The same as Albino, no one here in Brazil made a video about this. Saved me, I've just changed my batteries and using my shaver. Thanks a lot!
I owe you for your time, effort and blood by accidentally injuring your hand showing us great detailed instructions of taking everything apart property. Also Your English was amazing you are a true hero God bless you!

Wonderful! Thank you for your help to resurrect my machine.
I´m from Brazil, thanks a lot for the great tutorial!
bro you're a hero, here in Brazil no one made a video about this, thank you for taking your time to help us.
Here I am for the second time to thank you, I needed to replace my batteries again and It worked, never going to replace my shaver until it really dies 😂😂😂😂
Thank you mate from india Bangalore ,power holder was a tricky this helped me a lot
Great Video! Thank You Tomasz! The question is why PHILIPS constructs the product so complicated? Many of these shavers will be thrown away as garbage because of those f**** NiMH accu/batteries which cannot be charged anymore. 99% of the product is still ok. This is the PHILIPS contribution for sustainability and environmental protection.
I suspect that in case of this particular model the reason why the battery is buried so deep inside is because of the waterproofing as you can use the shaver in the shower where it is subject not only to water splashes but in general very high humidity.
Good on Phillips for making it able to be disassembled without breaking it, and good on you for showing us how to do it! This is a great little machine and it would be a shame to throw it away just because it needs a new battery. Awesome vid, thanks!

I would be more inclined to say good on them, if they had made a door on it, held maybe with one screw, so you could replace the batteries with your own. Much like a tv remote control.
They are sealed in so you are tempted to just go out and buy another one, which I won't be doing while they are still like this.
Part of this being done this way could be because of the shaver being totally waterproof. And since these are rechargeables, they do last a couple years.
Thanks man. Mine died today. It did problems in the past but today it decided to refuse the charger as well...Good tutorial, no pointless bullshit talking. Everything is on point!

To Tomasz Pławski: Thanks a lot for this realy good guide to repair this Philips BT9290. It helps to save money and to protect our environment. Thanks to Philips to make it able to repair without breaking it.
Thank you for the video. For a few Euro’s working again.
Thank you so much for making this video, a very good DIY👌
Managed to fix my bt9280 without any problems with your help👍
I'm very happy now😁
Cool, great that you were able to fix it, because besides the non-removable battery it is a really excellent cutter
@@TomaszPlawski Yeah as you say it's a really solid and good quality cutter even after all these years of use so I figured I'd give it one more chance and ended up here on your excellent video. Even if I wouldn't have found my way here I've would have tried it and probably broken a clip or two but now I got the batterys, tools needed and 5min later it was done👍😁

Thanks a lot Tomasz
Very good and helpfull video.
The new battery is a 1000mAh vs the original 750mAh.
The razor works once again and better.

Thanks a lot for the detailed video. I was about to throw the machine in the garbage. I was able fix the machine after watching this video. I just want to bring the attention to the round part which you removed first. There is a very tiny piece of plastic in the front hole of this part. I didn’t notice it when I removed the part and it fell down on the sofa. When I finished putting the parts together, I noticed the blades part is loose a bit and doesn’t make the click sound when I rotate it between the small blades and the large blades. Fortunately, I found the tiny piece on the sofa and I put in the hole but I wasted a lot of time to identify the reason of the loose blades. That’s why I commented here.
Just fixed mine thanks to this vid, thanks so much brother!

Thnak you very much for this video! Mine didn't even work with the charger attached anymore, now it's as good as new. The original Batteries died after just 3 years. Although I charged my new batteries fully before putting them in, the shaver still said that they're empty. After charging them inside the charger, it works now.
Lucky ! I got stuck on the same problem every day

have the same razor model, and according to your instructions, I changed the batteries for new ones, though I took Enveloop, now it holds a long charge and lasts for a month of work! Thanks a lot.
Great to hear you did a successful swap. True eneloops are great although I have heard rumors that the rechargeable batteries at IKEA are probably made by the same company or at least they seem to offer the same great performance, but at a significantly lower cost.
There is a great write up about Eneloop vs. IKEA batteries here www.provideocoalition.com/ikea-batteries-eneloops-disguise/

Thank you Tomasz. With your help here I replaced the batteries in my shaver and it works great now. I used eneloop 800mAh batteries. Like you my batteries were suppose to be pre-charged, but it didn't seem to work right away. Once I plugged the cable in for 10 seconds everything worked, even after removing the cable.

Hey Man, greatings from Brasil, I Will try It too, thanks.
Worth repairing, it’s a fairly simple task whilst this model is an excellent shaver. All those years of use and the blades are still cutting great.
Thanks your vídeo safe me to buy another one 🙌🏻
Great step by step video. Seems like many people have issues with the battery. Reassembling the middle part was probably the hardest part of it, but now once battery is replaced, trimmer works like a brand new one. Thanks!
Glad it helped

Great video. The battery doesn't charge properly on my shaver. I have to leave it on charge for an hour, press the power button, then charge for 5mins and it works. However you have to repeat this with every use. 🤞🏼 this works as it is the best trimmer ive had.
The new replacement I bought from phillips is terrible! Series 5000 bt5502.
What type of replacement cells did you install? Same capacity as original?
@Tomasz Pławski I haven't replaced them yet.. I'm hoping this demo will help me fix it.
@@don-ricardo ok, I thought you changed them and these were the symptoms now, the shaver could behave weird if you use very different cells to the originals as they might charge differently, have a different voltage drop etc., which could confuse the charging circuitry.
@Tomasz Pławski it works! 🙌 Great video sir. Anyone should give this a go if they need to fix their's, it is very simple if you follow this. Still the best shaver around.
One thing.. For anyone who like me snapped the circulation strip welded to the existing batteries, don't panic, tin foil works a treat 👍
Parabens, fiz no meu e deu certo ,
great thanks

Thanks for the tutorial! I changed the batteries on my BT9280 and was very simple. But now I have an issue that the machine is heating up, which I suppose would indicate a short somewhere. It doesn't seem to charge properly either. Anyone else run into something like this?
I had the same: I thought I mounted the battery pack wrong but it's the print burnt through or something like that. I could not charge for more than 60 % .. missed two stripes and when I wanted to switch on the capacity was zero again . Just like the same with the old batteries. It worked a day because I put the charged ones in , but after a day it was done and now looking for a new print .

Wow!
Hi Tomasz, could you please write which screwdriver ( size or head number) you have used to open, the screws are really small and regular screwdriver bits doesnt work.
Thank you and will be glad if you reply.
Did I just replaced my batteries only to find out that the charger is not charging? 😒
Anything improved? Did you use the same type rechargeable batteries as the original?
Mine did not disable the laser when it was retracted and drain battery. Now it does not charge at all, do you think it's possible to fix battery drain due to the laser? Is there any way to disable the laser completely?
I guess you could just disassemble the whole module as it’s “plug’n’play”
Hi,
Many thanks for this amazing video, I fix the my Philips with the new battery but now I have a new problem with the On/Off button. Any idea ? It's only work when I'm triggering without the plastic cover.
Did you check if everything snapped evenly into place?

I followed this, and ordered some expensive chargeable AAA's, but tried a new-non-recharable as a test... and though it was full power, it would still flash low power...
I don't want to waste the expensive batteries if something else is wrong with it, thoughts?
I’m afraid that testing with regular batteries might not be reliable. Non rechargeable batteries generally have 1.5V, rechargeable are lower voltage, but often can pump out much higher current. Having such different characteristic the electronics of the shaver probably become “confused”.
@@TomaszPlawski ah, the original batteries seem to hold 1.3v but it wont work with them, or the 1.55v test batteries
Hi. What about replacing battery on shaver that has no screws? I have Renpho model es-sh1802. Battery is not recharging anymore and there are no screws whatsoever on the shaver. I dont want to break it, I guess it unsnaps somehow along the seam.
Is it something like this? ebay.us/ycTq7Q I would start off trying to remove the panel where the power switch is located and there might be some screws underneath that, although the whole enclosure might as well be just snapped together which is usually a bit difficult to separate without some thin shims
@@TomaszPlawski that is exactly the model I have. I will look and try to get under the panel which holds the power switch. Thanks for the reply!

After I replaced the batteries somehow I killed the laser... Any idea what happened? I replaced the batteries with 800mah 1.2v Tesla rechargeable batteries.
Did you check the connection terminals, maybe it’s just a lack of contact? To kill the laser you probably would need to e.g. reverse polarity, but then I suspect that the entire shaver wouldn’t work
My laser stopped too... Hahahhaha
Hi ,
Is there specific type of rechargeable battery to be used with it ?
Best to use something with a similar capacity and type. Theoretically you could get some of the modern very high capacity LiPo but I would be worried that the electronics not being optimizes for that will not charge them correctly and therefore they will quickly degrade.
@@TomaszPlawski Many thanks , Could you plz share a link with me for a battery with same spec .
I used some 1.2V aaa 800mAh NiMH cells (the closest capacity to the original 750mAh) I don’t remember the brand, but somebody in the comments mentioned recently that they successfully used the eneloops, therefore it would be something like this ebay.us/TUbzhX
Ps. You might need to copy or retype that link into your web browser as RUclips viewer sometimes distorts the links adding to them some tracking information and then eBay says they cannot find the item
… could be that it’s not only RUclips but the way different web browsers treat eBay shortlinks… it also doesn’t seem to open on the Microsoft edge browser, only Opera :( if it doesn’t work, you can just search for Eneloop 800mAh aaa 1.2V and find the best offer.
