The Best-selling Minivan Drives Even Better! // Toyota Sienna XSE Review

  • The Toyota Sienna is the best-selling minivan in America, despite the fact that it's technically the smallest. Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular? Especially when its rivals like the Honda Odyssey, Chrysler Pacifica, and Kia Carnival are also quite good in their own ways? Maybe it's the Sienna's hybrid efficiency. Maybe it's this Sienna XSE's excellent ride quality. Maybe it's the Toyota Sienna's flexible second row captains chairs. Or maybe it's the fact that you can get it all in the Toyota Sienna. We think that might be it; well, and the fact that more than any of the others, the Toyota Sienna will quite literally last forever. Like Megan says in the video, the Toyota Sienna removes all of the worry from the family vehicle experience and just takes care of you. Can't put a price on that.

    Ok.. when you make the pacifica a hybrid.. how much space does it have then?
    Carnival doesn’t come in hybrid or awd
    Does Oyssey have hybrid and if so whats the cargo space in the hybrid model?

    • @jax1079
      @jax1079  Год назад +2

      Pacifica has the same amount of space in hybrid trim. The EV components take up the space under the second row floor, so you lose the trick folding seats. It's worth it in our opinion. Carnival doesn't have either. Odyssey doesn't have a hybrid mode. The Sienna is probably more reliable long term and nearly as efficient. Hope that helps!

    • @njrivetelite
      @njrivetelite Год назад +1

      @JAX Automotive that's what I mean, if the Pacifica 2nd Row no longer fold/hide in the hybrid trim, it won't have the same 140 as the non hybrid that does fold the seats into the floor.

    • @njrivetelite
      @njrivetelite Год назад +1

      @JAX Automotive I use to own a Dodge Caravan which seems to be near exactly what the new pacifica is.
      Considering it wasn't hybrid, all seats folded away giving me 140'ish ft of space.. but with that 2nd row up. I didn't have that same space.
      I do like the Reliability, Range & AWD of the Sienna

    • @jax1079
      @jax1079  Год назад +1

      @@njrivetelite The Pacifica is the best all around minivan, BUT… if I were spending my own money I’d probably lean towards the Sienna for efficiency and reliability.

    I'm going to outfit mine for living in, AWD to take me off the road and I'm going to lift it 3 inches, offroad and beach and mountains for me. I used to drive my Prius v offroad sometimes very carefully even with its low clearance. I slept in the Prius wagon as my mini rv for thousands of miles of cross country trips, Nevada to upstate New York to South Carolina, through Texas, slept at a campground on the gulf in Alabama. I'm going to spend a lot of time living in it. This has a LOT more room for me to move into it! And it's rated to tow 3500 so I'm going to add a hitch back there, maybe a platform for storage, haven't decided yet.

  • @dunhamjr5531

    The reality is that the Sienna cargo volume is only smaller because its "behind the 1st row" total cargo volume stat has to include that its 2nd row seats are not removable in the Sienna.
    The only reason the other vans show that they have significantly larger cargo volume is because they are measuring with the 2nd row stored (chrysler, although the pacifica hybrid cannot store them either) or removed completely, Honda/Kia.
    It's technically correct that the Sienna has less cargo room because those 2nd row seats are not built to be removed, but MOST people aren't trying to use their minivans as literal cargo vans. Most people are going to use the space behind the 2nd row with the 3rd rows stored... and in this more typical usage, all 4 vans are very similar.

    You can't beat a minivan. We considered the the sienna, Pacifica and Carnival and went with the Pacifica limited of all things. We will see what reliability ends up being like but we actually liked it the most. Hard to beat the stow and go system.
    The Toyota was the second option but just didn't like the styling. Couldn't bring myself to trust a kia, but I know that's in my head. Not that it would have mattered because they had one base model on the lot for us to look at but couldn't test drive it because it was sold. Sorry but if I can't test drive a $60,000 vehicle I'm not buying it no matter what else I liked.

      This is true. I really like the Pacifica plug in when I had it. It was the best all around package in my opinion, but reliability is certainly a concern versus the Sienna.

    minivans are awesome vehicles. Luxury, space, and finally with a hybrid you can get decent gas mileage. Here's to hoping every Toyota will get a 300 hp plug in hybrid option.

    The sienna is not really smaller . That cargo number of 101 is because the middle captains chairs are not removable.

    • @jax1079
      @jax1079  4 месяца назад

      This is true... but then it IS smaller because they can't be easily swapped for maximum cargo space.

    The lady at the beginning doesn't even know it's a hybrid and doesn't even know how hybrids work. And she doesn't even know the difference between the xse and the other trims. Lol she needs to watch the reviews for this vehicle rather than doing the review herself. A great video otherwise 👏...love everything else about this review and will for sure watch other car reviews on your channel. This is a very nice color for the sienna as well.
