11:29 The tank model is Panzer III
They didn't appear until WW2. But in this story they kept fielding tech from WW2 which means Tanya has also been influencing some of the inventors directly (or indirectly thru the proposals of new tactics that require "new" tech)

nah. it's just a parallel universe. So things are different there.
Real reason is: author need to show german tanks. But WW1 tanks all looked the same. So to make a distinction that those are actual german panzers - he put them in WW1 timeline setting
Same goes for rockets. Germans were the one to develop them. So here they are

Panzer III Ausf F or G they're using the KwK 38 L/42 and they look like they don't have the Bolt On Armor that would be on the G to N Variants
there was an earlier shot that showed it there could've been an Ausf J1 which is odd the whole J1 had Bolted on Armor except the Mantlet

    Hello!
There is not a whole lot of Trivia to go over in this one except for this; during the first operation where Tanya and Co. were looking to take out OpFor (Opposing Force) HQ, Tanya's target ended up being *another* Commonwealth information center, which ends up fortifying their belief that they have a mole and will continue their, well, fruitless molehunt.
The tank was a Panzer III, early WW2 era tank, created somewhere in the thirties, along with Mechanized Infantry and Flamethrowers. The insane "Doctor" got a bunch of "ideas" and made all of the mechanical wonders you see in the show. Essentially, it's a direct hand from "Being X" here.
Nothing else for one thing next episode, or maybe a couple. I'll have to brush up.

The large scale underground explosives were likely a reference to a true event during our own WW1 where the 1st Australian Tunneling Company mined underneath Hill 60 in the Ypres Salient on the Western Front, there's a movie about it titled "Beneath Hill 60", it's a good watch if you're into war movies/history.

The second largest explosion (s) by a non nuclear device. (Soviet N1 was #1) You can actually see it still today. I mean, the aftermath of course. But the fact they played the long game to get that done was insane. ALSO there's apparently unexploded munitions still down there so nobody is allowed to venture in the tunnels lol.

Not sure if you knew but norse mythology was not only a Scandinavian religion but a Germanic one as well. The Germanic language encompasses from England, northen Europe to the Scandinavians regions.
An example would be Odin having many variations towards his name (Odin, Woden, Wotan, etc.) And interestingly Paganism was actually on the rise on the 19th-20th Century.

@@kamidesu6414 nah the Panzer 4 had a short 75 mm gun at first, then later the medium 75, but the tanks were similar in size of the hull and turret. and the gun in the series is too small in comparison to the turret to be a 75.
Also the turret is centered, the turret on the PZ 4 was a bit off to the side.

That sapper maneuver was a real world WW1 reference to what still ranks as one of the largest Non-nuke Man-made explosive events in history.
"What kind of explosive was that"
    ALL of them. 🔥🧨🔥🧨🔥🧨🔥
The continuing pressures of total war are showing in the weapons development as the WW2 era Blitzkrieg and Panzer are emerging as the tactics to eradicate Trench warfare doctrines. (Tanya wrote LOTS of War College Papers)
Technically not a reference to the collapse of the Maginot line, the combined Operations Shock and Awe, Lockpick, and Revolving Door are closer mirrors to the Desert Storm liberation of Kuwait and envelopment of the Iraqi Republican Guard.

The Germanic people before a certain point followed a religion similar to the Norse, even parts of the Netherlands. the Netherlands even has gods that don't appear in Germany nor the Nordic countries like Nehallenia, Hiudana and Sandraudiga (Celtic based). We (Including the Germans) also had Tiwaz (Tyr, Dinsdag, Tuesday), Wodan (Odin, Woensdag, Wednesday), Donar (Thor, Donderdag, Thursday), Frija (Freya, Vrijdag, Friday), Germany also has some gods that don't appear in the Netherlands or the Nordic countries.

This is my favorite episode because. This entire episode is literally reference, During ww2.
The french Army is disorganized. Half of the Frontline is organized, that's only on the Maginot line. But the rest isn't.
The french commands after the lowland invasion was Disorganized where the enemy units are.
The distraction of the hq on this anime reference to that.

There was a part in World War 1 where the British set up 1 million pounds of explosives under a trench that when detonated in Belgium it could be heard from London. It killed about 1000 Germans. The British were also the first to employ tanks on the field. So basically, it's the uno reverse card. lol

It's so weird they actually had Panzer IIIs this quickly like the Ausf J1 Variants and then Tanya's Divsion would also get like Late War Variants along with the Pannzer IV ausf F2 and maybe all the way to Ausf H
also that encirclemenrt tactic looks like the one that would be about Operation Dynamo or the Battle of Dunkirk where French Troops were defending the British from leaving the coast and had to abandon a lot of British Equipment while being harassed by constant Air Raids and a City in Ruins
