If you think that was a lot of walking, some time you will have to experience the C/D gates which are used by united mainline domestic and international flights. There's a long tunnel from the terminal to the train station, but if you arrive internationally, you get to ride the mobile lounge shuttle and the walk is much shorter. Also, the metro station was originally supposed to be closer to the terminal and underground. To save money, they built it above ground instead and had to move it farther away since the main terminal is a historic building.
I live in DC, and work at IAD. I know in certain metro stations (mainly on the red line) the sign says To Shady Grove Via Downtown, D.C. I’m not sure why that’s not the case at IAD station.
The only problem that I see at Dulles is the transit system. From the main terminal, the transit system should have gone down the center of all the terminals, it would have been a shorter walk between gates. I’m glad they still have the mobile lounges, I use them when my gate is almost at center concourse. Though I will say if you park at the garage out where the new silver line comes, it’s underground tunnels. It’s a long walk but you don’t have to go outside at all.
Thanks for the video! I normally fly into DCA when I visit DC. But now the Silver line goes up to Dulles, I can now take the Metro! I don't trust or feel safe taking rideshare. And it's overpriced AF as well. #taketransit
All NMIA-themed airports should have non-stop flights serving IAD (Norman Manley International Airport, Navi Mumbai International Airport, and New Manila International Airport).
A total misunderstanding. Dulles was NOT designed and built as one sees it today. A simple explanation for the vast distances: Dulles was opened in 1962 with one terminal building. Over the years 3 remote concourses were added and it was only 2022 when the remote Metro station was opened. So it’s not like it was “planned” this way. It’s how it evolved over 50 years.
Philippine Airlines should have non-stop flights serving this airport. The non-stop flight would be between NMIA and Washington Dulles. This would be a big-time changer for non-stop international flights serving the Washington Dulles International Airport.
Don’t hire British ones either. If you have never been to Heathrow, and if you are flying United, you will be at Queens Terminal 2. From the ticketing counter signs tell you it’s at least a half an hour walk to the gates, no transit system within the airport , cept for the Underground. The Piccadilly line comes right into the airport.
They did have a sign, that digital sign was on the whole time you were there lol! Always look at the signage, and if it's digital assume there's a reason. I know it's not completely idiot proof, but if you want that then that's a self-insult.
#1 -BWI is NOT located between Baltimore and DC..It's literally only 9 miles from downtown Baltimore..And Reagan is NOT in the heart of DC..It's in Virginia..Next time maybe do some research
I hear you. But I stand by my statement Reagan is right in the heart of the city there along the Potomac and BWI is in between Baltimore and DC. Yes it’s closer to Baltimore than DC. But still in between the two. Have a great day!

Thx for sharing . I think the best video for Dulles Airport.
You want an “older terminal,” check out the C and D concourses for mainline United flights.

You came from the wrong entrance ? Follow the terminal signage
Dulles: if you can confuse people, why make it simple?
😯
Next Virtcam, can you make a video of arrival on Sacramento International Airport Terminal B in Sacramento, the capital of California?
I don’t have any immediate plans to visit Sacramento but I can add it to the list.

Check out the MLK memorial. My Fraternity was instrumental in getting it built.
Went there today. It was nice good to read the quotes on the rocks
@@VirtCam That is awesome. Good deal! 👍
