  • The Sienna is a minivan offered by Toyota and the XSE trim adds sport to the formula. On the outside you will find a unique grill, front fascia and 20in wheels. On the inside you will be greeted by tons of storage, sunroof and rear seat entertainment. Under the hood is a 2.5L inline-4 paired with (2) electric motors. Is the 2023 Toyota Sienna XSE better to BUY than a Honda Odyssey?

    An incredible achievement that a big minivan like this can deliver 36 MPG. That is amazing. I can remember vans being in the low teens... The Odyssey and Sienna are incredibly practical vehicles. Basically a pickup with protected storage the way some people use it. Don't understand why they don't make double rear door with ramp option on these vehicles, because people who like to dirt bike and bicycle would prefer the theft and environmental protection of a van, and don't want to buy a commercial van which is never as efficient.

    My wife and I are moving to Nova Scotia next year to be closer to family. She wants to pile everyone into one vehicle for day trips and she is open to a minivan for seven people. Nova Scotia also gives a discount on insurance for a hybrid, so this might be my next family hauler. For me, leg room and comfort are the first two priorities, followed by if I can fit comfortably in the third row.

      The Odyssey rides much better and has better power. Why would you take this over an Odyssey? The part that most blows my mind is the full-on, business-class, living-room-worthy recliners in the second row. None of the others can come close to touching those. And I wanted dark brown leather instead of tan. Stays cleaner easier and longer, and easier to clean. Bravo, Toyota!

    Nice van, but a couple omissions that I don’t understand. One was one of your zonks, the rear wiper, because the previous generation Sienna did have the wiper tucked up under the spoiler. The other is the sunroof. Our 2017 Limited doesn’t have a panoramic because of the rear entertainment, which is just like the new van’s, but it does have two sunroofs. The rear one is really big and even opens. So, not sure why they chose to kind of go backwards with this new generation. Great review as always Joe!

    Great review as always! I've had my 23 XSE for just under 2 months now and I have zero buyers remorse, letting go of my 2016 4Runner. 3 kids and friends or just the 5 of us going on vacation, using the 3rd row, left a comical amount of trunk space. Definitely not enough room for a full sized stroller with the usage of the 3rd row in the 4Runner. It was great for my previous stage of life though.
    I'm going to add a zonk though... I am short, so I'm not sure if it is because my seat is pulled up, but if you have a water bottle or cups in the cupholders in the door, you can not access them while the door is closed. The cupholders in general, leave a lot to be desired, but at least there are 4 on the bridge, unlike the 2 in my 4Runner. Another zonk, would be the rear wiper not being tucked away. Overall, I am pretty impressed with its acceleration. where I live, it is mainly interstate driving with a speed limit of 70mph, getting onto the interstate has not been a problem, even keeping it in ECO, surprisingly.
    I had been waiting over 6 months for a new Kia Carnival SX I had ordered, and just got tired of waiting with no build date. My local Toyota dealership that does not mark up their inventory, was getting 1 lonely 2023 Sienna XSE black with black (dark gray) interior (like my 4Runner) and FWD so it had the black wheels, and I scooped it up. It arrived 2 weeks early and I couldn't be happier with our purchase.

We decided to return it because it felt small in the 3rd roll ,no spare tire, no entertainment system on the xle model, for what we paid we could get more for our money so we decided to go with the 2022 odyssey touring which we love ❤. It has everything and more, specially the entertainment system for the kiddos and my spare tire. This is the first time we switched from suv to a minivan and I don’t think I’m going back. Out of my experience driving both the Sienna and odyssey, either or will work, it really depends on your needs. Take your time to do your research and drive test both before you invest

Id like for the 2nd row to completely come out and the floor to be flat. And it needs a rear power roll down window like in the Sequoia, and they should honestly extend the van about a foot so with the 2nd row all the way back you can still fit people in the 3rd row. I guess what Im hoping for is a grand sienna lol. But without these upgrades my current Sequoia makes more sense for my family at the moment.

I am not a big CVT fan, but we have one now in our Honda CR-V, and it hasn't been a problem so far (72,000K). As far as horsepower, they could probably put a turbo on that thing and get the extra 50hp. Weather-Tech will probably have options for various floor/trunk protectors, so that might be an option down the road. I'm wondering how long it would take to get one? The 2024's will be out pretty soon I would think?

      @@kalel0192 When potential customers like me buy something else, which I did, that is definitely a lost sale. If they produced more, they'd sell more. That's the way the car market worked for over a century. And it will work like that again once enough consumers come to their senses.

    The rear has the turn signals lights that have the Thomas Edison light bulbs blinking in there. the Toyota Sienna doesn’t have Toyota’s newer multimedia system. I like how the cargo space is deep and Joe Raiti can fit in there.

    Is this AWD? I saw on another video that XSE AWD came with 18 inch silver wheels, and that FWD came with the 20s in black. Was that wrong?

    I have a 2018 Odyssey Elite as the main family vehicle for kids drop off and pick up and groceries etc. Our Ody is driven within a 3 mile radius 95% of the time on local city roads with plenty of traffic and stop lights, with 35mph speed limit. I get 10.5 MPG on average. I'm really considering a Sienna for the better fuel efficiency and the sliding second row seats to give my kids more space to put their stuff and backpacks.

    • @everydayanodyssey
      @everydayanodyssey 10 месяцев назад

      Yeah they don’t fully remove (easily… it can be hacked), but they do slide all the way to the front seats.- so you do get more cargo area in the back than if they didn’t. Not as good as easily removable, but better than nada.
