    Mike, you are one stud of a fisherman and great ambassador for the sport. Love your videos and hope you keep producing. They are full of good info on location, equipment, flies, casting, catch and release. You're what every fisherman should be!! Thanks a bunch.

    Good day on the water, even though you had to work for it. Gotta love those free stone streams, even though they seem to parallel the road, or the road parallels them really. Deer Creek reminds me of Chittenango but maybe a little wider. I think April forgot it "was" April! Thanks for turning over the rocks and filming insect activity. I don't know if you always did that, I've noticed you did it the last couple of trips, I do it every time I go out. You always give the water and air temps too,👍, love it. Both things make it a more interesting experience for me, the viewer, like I'm there with you. Great videos Mike, your the "Magellan" of the fishing videos! Thanks! BTW turkeys been gobbling past couple of days, especially this morning, maybe it really is spring! Take care Mike... 👌😎

    Interesting stretch of water Mike, shallower runs and deeper, slower holes. I like the gloves, look like they match your beenies! I could have used them last week. Very cold in the Utah mountains, high 20's in the mornings and had to keep knocking the ice out of the rod guides. A good outing though with a number of Browns, rainbows and tigers in the 20" category including a 25", 4 plus lb Brown. I'm with you on traffic, I fished a creek along CA395 and I could feel the ground shake every time a big rig would go by. Hope you start getting some Spring-like weather pretty soon. BTW, for something different and if the late spring and early summer weather is dry consider stripping some streamers for small mouth and pike on The Allegheny up near Olean, NY. Tight lines Angler!

      Wooly Bugged when your coming back up north east let me know. Harvey's is hot. Caught 15 of those 20s in the last few weeks. I dropped the indicator and went with Bennys lively legz quickie leader set up. I really like it. You get a nice soft cast and less tangles when casting. Chk it out if u haven't. I swear I doulbled my daily fish counts

    Love your vids. I really do. It would be nice to see you mix up a variety of fishing techniques. Bobber fly fly is great but maybe a streamer or searching dry would be cool on video.

    I think you’re supposed to keep what you catch there but I could be wrong. Thought I read that in the regs.

  • @thetraveljack
    @thetraveljack 6 лет назад +1

    Hey mike, you seem to nymph a lot ( which is obviously quite productive). My question to you is do you tend to lose tackle on snags from touching bottom? And is there something you do to avoid that?

    • @WoolyBugged
      @WoolyBugged  6 лет назад

      Jack Sugden to avoid snags, you simply need to adjust your weight until you find that “sweet spot” where your bouncing bottom but not snagging. Also, jig style hooks and smaller flies will help avoid getting hung up as much.

    Awesome video as always. I’m a recent subscriber an watched some of your older videos an didn’t notice much dry fly action. Do you fish dry flies much?

    • @WoolyBugged
      @WoolyBugged  6 лет назад +1

      Hillbilly Sportsman I occasionally dry fly fish if the conditions are optimal for it. I just love to fish subsurface so much, it’s hard to get me on the surface.

    Mike,
    Ben watching your vids for about a year now and have finally subscribed. You always seem to find the fish wherever you go. I spent a few hours on the Breeches this morning and no luck. Water is high and fast. What kind of split shot are you using? Every time I add weight I get hung up.
    Larry

    • @WoolyBugged
      @WoolyBugged  6 лет назад

      Larry McIntyre I use a brand called Dinsmore. It’s important you find that sweet spot where you’re bouncing the bottom but not getting hung up. Experiment. Ever try weighted flies?

    • @larrymcintyre9221
      @larrymcintyre9221 6 лет назад +1

      Wooly Bugged I have ben tying .020 and .015 in my zebras and pheasant tails but it still isn't enough to get them down. I will try and find the Dinsmore. I like the egg shape and they should roll better than split shot. Thanks for your reply.

    • @WoolyBugged
      @WoolyBugged  6 лет назад

      Larry McIntyre they are the best, hands down

    • @tomhh9161
      @tomhh9161 4 года назад

      Using weighted flies works in low and medium water levels. Sometimes i use two flies just for the added weight of the extra fly. i only use split shot in high water situations when i have no choice.

    Hey Mike, another good video. Do you do your own filming or have a cameraman? Either way it’s a good job always. Also do you tie that squirmy wormy or does some company sell them?

    • @WoolyBugged
      @WoolyBugged  6 лет назад

      Gary Knepper I self-film everything Gary, like that Survivorman show that used to be on, haha. I tie my own squirmy wormies.

    Why you take water temp?

    • @WoolyBugged
      @WoolyBugged  5 лет назад

      Joe Bostic I take the water temps because as they gradually rise, trout begin to feed more actively translating into a better fishing experience.
