The Pirate Ship has always been running when i have been there, and i go quite often. Must have just visited at the wrong time. Also, if there is an adequate number of staff, the ride will open. If there isnt, the ride is not opened, due to health and safety reasons. Only on rare occasions are rides shut due to staff shortage.
