Hey everybody, in regards to the clay pot, when Keith found it he immediately got in touch with the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, sent them pics, and had them do some mapping and dating. We did everything by the book! No ancient relics were harmed or stolen in the making of the video! 😊
We who have watched your channel for years know you’d do right by your find, Renee, but dying to know what the antiquities folks had to say about the jar! 🤔👍🏻👎🏻 Is it “acient or un-ancient” as Keith likes to say. 😂 That water is just amazing! Thanks for sharing it with all of us.

It's a late comment, but you have zero idea. Were they going to store the plastics? Boats are tight on storage. Then they start to smell, so have to be topside. Then they become a safety issue as you move around topside, and you only see it in the calm. All plastics would need storage and tying down. So. Sometimes you have to put yourself in their shoes and think about the whole consequence, not just shoot from the mouth in ignorance. Where does this crew then put the rubbish? etc etc. But you can see it now. Create a new job for every day on the years and years on board.......
Our family enjoys watching y'all! So sad to see the trash in the mangroves, and the guys on the boat asking for money was a little scary. We learn soooo much from watching y'all. Thank you for the educational and entertaining videos! ❤
His comment about 100 years old being 'ancient' just hurts, since I'm 65% of the way there! I certainly don't FEEL ancient, or even 65% ancient. One day, Finn, you're going to look back on this when someone says 'God, you're old!' and you're only 50 or so!
Great job with the dingy. I remember getting stuck in an outlet about 20 years ago in a marsh that connected to the Gulf of Mexico when I was running crew back to the dock before GPS only Loran available and it did not work. It was a rental and did not know where we were so we went in every inlet to find one that matched the chart. Took over 14 hours to make a two hour trip.
Hey Kieth , about the pottery , I’ve seen some videos where the potter will roll long pieces and put them on top of each other . Then smooth them together . That could be where you are seeing the swirls. I’m not an expert but I think the potter’s wheel has been used for centuries . 😊
So interesting and fun. The exuberance of youth makes me tired watching. Thankfully y'all had the insight on the boat wanting to collect a toll. Be safe ✌

This is called an amphora more than likely held wine or olives or olive oil. No telling how old it is by look alone in this case, but its for sure a nice find, and you should hold on to it if possible.
I have excavated pottery in Jordan and that looks similar to the middle bronze age. I'd turn it over to someone in antiquities as some countries forbid taking artifacts. Welcome to Africa 🇪🇬love your videos 😍 please keep sending more thanks 🇺🇸
Fun video. Glad you were able to tell the scammers to buzz off! Always looking forward to next week.
BTW Starlink is working great on boats.
Our family enjoys watching y'all! So sad to see the trash in the mangroves, and the guys on the boat asking for money was a little scary. We learn soooo much from watching y'all. Thank you for the educational and entertaining videos! ❤
I really enjoyed seeing Keith work on projects, we are cut from the same cloth in that regard and I love to see his skill!
Finn made a good observation “ I know it’s old how many boats out here you think have a pot on them“ 😂😂😂
His comment about 100 years old being 'ancient' just hurts, since I'm 65% of the way there! I certainly don't FEEL ancient, or even 65% ancient.
One day, Finn, you're going to look back on this when someone says 'God, you're old!' and you're only 50 or so!
Good on you for sticking it out and for not taking the bait!
Sure hope you guys stopped in Dahab and explored the blue hole! Awesome trip
Blue Hole Dahab: Egypt’s Deadliest Magnet for Divers?
I just love this family!
Nice edit on Keith's comentary on sliding in the filter membranes. 😀
Seeing you exploring at the beginning of the video is making me real excited about getting out there! I can't wait!
I for one like Keith's innuendo when he's fixing things😅
What a cool and strong family!
Keith doesn’t strike me as a guy somebody can push around. Good on ya man !,
As always, another great video, already can't wait to see the next video, that pottery was fantastic 👍🙏❤️😎
Sorry about spelling of your name !🤪
4000 years for the “fast pottery wheel”, that operates as a flywheel. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potter%27s_wheel
Thank you for the upload that urn what an interesting find. Fair winds. ♥️♥️
blessed
So interesting and fun. The exuberance of youth makes me tired watching. Thankfully y'all had the insight on the boat wanting to collect a toll. Be safe
✌
Happy to see you back and whish you an amazing year !!!
Really intresating maintenance video and peacefull way to get rid of scammers...
You inspired us and who knows, we could meet you somewhere in med as we are starting our familly world trip in July...
See you
Hey guys I give you 2 thumbs up for holding your ground no pun Intended LOL Against the scammers trying to shake you down, I love all the red sea videos you guys are awesome stay safe
As for the yacht beggars, how annoying! As much as I love Egypt, they are the worst for scams and touting! I finally had to rudely say, LA SHUKRAN! (no thank you!!!) ignore and walk away. Good for you on standing your ground!!
Since Keith, Jack, and Finn are so talented in music they should start making the music you use. You guys are all so talented I think anything is possible…
I think that's what they do
It wouldn't be Sailing Zatara - without Keith making an inappropriate (but funny) joke. Everyone was waiting for him to make a comment - but you killed the moment with your editing.
My favorite Texas Family, so fun🏋🏻♀️🤟🏋🏻♀️, thanks🤗
Hi I love your family and your videos they are super entertaining. When are you coming to Tunisia ? starting from the month of May the weather becomes so charming now it’s super cold windy and rainy you gotta come
Well done !👍
Welcome to Egypt
😍

Stay safe
Thank you, Renee. You offered all the commentary need. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great video, too bad about the trash in the mangroves though! Knowing you I’m sure you contacted the appropriate people regarding what to do with the jar/pot you found!
Have a blessed 2023!!!
Hey Keith do you find that with the saltier water in the Middle East reduces your membrane filter life? Given that you get a good run out of these filters do you always keep multiple spares onboard the Cat? Hey also love you guys, being retired it is great to sit down and watch the family grow on the numerous journeys- Be safe
Sailing is a hard work but priceless fun that no other experience can afford you like the fun they were having gliding.
