Okay everyone, remember that the mod releases tomorrow 22nd of May! The website will only work after I have released it! Otherwise, thank you very much Taka for the video and hope you have fun with the 2205 I imagined it 😊 Edit: very good decision that you created a new company, since otherwise you wouldn't have lasted five minutes I suppose 😂 no goods would be produced whatsoever due to the new chains.
I always thought 2205 was an underrated anno game. Not the best by any stretch but very unfairly looked down upon, and this mod looks awesome. Looking forward to this play through.
Agreed. They just tried to change the formula a little. From all the games, it has certainly the feel of the biggest scale and it's kind of conclusion of 2070 and that there is a hope for mankind.
Good show, Taka. Let me know if you need screenshots/saves from built-up cities - the beta testing team have plenty of those with the New Frontiers mod. :)
i'm a lifelong anno player. ever since 1602 first came out, i own every anno game, btw, you have already earned my respect, 1. because y our a cat dad, (people who love cats are awesome in my book) and you posted this video on my 54th birthday, may 22 lol.
Personally i like anno 2205 with the exception of 2 major things. How goods transport works between zones(the only 1 good per ship thing witch made no sense for how expensive they where aswell) and the combat(tough i feel like almost every anno i played has had some kind of problem with that)
This looks like exactly the kind of improvement this game needs...but the real question is will someone make an updated chain calculator website for this? 😁
You know, I've really been hoping that the next official Anno game is basically going to be this. Another future-based game that sees you trying to colonise (and maybe even terraform!) Mars. I know people seem to prefer the historial ones, but 2070 was my first Anno game and so I guess I've also had a thing for the futuristic aesthetic. Honestly, the parts are kinda all in place from 1800. Each area that you can colonise could be a different planet/moon, with the zoomed-out map being the whole solar system and all your trade routes being spaceships flying between all the planets. I think it would be fun anyway...
Kindred spirit here. Anno 1404 is fantastic but guess what 2070 is also fantastic. Why people always must side with one if they can have both. I'd like to Annos switch between past and future. Maybe this time we can go like 2025, I mean why not
I'm 100% with you on this!! Maybe in the future I'm gonna buy Anno1800 because it genuinely seems like a great game, but rn I'm playing again Anno2070 with a friend and we just can't get enough of it! I was a kid when Anno2070 released so I guess I too prefer the futuristic aesthetic because of emotional influence, but yeah next anno should totally be set in the future.
I do understand your worries, but be assured, the production chains are not as complex as 1800's lategame chains (looking at you E-Scooter). And as you progress through the game and research more techs, most of the chains get A LOT easier, for example Cybersynth Circuits can be done entirely on the Moon from Rare Earth Elements after research where you have to produce them from Microchips in the Tundra to begin with. Also there are techs to replace more complex inputs with simpler ones later down the line. The main challenge in the beginning is to get that logistics up and going, as you need a lot of traderoutes! Those don't use ships, but it is still vital to have an overview to not have everything twice.
@taludas me just confirming that it is the main anno 2205 directory you place your mod as verified 2 times and re did both times still not showing the custom screen on load up
Hello ! Just a question : If we wish to play that expansion, and we start a complete new game for this occasion, once installed, will a previous game we keep playing with include also all the changes...? Thanks for your reply. Will appreciate.
Can anyone plz help me? 76 hrs into my game with this mod and my moon only has one Helium 3 mine wich i accidentally deleted and now my entire save is a bust since i cant produce fusion core? i think its a bug but not sure if its in the game or this mod? how can i fix this?
How is Anno 2205 compared to 2070? I played 2070 and liked it, but it felt underwhelming. When 2205 got out I was not thrilled and skipped it. Maybe I missed out on a hidden gem tough?
If you found Anno 2070 underwhelming (why though), 2205 is introducing multiregional but dumbed down version of distribution but it's still very good game. Soon this comment section will swarm with "i like historical more" but play it for longer time (like 2070 - with research, modules, 3 factions, eco...) and you might change your opinion.
@@Valdore1000 I can't fully summarize anymore why, as its been quite a few years since. From what I remember I felt like it lacked map variety and "Civilization Steps" as in you reached the end level houses a little too easy. Compared to Anno 1800 where the Engineers and Investors require quite a bit of work. Also there could have been a few more AI players to choose from, some were rather incompetent even on higher lvls. Flavour wise I liked the future idea and the setting, also the music and graphics were very appealing. (of course comparing it to 1800 isnt fair, as thats newer and quite a big deal, but even to 1404 I'd have the same arguments.)
I personally adored anno2070 (still playing it today) and out of excitement I bought anno2205 at launch. It's not a super good game tbh but it's playable and can be fun. I just didn't like many of the changes made, but the game itself is not bad. Currently considering buying the complete edition to play with this mod
ok managed to buy game and all dlc for 9 quid on epic nice deal btw. so i install this mod and i edit the config to enable local files but i still don't see mod installed in game> can someone tell me the path? is it the folder with the anno.exe in it?
I can't install this mod because I don't have "Anno 2205" folder in my Documents folder, so I can't find the engine.ini file, also can't find it anywhere on any of my drives for that matter. I've started the game many times (it's not an issue of "first run"). I'm on Win11 and the game is installed from Epic Games and it works normally otherwise. I clearly remember editing engine.ini file before (years before) when I was installing some other mods. Does anyone have a problem like this? :-)
@@taludas@taludas I never redirected the Documents folder. In fact, I don't even use it ever. I"m an old school DOS guy, keeping my documenents where I want, which is not the C drive :-) I have no idea where my 2205 keeps the config files :-) ... for 2070, I can find some engine.ini file buried in AppData folder, but not for 2205 unfortunately :-)

Another user had the same problem, the issue was his username for the pc had a special character and that hindered the creation of the Anno 2205 folder. He solved it by adding another user to his pc with no special characters.
@taludas hi thanks I managed to do it but unfortunately the mod doesn't load I get to splash screen I see mod name so I know its installed but it never passes the loading screen to main menu
Why the heck is an in-game trade network system based on an external network wifi server. I will never understand some game design decisions. You should just be able to set up trade networks, IN-GAME, like you could in previous Anno games. I've been playing Anno 2205 and I really like it, but the lack of ability, or rather limitations on the world market, to set up trade routes is a big flaw, especially considering how expensive things are. You really don't get the same sense of satisfaction of earning money and setting up business like you do from previous installments. And the arbitrary limiters you have on how much money you can have is also annoying. I definitely don't like those two major limiters in this title, despite the fact I really do enjoy it. I do understand why it's every persons least favorite Anno game.

Anno 2205 is my favorite Anno game too.. I also love the future theme more than historical even though Anno 1800 is really cool too..
I always wished for a large DLC for Anno 2205. Hope this works well and hope a lot of people play it.
So many fond memories of this game. Thanks for showcasing some 2205 memory flashback for me.
What are you, 12? :D
Wow, this seems like an amazing MOD. Thanks for showing us. Can't wait to see more of this from you

I think there hasn't been any chain calculator for 2205 since it has the statistics built in very comfortably.

i will 100% try this out. Been ages since i last playd 2205
At the beginning I was like "damn am I going to have to buy 2205 too?" But then I immediately became overstressed by the supply chains
The supply chains are easier than they look. Also you do not need to manage any ships or items. The mod does add some complexity though. :)
It is easier than Anno 1800 with all the dlc:s I think.
