The minivan is definitely more practical and spacious. The only thing I don’t like about the new sienna is the fact you can’t remove entirely the 2nd row seats. There also appears to be less headroom in the third row due to design elements to make it sporty looking. I love my 2013 Toyota sienna.
My Higlander has 84" of clear cargo space behind the front seat with the rest of the seats layed down. The Sienna doesn't have this feature for the second row seats and that is why I don't own one.

Yeah it's ridiculous what Toyota is doing. Making customers pay the Platinum price of $58k for a base model SMH. I'm also noticing they have jack in stock for the higher trims. Is there a chip shortage or what?
That is very true but people should buy the grand highlander if they just wanna midsize SUV and they don’t wanna pay as much. But dang that car is nice.
My mom needs this car because I have a therapist coming to comfort me in the car so the third row would be perfect especially when sometimes my little sister comes to run errands too
Toyota doesn't make excess vehicles like some other automakers; they're only building vehicles that are already sold. If you see a new one at a dealership that's not sold, it's because someone backed out of getting the car.
That second row, to me, is the biggest negative versus an Odyssey. Only two seats and they aren't designed to be removable. I need three across the second row sometimes and sometimes its nice to take out the middle row for max cargo space.

I owned a 2022 sienna XLE AWD. I loved it. But even seeing the GH - I prefer it to the sienna. Sienna downfalls: light suspension bottoms out easy when loading for trips. Lift gate is too low for someone who is 6’ tall. Have to bend to prevent hitting head.
The Sienna XSE has stiff and hash suspension, even the smallest road imperfections will cause it to shake all over, with various interior components making all kinds of squeaks and rattles, like a symphony orchestra. It was my first minivan and it looked good: lowed body, big wheels low profile tire, sport body kit. Aside from the vibration and noise, it didn't give me any sense of a sports car. I sold this POS within a year.
I had the AWD version with 18" wheels... I can imagine the FWD models with 20" wheels are worse! I didn't have an XSE to test drive beforehand, but I had a sienna LE rental and I liked it. I didn't think the XSE would be THAT much stiffer... well, it is folks. Find a way to go for a test drive. the XSE also does not have the acoustic glass or sound deadening, so with the stiffer suspension I feel that it transfers more noise into the cabin. the suspension is just overkill for a minivan.
I chose the Honda minivan because the Sienna seats are too uncomfortable and less versatile. I don't need crazy legroom, but I do need all the things the Honda's seats can do. Also, I didn't particularly appreciate how this car drove or handled. Sure it has top-notch gas mileage but it also 6K-8K more so you're kind of paying for the MPG cost difference upfront
