FINALLY... A video from D. C.!!!! I was getting tired and bored of the "usual" videos from JFK, Atlanta, Miami, Los Angeles etc. I was wondering when someone would tap into the " hidden gem" airports. Would love to see at some point ; Denver, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Portland, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Dallas Ft. Worth. By the way, at time stamp 17:36, that is a 787, not a Triple 7.
I don't think Dulles is a hidden gem. It's one of the busiest international airports in terms of foreign traffic in the country. It's in the top 5 or so. Maybe not much connecting traffic or domestic ops, but to think it's some small time hidden gem is ridiculous. It's the airport that serves the Capital of the United States! To compare its importance with cow towns like Phoenix, Denver, etc is an insult!
Great video of my home airport! Hope to see you guys around again soon! And there are a lot of other really cool spots that most people do not know about. And you got lucky with the planes landing on C as 1L/19R was getting worked on for a few days and had the runway shut down.
Where are good spots at dulles, I'm rather local and usually check out flights from DCA due to the park, but, I wanna see the big boys. I used to work at Dulles and therefore had the BEST views inside the gates. Feel free to dm if it's easier decent spots for both bwi and dulles!
@@tonyhall2734parking garage two on the top level is the best in my opinion for seeing the whole airport. It’s about 12:00 for an hour for parking but I’m pretty sure it’s free on the weekends. But if you want to be super close on most days from noon or so till 4-5 o’clock along air and space museums parkway in the field along it is also amazing.
IAD has several good planespotting locations. You have this, the Udvar-Hazy center to the south, and the park and ride garage of Loudoun Gateway station to the north.
The amount of variety is spectacular, and the parking garage angle is great! Wow. Did you get any of those VIP jets we see in the background? And do you have a link to that video if so?
@@berserkercu6595remember this is Washington DC where business still happens even one’s the US government don’t publicly talk to. The Russian embassy is still open and employs hundreds of people.
I wished I lived in Washington D.C so I can plane spot there but I live in Norfolk, some 200 miles away but I went there several times and it was quite good and Kuwait Airways is going to fly there on December 15.
It amazes me how graceful those huge jets are. So beautiful and calming to watch. Thank you for sharing!! I'm curious, how do you get close enough to take such great videos? Is it something similar to a press pass that allows you closer than the regular public?
I don't know when it was (not the photographer), but you'll notice it was parked with other governmental executive aircraft (Japan, UK and Korea among others). So probably had to do with some summitt.
They aren't rare,, this is Washington, D.C, the capital of the free world. You should expect demand from foreign countries all over the world --> international business is done between foreign capitals all the time. This dismissing DC is getting on my nerves.
321 over the ocean to Portugal???? Helll nooooo. That would be one of the worst flights. Very uncomfortable. Also what a shitty landing of the 777 Qatar

Erm actually it’s loudon/Fairfax

I hope to hell you are joking, because I hate it when parochialism takes over people's minds.

@@JeanClaudeCOCO Ah... thanks for the clarification. I didn't think about it) No one canceled business affairs, and all sorts of conferences.
likely a diplomatic event with the other jets around it such as Korea One
Wherever you go fantastic video programs follow. This one was decidedly fantastic.

@@HDMelbourneAviation thank you!
When was this please. Thought Russian aircraft were banned from the US airspace and yet there is an IL 96 on the deck

The IL 96 is always in Washington and New York due to summits and just support to their embassies and missions.
Nicce
Awesome
Record a video at Santander (SDR/LEXJ) Airport please! (Better in Summer 2024 because there is more traffic and seasonal airlines)✈️
I took that EXACT flight at 4:52. IAD - LHR 767-300
