      haven’t used this personally, but I would think it would be fairly straightforward to route as many mic signals as needed into this monitoring system.

    Wish there was a rack version of this. It makes more sense to me so you can customize the mix and the outputs are going right into my IEM transmitter.

  • @Heywoodj1969
    @Heywoodj1969 4 года назад +4

    Ok
    1. Is this going to need shielded cat5e when transmitting aes50 just like the rest of the x and m lines to avoid static electricity and loss of signal
    2. Will there be an app to control and build your mixes so it is not required to use the hardware, especially for the guy “sharing” without the hox in front of him/her
    3. Please come up with a single rack space bank of 8 xlrs solution for digital snakes, where you can build your own configurations...daisy chain them with aes50 etc... say 4 input modules and two output modules... 32x16
    User could add, build as required...
    Also, if you had a bank of 8 outputs, you could install it in a monitor amp rack, and feed it with a single ethercon..

      Number 3 is such a good idea. I wonder if that is the "8 channel hub" he was talking about that is in development. I can just imagine how helpful the added amount of flexibility would be. Pricey, though.

    So musicians will need to be near each other to reach and change parameters?!? What if there is one unit left and the other musician needs to be on the other side of the room?

    @luisgregoriojr762 4 года назад +2

    So does this mean that I will need a hub if I want to connect this from x32 Beringher mixer or can I connect them directly from the x32 to the DP28??

      You do not need the HUB. You can connect directly from the mixer from an AES out, however, you have to use the included power supply. The HUB provides PoE and connectivity to IEM systems. The DP48 is a great unit even if the A and B mixers are housed in one unit.

    • @vanderhooftamvl6587
      @vanderhooftamvl6587 4 года назад

      Greg&Christy Stevens since the HD supports the AES50 protocol it will output audio to the DP48’s, but it would totally make sense if the HD has the remote control functions available as well

    • @gregchristystevens6804
      @gregchristystevens6804 4 года назад

      Yes but if I recall the DP48 only runs at 44.1 and 48k. HD is a 96k platform. Will that have any affect?

    • @vanderhooftamvl6587
      @vanderhooftamvl6587 4 года назад

      Greg&Christy Stevens midas Pro series support them as well, but I don’t think it works with 96KHz, because of the AES50 channel protocol. Maybe compatible with hd96 when running 48K?

    • @gregchristystevens6804
      @gregchristystevens6804 4 года назад

      That’s a problem bc folks who buy the HD are going to want to run that system at 96k. It would’ve made sense for Midas to make this system compatible to that.

    This was kind of a crap introduction to this unit. Full of all sorts of vague and unrelated comments: "you name it, it has it", "users should feel like they're sitting on a couch, that's the goal of any in-ear system", "more advanced controls and features the user doesn't have to worry about"... And apparently we don't have to know or understand either. Show us how it works, show us the buttons doing things and routing, show us the back end controls. I don't care how it makes the user feel, I want to know how it operates, what's the user interface really look like...

      From what I can figure out is that you can assign a certain number of channels into one group. You can mess with individual volume level and panning per channel, and then the group volume adjusts the amount of level for that group proportionally.

    • @TotalEvo7
      @TotalEvo7 4 года назад

      And yes, to adjust a particular group, you will have to select what group it is you're working with

  • @edrugmanmusic
    @edrugmanmusic 4 года назад

    This seems ridiculously complicated for musicians who are used to the one instrument per channel paradigm or perhaps a group on one or two of those channels a la avioms or p16. Three knobs to change settings? Two musicians on the one box? This is asking for trouble. Who has time to squint at a small fonts on a little display during a gig? I’m sure it’s wonderful but intuitive to non technicians.... ?

    • @rufuscrowder1309
      @rufuscrowder1309 3 года назад

      You can still use it as one instrument to one channel. The LED screen with the group names is very bright (and my vision without glasses is very bad). Once you try it and hear your instruments through it, you will love it.

    • @yadielmercedes3635
      @yadielmercedes3635 4 года назад

      Doesn't the P16 only mix 16 channels, this mixes 3 times that, and plus two musicians instead of one for the same price. I could only wish it were compatible with other mixers other than Midas and X32s

    • @rufuscrowder1309
