I am a Toyota fan but I admit though, Toyota will through in any "scrap" items in the highest priced models knowing the fact that people will still buy it. eg: the infotainment system to name one. When you are paying over 60k for a VAN, it should have all the updated luxury in it. 60k is not a joke.
We had to call around a lot but got one about 4 hours from us. We live in Texas. We had a palisade previously and bought that in Florida lol. We go wherever the best deal is.
It doesn't matter if its the best vehicle on the planet - no one has inventory, you'll be waiting an extremely long time for one, you can't *easily* remove the middle seats, the CVT is extremely droney, power is very low especially when you have passengers and the price is astronomical vs the competition! Those negatives are just too large to overlook.
I drove a brand new sienna from San Francisco to Washington DC during covid (I fell in love with it) and went through an actual blizzard in Nebraska... everyone stopped due to low visibility and strong winds ... I kept going, I made it safely with everyone on board and a full studio apartment in the back (no mattress, no couch, lol. Otherwise, everything made it... the sienna would be in my dream garage if I could
I drive school bus but mostly private minivan. I've sit in all the minivan and toyota is the most comfortable one out of them all. Dodge or should I say the Chrysler Pacifica is the worse when it come to space in the interior.
I had one as a rental car and did like it despite the dated infotainment system. For me the two big cons are the lack of an 8 seat option for upper trims (captains chairs don't work for my needs) and the long wait lists. I don't know why Toyota forces you to have a two place second row in upper trims. Some other companies do on their SUVS too but most manufacturers at least realize that some minivan owners want max passenger versatility. But you can't argue with 36mpg city. That alone makes up for a lot of flaws. It doesn't drive quite as well as an Odessey but in 95% of your driving when you aren't accelerating you really won't notice. Its not fast but its fast enough. About the same speed as a previous generation Odessey which is adequate for a family car.
I love the new sienna I would personally drive the sienna with either the platinum or limited trims and that blue color looks so pretty even with the hybrid technology that is amazing I am all for it
Joe - This 2024 Toyota Sienna does have a black/light gray interior option (with black steering wheel) that IMO is not bad to look at. This Sienna is a much better family van than Chrysler Pacifica you posted a review on earlier today. If a person wants a family van instead of a large SUV then this van is a win/win/win with its reliability, MPG's and price ! This Sienna might be slightly smaller in interior room but IMO it still kicks the Kia Carnaval and Chrysler Pacifica to the curb when you add things together!
been driving minvans since '97 starting with the Dodge caravan - 1st year they came out with dual sliding doors. Then got the 2004 Nissan Quest SEwhen they had that beautiful new body. Had that 11 years then bought the 2015 Toyota Sienna SE. All family members who I told to get a minvan all thanked me after ward. It's not only cool to drive a minivan - it's smart!!
Still incredibly outdated with TSS 2.0. This is such a money grab by Toyota. Mid 50k for a bunch of outdated nonsense AND to add insult to injury, you can't get one for another decade 😂 Toyota is taking L's left and right with this one.
I drove a 2023 Toyota Sienna as a courtesy car from my Toyota dealership last year. Comfortable ride, no wind noise, and second row seats has a lot of room, and good acceleration. This is the vehicle to go with. Good looking too
It would’ve nice for the sienna to have an option for a V6 and a hybrid similar to what the Pacifica has where you have option of engine choices. The sienna dominates the segment with fuel economy can’t complain about that
Best commercially produced minivan for the past decade easily. With the specs Joe, I think it will be helpful to add what the estimated range is on a full tank to all your utility vehicle reviews ...
How to get a Sienna? When can I get a Sienna? How much mark up dealer satisfied to sell you a Sienna that is in stock? How much more a used Sienna with 80k has higher price tag than a new Sienna?
Toyota makes nice vehicles, but they really need to bring back their silky smooth 3.5L N/A V6, with a real auto transmission. I will NEVER buy a hybrid with a POS CVT.
I believe Honda Odyssey calls their 2nd row “magic” seats because they can slide front/back and also left/right; but Toyota calls theirs “super long slide”
I loved my 2024 Sienna XLE Black 8passengers seating. This was added to my fleet last November...it took about 7months to be delivered. I admit I was able to get 44.5mpg once on the 91freeway. For what other brands was asking for the Pacifica and the Carnival, Toyota Sienna is a winner for me. This van can haul 8pax/luggage no problem. I like that the XLE I bought, on the second row the middle seat can be removed and you have 2 extra cup holders underneath. This is my second Toyota Sienna I have owned in my fleet over the years. The last one was a 2004 LE and as at the time we took it out of commission, it has 377,000 miles on it. This is a vehicle that will serve you well if you take care of it.
It doesn't look like that Sienna in the video is an All-Wheel Drive (AWD), but it's a Front-Wheel Drive (FWD), since there's no AWD badge on the rear hatch door, the tires being 20 inch is only on the FWD models, AWD has 18 inch tires, also AWD is rated at 35 MPG and FWD is rated at 36 MPG.
Because Americans are stupid and want SUVs instead of much more utilitarian MPVs. The MPV is the people mover of choice everywhere else. A-list movie stars are chauffeured in Toyota Alphards in Asia.
I will take the Carnival v6, hybrids have higher insurance and imagine paying for a new battery for a 10--15yo car? no way, v-6 all day, that saved in mpg is eaten up by insurance and battery replacement
When my kids leave for College I will still be driving a mini van. I have a Camry and I like driving it but it doesn’t compare to my Sienna. I like sitting up high and having tons of space.
I have been seriously considering the Sienna, BUT I am not totally in love. Even the highest trim, the Platinum, is very bare-bones and bland. And don't even get me started on that awful brown leather. The car is also very underpowered. I think it's overhyped for what it is. I will give that the MPG is good and of course, Toyota is super reliable. But, I just wish they put more thought into it, like a better infotainment system and more comfortable seats. The third row seats also pop up if they are folded down because they don't latch into place.
Hey Joe. I believe the one you’re driving is just FWD. The AWD ones drop the wheels to 18”ers. Also, you can get AWD on a Pacifica (non-hybrid). Another awesome video!
I think Mine has 20s but will have to look when it comes back from dealer but does have ottomans and its a 2024 platinum awd made in noveber of 2023 to be exact and no spare tire
Me and my wife are currently in a 2020 Rav4 we dont have kids yet. But I really want to get her in a Sienna because of how comfortable this car is but she says she will never be caught dead in a minivan 😆 Great review !
Sienna is great but i prefer carnival. And rumor is kia has a hybrid in the works and for a minivan the 8 seater is the better option like in carnival and odyssey.
If you want a 2024 Sienna with AWD and 8-passenger seating, you have to go with the lowest trim line, the LE. Any other trim line will not give you that combo. I think this is incredibly stupid for Toyota. I think Joe should mention and zonk this :) What do you lose when going with LE? For one, you don't get fog lights. Not as an option, not in a package, it's simply not available on the LE trim. You have to find some 3rd party to put a set on your car :)
@@alexmassengale433 Have you tried to build it on Toyota's website? You can get XLE 7 with either AWD or FWD, or XLE 8 with FWD. You cannot get the 8 seats with AWD. :)
I had an LE model as a rental while my company vehicle was getting serviced. It’s a phenomenal vehicle for the money. It had everything a family could want minus the plasticky softex crap. The only downside I could see is that it’s incredibly lethargic. You really have to plan for acceleration. If you floored it, it gave me some white knuckle moments trying to pass a semi truck.
@@alexmassengale433 I’m real not a fan of any of Toyota’s seat materials at this time. Their leather is low to mid quality, mass produced, and usually the leftover split grain hides. It tends to feel thin, and have very little softness or supple quality to it. Softex is Toyota’s way of cheapening the production costs across their lineup. Softex is 100% polyurethane chemical cheap garbage. But it has a fancy name and only slightly more durable than the horrific polyurethane vinyl that was in nearly every vehicle in the 1970s and 1980s. The seats that would emit harmful volatile gases as it aged. One of the reasons cars from that era had that musky funky smell when they sat for a while 😂 I’m glad you like it, I mean some folks prefer the easy cleanup characteristics of it.
The Toyota Sienna still has the older infotainment system not the newer infotainment system unlike the other Toyota models which does have the newer Toyota multimedia infotainment system. I hope that Toyota would come with the upcoming new redesign or the refresh with the new upcoming 2025 Toyota Sienna with the newer updated upgraded Toyota Lexus multimedia infotainment system?
That really is a shame. Would be great to see this have the tech of the Grand Highlander. Hopefully for 2025 they bring that system. Hopefully they also give an 8 seat option for higher trims. Then this would be a perfect family car. Assuming they can make enough for them to be easily available without long waits and/or markups.
I just bought a brand new Toyota sienna and it’s probably the worst van I got for my wife I think we are going back to DODGE cuz to much safety crap in this van and don’t like the engine it’s been in the shop 3 time and we have only had it for 1 months. So idk not impressed at all
Toyota and Honda are dragging behind Kia/Huyndai when it comes to tech. Screens are small and have poor image quality. Cmon guys....at least bring your stuff to 2015. You're way behind. 10" infotainment center with a 480P resolution? It's laughable.
I've only ever driven a 2005 and 2018 but from my experience the 2005 lasts way longer, significantly less maintenance than the 2018 when the 2005 has 3x the amount of miles

Nice video. I believe the AWD version Sienna comes with 18" tires, not 20". In the 2-wheel version, you get 20" wheels. Also (and this really gets me) is the wheels on any version are NOT aluminum alloy. They have some kind of wheel cover over a standard steel wheel. At this price range, they should come with alloy wheels, IMO. Just a little niggle here, but the AWD version only gets 35 and 36 MPG, not the 36 and 36 MPG of the 2-wheel drive version. Overall, I think the Toyota Sienna is the mini-van winner!
I still like the Carnivals styling shame it ain’t offered in hybrid and AWD but the lack of AWD isn’t a problem been I live in Los Angeles don’t it need
