pentewen sands. When my son was born.we started staying at the ship in parr sands we would take my mum and dad every year until mum started with dementia about 8 years ago. We took the one march to Florida all the parks lovely house. First day sat under the fairy castle having afternoon tea and mum says. Thank you this is lovely but your still going to take us on are proper Holliday to meva. I replied. Yes mum.
Wow your opening shot was so amazing! So beautiful! Like a picture postcard! I'm still not bored seeing the pastel colored cottages crowded together looking down on the boats of all shapes and sizes below them. I could sure live there! The seawater looks so clear even with the heavy rainclouds hovering above. Yes, I wish you could get better views of the shop windows. I love to have a look on what they sell in each. I can just imagine what it must be like at Christmas time with lights glimmering in the darkness, magical! Thanks for another interesting walk! )
So beautiful. Shame you got soggy but thank you 😂 I got stung all over by jelly fish once, never forget it. Too many fish and chips and pasties for the waist line. Shall look at more of your lovely videos. I love boats and harbours and beach.
Wonderful so see it hasn't changed. Places in Cornwall just don't need changing. Fabulous video.. thank you so very much.. it brought back such lovely memories for me. 👍
It's Saturday evening January 29th 2022 and myself and my wife have just watched Meva video. We are just coming to the end of a 10 day isolation having contracted covid so are extremely brassed off as you might imagine. Having seen a few of your other walks looked to Meva and came across your Mevagissey walk, shame about the weather , been coming here years for feast week such a nice place the yellow boat ride is a must especially if there's a bit of a swell it gets airborne. We always stay at an apartment right by the aquarium so not far to wobble after going in the local pubs. Anyway cracking vidio missed your excellent music though. Colin & Patti Smith.
Thank you so much Colin and Patti! Mevagissey wasn't somewhere I was originally planning to go but got tipped off by a few viewers that it's worth the trip and it defintiely is! Will definitely be back there in sunnier times! Hope you're both well!
A quaint little place that I've never heard of. A Cornish life for me ( even though I'm a northerner )..... not really.....lol. Lovely video my friend.
Hi Des Thanks for the tips! You clearly must be an industry professional and I’m always keen to learn! it’s very confusing to me though as what you’re saying is the exact polar opposite of all the feedback I get in so many comments from so many of my viewers and subscribers who say how much they love the subtitles and trivia?!? Do you have a link to your channel so I can see you definitely are speaking from a qualified position and so I can see how many subscribers and viewers you have?l
@@GimbalWalkTV Hi Sorry it didn’t bother me, but I kept taking my eyes off the fantastic video to read the text. My problem not your fault. Great video.

Lovely memories.
It’s an emotional place for me. My grandparents lived in a little street called Penmeva View. Spent my summer holidays there as a kid.
Just incredible! …and you’re so humble. I’m addicted - especially to these more pedestrianized little towns. Thanks again!
More to come!

Nice video but too much subtitles. It's very distracting. Subtitles help but not all the trivia. Stick to the essentials please.
