You are missing a bunch of important stuff.. 1) sienna has no dvd player, just a screen and hdmi 2) odyssey has no ceiling air vents 3) odyssey volume stats are so much higher because the second row is removable, not because it’s physically bigger 4) sienna has camping mode which can run the climate control off the hybrid battery and only turn on engine to recharge it if you want to sleep in the van
We have a 2001 Odyssey purchased new. Perfect condition. Only issue was the transmission, but it was replaced under warranty at 105000 miles. NO issues. Gave to my daughter and just purchased a 2024 Odyssey. Sienna was too expensive and no arm rests on the front seats. My wife is very short and with the Sienna's seat moved very close to the steering wheel, she has no place to put her arm. Just took a 5 hour road trip and we got 31.3 MPG with a packed car. With almost a 20 gallon tank, did not have to feel up the car. AWD is nice and so is hybrid, but for the cost they want for a Sienna, you can purchase a lot of gas. Plus, I know my car will last 300000 miles and will not have to replace the battery.
Wow they replaced it under warranty at 105000?! How is that possible, did they do you a solid? I thought Honda only had a 5 Year - 60K Mile Powertrain Warranty. I was leaning towards the Sienna (I'm early in my search) but all these dealers are selling it above MSRP. I can't get a Sienna XSE I'd like for less than $50K (Includes JBL and other packages) which is absurd. It looks like I may settle for Odyssey instead, glad it worked for you.
I was given a 2000 ody. Still runs has 120k on it. But she's getting old and parts are getting hard to find. The old odyssey had transmission issues which caused honda to extend the original warranty. The trans on my 2000 died at 75,000 mi.
What annoys me is yet again we have another top trim family vehicle with dedicated captains chairs in the second row. Toyota wins this comparison by a mile, but if you need to haul 8 passengers and want the top trim, Honda wins because they understand that people buy minivans for MAX people hauling capacity!
@@Zeek509 also the 2nd (middle row) middle seat is so small, under padded, thinly cushioned, narrow, cheesy cheap and not stand-alone like the 2nd Generation Toyota Sienna built from 2004-2010. I had the 2005 and its 3-seat 2nd row is the best and the most comfortable.
@seikocitizenwatches Yeah everything is done to maximize profits now and for luxury at the cost of practicality. I drive a 2008 vehicle with very few issues. Mom and sister drive cars loaded with tech and so many faulty issues. Im keeping my car as long as I can.
Ty I used to think I was strange for actually wanting all 8 seats and the top trim. This is why only the Honda and Kia Carnival were on my list. Very happy with the Kia, middle seat in 2nd row easily accommodates infant seat anchored in, and can slide all the way back out of the way when not in use (w( 3rd row folded).
I agree. Unfortunately it's very common with suv's too. I wanted a 2nd row bench so bad, but, nah... kids in 2nd row are in boosted seats, child seats etc. They won't be using thr heating/cooling seats... sucks.
They both great Van 🚐! But I prefer the Honda because I get used to work on all my Honda ! I have my 07 odyssey , 130000 miles with new timing belt, water pump and spark plugs ! 0 problems for all these years !
@@evidencebased1- We got one over the weekend for $3,930 off MSRP, with no add-ons. Was actually a better discount than the same dealer had on 2024s a month ago. More Honda dealers with inventory=competitive pricing. Toyota gave 0 breaks and don’t care to compete with one another
@@snorlaxTACO I haven’t noticed any vibration but will pay attention. 2025 is great!! Only complaints I have is it’s harder to get into row three compared to my 2015 Sedona and the hard plastic dash to the LEFT of driver. Otherwise, perfect for me.
I just picked up a 2024 Odyssey Touring a couple weeks ago straight off the dealer lot. The Sienna lost 10.6 points due to the dealer telling me I needed to put down a deposit and wait 2 years for delivery. As long as Toyota is selling promissory notes instead of vehicles, I’ll go somewhere else.
I really wanted the Sienna, but I was told I would need to wait several months to a year to get a 2025. Honda actually had a 2025 Black Edition available. Truth be told, I am really enjoying the Honda. My biggest disappointment is obviously the lack of all wheel drive as hybrid not being an option. Other than that, I love it. Thanks guys. Great review and information!
One major difference is the seating right behind the driver. The Honda seats in the second row are removable, and gives you a lot more storage space for camping trips, beach trips , hauling furniture pieces, etc. The Toyota second row seats are not removable, they only slide forward.
Actually, it is Yes. The resale is much, MUCH better on a Toyota Hybrid. Many people will pay more (by evidence of higher "markup" price) for the superior van. Same when it comes to buying used. My 2021 Rav4 Hybrid is still (w/60k miles) worth more than any similar 2021 Honda CRV.
We watched a tons of reviews and narrowed down our preferences to the 2025 sienna xle awd and 2025 odyssey touring. We were slightly bias toward the sienna due to AWD and great gas mileage. Then we went for a back to back test drive. We first drove the sienna and thought it was good enough. Then went to the neighboring dealership to test drive the odyssey. As soon as the sales person opened the Honda we were immediately wowed by the interior build quality compared to the sienna. Then we drove it and felt like it was quieter and more comfortable then the sienna. We immediately forgot about the sienna and made up our mind to get the honda. We got the honda at 2k below msrp and 1.9% rate for 4 years. For the these goodies on the Honda odyssey we forgave it for it's drastically lower gas mileage. At the end of day don't only base your opinion on reviews. Test drive both and see what you like. In our case, before test driving we did not know we would like the Honda so much.
TL;DW - The Sienna is great, but good luck finding one without a multi-month wait and without $3-5k in dealer "market adjustments". The MSRP comparison is next to worthless with this model.
Honda can carry the family at speed in traffic and merge . The 6 cylinder and transmission make that difference. If Honda offers a hybrid it should be mated to the 6-cyl and not to a turbo 4.
thats exactly why the Odyssey wins 10 speed v6. not that turbo 4 cylinder cvt junk. that belongs in the Corolla not the sienna. Honda Odyssey has always beaten sienna in speed and power. i own a 2016 Odyssey touring and destroy my sister's 2020 sienna.
I've been a Toyota fan for a long time and currently own 2 Toyota vehicles. I was very disappointed when Toyota decided to drop the bulletproof 2GR V6 motor. I know it's to save fuel, but I would rather have the longevity of the vehicle than spill out a ton of $$$ when the hybrid system or the turbocharger goes out.
I totally agree I have a 2015 nothing fancy just really reliable drives just fine have over 100,000 miles on it hoping to put on at least another hundred thousand easily
In my opinion, I feel like the only thing that’s holding Honda back is not having a hybrid system and no all-wheel-drive on the Odyssey, but then again Toyota inventory for the sienna is horrible
I agree. I think people are leaning more toward fuel economy over power and that's what is creating a long wait for Toyota. If Honda had a hybrid version they would sell like candy as well.
@@hectorbarrera7953 I was between 2025 Odyssey and 2024 Sienna XLE. Odyssey I can get for 10k less, all-in. Driving around 15k miles a year with gas around 3.59, it'd take me 10 years to break even, and that wasn't even counting the higher registration fees for hybrids.
Honda is smart for not realising hybrids because they'll probably be the same price after all but if they can have the oddesey be a couple thousand less and no wait to buy one, a lot of people will probably go for the Odessy
You guys didn't mention that the Sienna has Toyota safety sense 2.0 which is a few generations old compared to their other vehicles with 2.5 or 3.0. That's all the sensors, chips, camera quality. Pretty big difference. What about features like emergency steering assist, pre collision precautions, dynamic radar cruise control, automatic high beams, improved lane change assist..
it doesn't matter if you need it or not, your dropping $60k on a minivan it should come with the latest features and safety tech that other similarly priced competitor vehicles are coming with.
@@Jallelab99141 This is the correct answer, it's insane that in 2024 (soon to be 2025) people are still bending over backwards to defend corporations as if they aren't making a significant purchase
This is one of those comparisons where on paper you say, I should get a Sienna. Then you test drive both and 5 minutes in you know you want to buy an Odyssey lol. Not to mention once you start playing around with the second and third rows’ usability, the literal reason you buy a minivan.
@evidencebased1 The honda odyssey has a v6 , very user friendly, dependable, reliable know to last 300k miles with minor issues , how do I know, I own a 2011 touring and have driven the new one
Just look at 10:36 and see the obvious difference in the size of the third row seat cushion. The Odyssey is nice and deep and supportive looking, whereas the one in the Sienna looks like it belongs in a low-rent budget vehicle for tiny people.
@@thecriticalthinkeroutsidet4947 it’s definitely coming considering Toyota is slowly electrifying their whole lineup in NA, but perhaps not for this generation
Sign me up! Wanted the PacHy, but too many issues long term with a couple mechanics also telling me to stay away. Kia, Honda, Toyota... First one to PHEV and I'm trading in.
@@NavrajSimranour used 2021 PacHy was the obvious choice with used PHEV credit of $4,000 off our taxes. For $19k with 62k miles there was nothing that was going to touch it for local commuting on electrons. There have been recalls and warranty extension on everything except the engine and the traction battery. So most everything is covered for many years, no need for a warranty.
I think the price is about the same if you factor in the Sienna AWD. Where I live I need AWD. Took it on a trip recently, averaged over 39 MPG! That's crazy!! Great vehicle
What about 4x8 plywood? Odyssey yes it will fit (2nd row removed). Sienna can't fit plywood, seats are not removeable. No spare tire for the Sienna. Honda has a spare tire.
After testing all the minivans and relatively priced family 3-row SUVs, we got a new 2021 Sienna Hybrid XLE out of the door at $41K including 6yr Toyota Care warranty and 1.8% interest rate for 60 months. We had found the Sienna XLE FWD with 8 seats and most minivan relevant features to be the best combination at the 2021 pricing we managed. This car has been super reliable with more than $30K miles, $0 spent on repairs, just regular maintenance and an observed mileage of 34.6mpg over it's lifetime. We have driven with 8 people, or crazy stuff hauling and road trips over the last 3.5 years without hiccups. Our next ideal upgrade would be the Sienna Prime!!
The Odyssey gets 5.5 for ride, but your description leads one to believe it is better than the Sienna which gets an 8. I think more detail would be helpful. I like your channel and keep up with the good videos.
I love the Sienna! I have a 2020 with over 85,000 miles on it. My dream is to own a Sienna Hybrid. The one thing I am disappointed is Toyota made AWD optional with the 2021 model. Thank you for the video. I found it very informative!
We’ve had Toyota, Mercury, Mazda, Dodge, Ford, Honda since the early 90s. This new Toyota Sienna Hybrid is the best and my current 2021 Toyota Sienna Hybrid has been driven past 100K miles without a single issue. My 2005 Toyota Sienna drove past 330k miles with only a few minor repairs after 19 years (sold). None of other brands made past 200k miles without a major repair (transmission, Engine, AC, suspension). Mercury transmission failed at 80k miles yuck! Mazda a MPV although reliable but poor design and gas guzzling get less than 19 mpg on the meager 3.0L V6. That minivan was small and ride was uncomfortable especially noises NVH.
Lol his scoring is a mess... Not sure what the goal was here, but he just gives the Sienna points throughout for no discernable reason. Sometimes he gives points for what I would honestly look at as a worse option. Just skip the scoring next time.
I sort of agree. If Honda had a slick Hybrid system like the Sienna's and an AWD option it would slay. But those are very important bits. I think Toyota screwed up not allowing easy removal of the center row.
Purchased my 2025 Honda Odyssey Touring 2 days ago... And I LOVE IT! 😭 This was AFTER test driving and seconds away from buying the Sienna XLE. In Florida, Toyota was trying to sell it at $61K. NOPE! We went straight to Honda and were driving away within 2 hours.
I have owned 3 Honda Odysseys, so I speak from my experience in actual real world usage. I have not only used the van as a family hauler, but as a mixed use vehicle: I have removed some or all of the seats, hauled plywood, sheetrock, 2x4’s, moved kids into college etc. You neglected to mention removing the middle seats seats in the Sienna is a much bigger job, and also horsepower and braking distance when driving with a full load is not the same as driving with 2 people is not the same thing. Your review only focuses on using the van as a family hauler, but many people use the van in a much more mixed use way.
I totally agree there's just my husband and myself and the dog. Plus a lot of traveling gives off a lot of extra space can camp right out of our van . I really don't care for a giant screen in the front of my dashboard. If you can't drive carefully then maybe you shouldn't be driving. The back up camera is nice but I could easily live without it. My granddaughter is now 11 she refers to my car as theNana limousine. She always says to me Nana keep that car. I want it when I go to college. So I just keep it up and I'm pretty sure you'll be driving it off to college.
You didn't mention that the Sienna has second row seats that cannot be removed, due to batteries. I would have bought a 2025,but opted for the Honda Elite
11:05 the "Hondassey"? 🤔 I am not sure if that was intentionally morphing the make and model into one word, but if it was you are GENIUS!! I am using that now, and Toyonna for the Sienna 😂
$60,000 lol. I'm sorry but even with the Honda Odyssey's low fuel efficiency. You'll still save more money after 10 years just from the inital markup if you go with the honda odyssey elite.
In 2021 I was sure I wanted to get the Sienna as it just came out in hybrid. On paper it was a no-brainer. After going to the dealership to look at the car in person I realized Sienna is just a no go. For the deal breaker was the combination of $50K price tag (expecting comfort and some luxury) combined with trashy 3rd row seat experience. I went with 2021 Odyssey Elite. I would love to see a hybrid version of Odyssey.
I think the Toyota. Even though it’s more expensive I kinda think it’s less when you think about it because it’s a hybrid. For an extra $2500, I don’t mind have a few extra features since I’m gonna be saving at the pump.
I think that is all boils down to how the owner use it. (assuming all features are same) If you use it for everyday use, then a sienna is more practical, but if you like flexibility and comfort with sporty feel on a long weekend without worrying about mileage, then Honda is preferred.
@@FuturequestTechLLC Understandable. However, I have to disagree with you for the more comfort in the Odyssey. We are talking Honda’s mini 9 inch screen, for a minivan! Just a little odd for 50k. Adding on to comfort, we have heated rear seats in Sienna and four zone climate! That’s like the BMW level of four zone for X5 except Sienna is cheaper. Let’s be real here, the Honda, even though it may have a sporty design there not used for sport usage. Minivans are used for comfort and practicality or if you have a lot of children. If I want to spend between 50-60k on a minivan, Sienna is the choice. You save money at the pump, you get a lot of rich comfort for that type of segment. Forget you talking about sport stuff for these cars. Some minivans are used for long road trips. I want a car that will be nice for the money, not a sport thing. If you want a sport car, get a BMW.
I had odyssey 2023 its mpg was horrible like 16-20, unfortunately it got totalled and I got Sienna as its replacement wow! dont have to worry about gas now, smooth drive, satisfaction guaranteed. Only worst thing is dealers markup and their attitude.
TRUE, IF YOU FACTOR IN THE 10% TAX AND LICENSE THE SIENNA IS VERY CLOSE TO 60 K, IF YOU COULD EVEN GET ONE! TOYOTA IS SCREWING THE PUBLIC, THERE WERE 3 AT THE DEALER IN ANAHEIM ALL WERE ABOUT 55K
I do mostly city and I've been averaging 39 mpg in my Sienna whereas my V6 Honda was at about 19.5 in my daily driving. Honda needs to come out with a hybrid. The V6 may be smooth but in the 99% of the time you aren't accelerating the Toyota is just as smooth and quiet and I literally get double the mpg in my mostly city driving.
We own a 17 Sienna SE and wanted to buy a new model where I would take her current van but Lord help us when we saw 55k and had to wait 6 months.... Toyota lost their minds. I own several Hondas so I told the wife we should really consider the Odyssey this time. Now if Honda suddenly lost their minds and made a Type R version I would scoop one up tomorrow, us dads like to go fast too :) I own an FK8 and would quickly toss down money on a Type R model.
Not all of us can afford the top level trims. Although I can go better than base model the Honda Odyssey Ex trim if much more affordable than any of the Sienna van offerings. And they're readily available at the dealer.
Traditional shifter is the main reason I will move to Sienna from Odyssey. As a ex-manual car driver, I like to use a shifter rather than buttons to enjoy the manual shift mode.
If there was a way to add more sound insulation to these minivans, or if acura / lexus released a premium version, the high end market would be all over these
Yes, just get a PacHy with 38 miles of EV range. Quiet as a church mouse and the most efficient way to travel with large loads today! We have a Cadillac CT6 2.0E plug-in to compare and the PacHy is just as nice.
i used the toyota inventory website to find my 2024 platinum AWD sienna in Washington state. for extended, i purchased a 10yr zero deductible warranty from midwest toyota in kansas. the warranty manager sent me a quote.
I love reading the comment section watching people argue about minivans. All I want to say is for those who are looking for speed and rather pick the Odessey, don’t buy the minivan, but a civic type r because who wants to be drag racing in a minivan. Sure you may get up to speed more in the odessey but the Sienna does pretty well in that department. I’m a Toyota lover but the Odessey is more versatile so I’ll give you that. But the mpg is the deal breaker for me cuz minivans are family cars that will most likely go for long road trips
CVT in the Toyota is going to cost a ton once it fails and it will fail. CVT kills it for me on the Toyota. Never needed AWD, with the weight and FWD, I get through any snow I've had to get through. Hybid might save a lot of money at the pump but initial cost of Toyota is a good chunk more and if/when battery fails, well.
Does anyone else see the issue with remote start being a "subscription service"...?😑 anything beyond satellite radio or on star shouldn't be allowed to be blocked off especially if it's hard wear....
I have a 2025 Odyssey and remote start is on the key fob. I believe all new odyssey trims it comes standard now. If you want to have remote start on your phone, then yes it’s a subscription service for the HondaLink app but it’s not needed if you just have your keys.
@Lilu_x I'm talking about the sienna, the Honda I get and understand if you want to start your car from your phone being a subscription due to the cost of servers and satellites to do that. I rewatched the video and it didn't look like there was a remote start button in the toyota sienna key fob.
As a Sienna owner, the gas efficiency is incredible! Full tank = 540 miles! Comfort in driving, smooth turns on highways, 8 people can easily travel long distances. I love my Sienna. ❤
Although it's not a big cost consideration, some states like ours (Virginia) at a tax on hybrids and electric cars every year. The rationale: Gas taxes pay for road repairs and maintenance. Since these don't use as much gas, you earn an additional tax to help pay for the roads. Not a big deal, but when you're comparing prices, may want to add these in.
Toyota 3yr leasing for past 15 yrs and below are findings...... 1. 3rd row window can't be opened anymore 2. The conversation mirror is too small, hense useless... 3. Driver seat is too high for a driver 6ft n above 4. Front bumber is too low for newer crub heights 5. Using Accessories mode will drain the small battery dead. So have ur van ignition turned on at all times.... 6. 3rd row flipping mechanism is of low quality compared to previous non-hybrid models..
You forgot to mention the timing belt/ chain , VCM issues and more than occasional transmission problems with the Odyssey- I know because we had all of these issues in both a 2003 and 2017- new Sienna arriving in 3 weeks!!
People should know that the e-awd is not a true awd system. It only works up to 44mph IF it detects slip. It also comes on under 7mph to get the car going.
I would love to see a detailed video comparison on the highest model available of the 8-seater Sienna with the highest model Odyssey. I have ALWAYS wanted a Sienna, it's been my dream car for YEARS, however I have been spoiled by my last several cars that have had all of the creature comforts and I want those still, but there are only a few reasons I want a minivan over an SUV, I want sliding doors, and I want to fit 8 people comfortably without sacrificing cargo space behind the 3rd row. We have a 2015 Durango, and while my stroller is quite large, when the 3rd row is up, it barely fits back there, and that's with only one stroller seat, not sure a 2nd stroller seat would fit. So, obviously both vans check those two boxes, but only the Odyssey has any decent creature comfort options. My plan is to go test drive an Odyssey and then go to the Toyota dealership to see what options the Sienna XLE 8-seater can be ordered with, and what can be added when it arrives. I'm really hoping the Sienna comes out on top, but we'll see. It's also a much better looking vehicle and I always admire them when I see them on the road!
I give the Sienna an advantage, since the extra $2k in price is offset by the AWD system. I think if the test included the Sienna's FWD option, the pricing would have been a lot closer to the Odyssey, which does not offer AWD in any trim.
Sienna for van life conversion purposes. As i understand it the climate control can be run in standby with the hydrid so will turn off/on automatically and use very little fuel
No youtubers talk about sienna steering wheel. Its very stiff compare to odyssey. Sienna braking is weak compare to odyssey. Sienna engine is noisy. No you tube reviewer talk about battery replacement cost of sienna after 150000 miles which can be $5000 to $15000 if you count both batteries. Take sienna on highway on hills and then review it. Highway mileage on odyssey and sienna not much different. Sienna gets 32 on hwy and odyssey get 27. Only good thing about sienna is mpg when you drive in city. Dont buy sienna before test drive on highway with uphill. It doesnt snow much upnorth if you are buying sienna for awd. If money not an issue, buy an oddyssey. If you mostly drive in city ,buy sienna. For highway use, buy odyssey.
You failed to show the “emptied” cargo space and how the 2nd row seats are either removed or stowed. I’m looking for a replacement for my beloved Olds Silhouette….best daily car I’ve ever owned. Used it mostly empty to haul. The 2nd row was completely removable (pretty heavy but easy) to haul 4x8 plywood. Any info before I run the dealership gauntlet? Bonus points if the third rows can owner be removed too!
HP, reliability, and style are what I look for in a vehicle so I bought the Odyssey. It was a no brainer. The Sienna is down 40HP on the Honda so who wants to drive a mini van with “adequate power” and what’s up with that big swoosh on the side? The only thing I will add to my Odyssey is a set of better performing tires because the OEM set are good at improving gas mileage but not much else. I was driving a Pacifica and have to say the Odyssey has more of a car like feel. At least test drive the Big O before buying anything else.
The Honda wins because it’s not as embarrassing to drive or embarrassing at all, it looks great, the power is needed on the highway and the price is alittle better. That said you can’t lose with either, both are great.
The odyssey is the van for the buyer who loves the drive. It’s not a sports car but compared to the other minivans on the market it has always been the most enjoyable to drive. Reliability I pretty hard to judge right now with the Toyota powertrain still being so new. Being a Toyota it will probably be fine but I don’t know how I feel about a small engine in such a large vehicle and a battery that will need to be replaced someday. The awd is nice in the sienna but it’s rear drive is only the electric motors from the hybrid system. There is no connection to the engine in the front. Will be interesting to see if that becomes problematic over time. Maybe I’m getting old but I like the tried and true simplicity of a naturally aspirated engine and standard transmission even at the expense of fuel economy. Especially because these vehicles are workhorses that will likely be abused.
what about Kia Carnival? Carnival has been chosen top minivan from many comparisons. Kia just added Hybrid in their powertrain also. comparison Hybrid to Hybrid need to see.
THERE IS NO WAY KIA IS AS RELIABLE AS EITHER ONE OF THESE, SANTE FE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, POOR DEALER ACCOUNTABILITY, PAINT FLAKING OFF SOME MODELS, MUCH WORSE TRADE IN VALUE, TRY TO RESELL AN OLDER ONE, EASY TO STEAL, H.S KIDS FIGURED IT OUT, NOT ME PAY MORE $ AND GET THE REAL DEAL! YOU ARE NEVER SORRY IF YOU GET THE BEST ONE AVAIL. REALLY NOW, HOW MANY HAVE U SEEN DRIVING AROUND? I HAVE SEEN VERY FEW 23s AND 24S.
@@kevink8343 I just can't understand a reclining ottoman chair,in a car. If you're on a long road trip, you should be getting out of the car and walking around. So Don't get any blood clots.😊
My choice would be Sienna as it has AWE, Hybrid and more luxurious options. But my skepticism is around driving experience of an hybrid. Does it sound louder when the car is idling? I had that experience in Prius 3 which I didn’t like
I'd like to hear about ANC active noise cancellation and VCM variable cylinder management on Honda, that are sore spots. The Sienna doesn't have these AFAIK.

What annoys me is yet again we have another top trim family vehicle with dedicated captains chairs in the second row.
Same for us. Markups and eventual battery issue means no to Sienna and Odyssey is the better vehicle for us.

One major difference is the seating right behind the driver. The Honda seats in the second row are removable, and gives you a lot more storage space for camping trips, beach trips , hauling furniture pieces, etc. The Toyota second row seats are not removable, they only slide forward.

@@goldwin14 All I hear is crickets ;-)
I’m debating those models and the Kia Carnival. Good idea to test drive them to see my preference. I’m not that good at big decisions lol.
TL;DW - The Sienna is great, but good luck finding one without a multi-month wait and without $3-5k in dealer "market adjustments". The MSRP comparison is next to worthless with this model.
75k TOYOTA SIENNAAAAA WOOOOOOOOOOO
Yup. Dealers in my area want 70k for a Sienna Platinum, whereas you can easily get a Odyssey Elite under 50.
I got mine for 36k with awd lol
@proto12qs I got mine for under 37k with awd when it came out lol.
Honda can carry the family at speed in traffic and merge . The 6 cylinder and transmission make that difference. If Honda offers a hybrid it should be mated to the 6-cyl and not to a turbo 4.
Problem is. If they come with a Hybrid its most likely going to be with the 4 cylinder. 🤷🏽
Most likely will be 4 cylinder unfortunately if honda go with hybrid
thats exactly why the Odyssey wins 10 speed v6. not that turbo 4 cylinder cvt junk. that belongs in the Corolla not the sienna.

We had found the Sienna XLE FWD with 8 seats and most minivan relevant features to be the best combination at the 2021 pricing we managed. We have driven with 8 people, or crazy stuff hauling and road trips over the last 3.5 years without hiccups. Our next ideal upgrade would be the Sienna Prime!!

Thank you for the clarification.
I definitely feel that the ride in the Odyssey is more comfortable than the Sienna . A reason I'm torn between comfort and fuel economy.

With the Odyssey having an extra seat which the Sienna lacks, I would expect that to be a major difference (instead of 0.5 point difference).
The Sienna has reclining seats, but they didn't give it any points.

I sort of agree. If Honda had a slick Hybrid system like the Sienna's and an AWD option it would slay. But those are very important bits. I think Toyota screwed up not allowing easy removal of the center row.

CVT in the Toyota is going to cost a ton once it fails and it will fail. CVT kills it for me on the Toyota. Never needed AWD, with the weight and FWD, I get through any snow I've had to get through.

Why did the Sienna get .5 for the climate controls?
Sienna for van life conversion purposes. As i understand it the climate control can be run in standby with the hydrid so will turn off/on automatically and use very little fuel
Would not the 2025 Sienna with the upgrades occurring been a worthy delay vs the 2025 Odyssey with all it’s changes to do same MY comparisons?

Take sienna on highway on hills and then review it.
Highway mileage on odyssey and sienna not much different. Sienna gets 32 on hwy and odyssey get 27.
Only good thing about sienna is mpg when you drive in city.
Dont buy sienna before test drive on highway with uphill.
It doesnt snow much upnorth if you are buying sienna for awd.

If you mostly drive in city ,buy sienna.
For highway use, buy odyssey.

At least test drive the Big O before buying anything else.
honda odyssey, almost 300k miles, 2005, running great, over all I prefer the odyssey. had a 99' before that and now a 2019
The Honda wins because it’s not as embarrassing to drive or embarrassing at all, it looks great, the power is needed on the highway and the price is alittle better. That said you can’t lose with either, both are great.
Please compare them to Kia SX Prestige also.
What are your thoughts on the base-level Sienna vs base level Odyssey?
💩
It may be great on paper, but will the KIA last as long as Honda and Toyota without malfunctioning?
THERE IS NO WAY KIA IS AS RELIABLE AS EITHER ONE OF THESE, SANTE FE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, POOR DEALER
ACCOUNTABILITY, PAINT FLAKING OFF SOME MODELS, MUCH WORSE TRADE IN VALUE, TRY TO RESELL AN OLDER ONE,
EASY TO STEAL, H.S KIDS FIGURED IT OUT, NOT ME PAY MORE $ AND GET THE REAL DEAL! YOU ARE NEVER SORRY
IF YOU GET THE BEST ONE AVAIL. REALLY NOW, HOW MANY HAVE U SEEN DRIVING AROUND? I HAVE SEEN VERY FEW 23s AND 24S.
@@tastyorange KIA doesn't offer AWD. Sienna 2nd row w ottoman's is the feature we're after.
@@kevink8343 I just can't understand a reclining ottoman chair,in a car. If you're on a long road trip, you should be getting out of the car and walking around. So Don't get any blood clots.😊
still a waiting list for sienna?
My choice would be Sienna as it has AWE, Hybrid and more luxurious options. But my skepticism is around driving experience of an hybrid. Does it sound louder when the car is idling? I had that experience in Prius 3 which I didn’t like
Its only fair to compare 2025 Sienna (just announced) against the 2025 Odyssey. Either way both solid.
We will update when that model becomes available 👍
I'd like to hear about ANC active noise cancellation and VCM variable cylinder management on Honda, that are sore spots. The Sienna doesn't have these AFAIK.
