So happy to see you in a tutorial, Tammy. I love how you take your time explaining slowly and precisely each step you do. The binding explanation was wonderful. Can’t wait to try that method as I always struggle with it. The tip for counting stitches was great. It’s this little tips from an experienced person that really help a beginner like myself. Such a simple thing but never thought to do that.
Tammy really is an awesome teacher. We are glad we could help you learn something new. Thank you for watching! -Kristen
Great directions, thanks.

4 years ago you made a tutorial called Magic binding that tutorial was the game changer for connecting binding together perfectly. I have referred back to that tutorial whenever I needed a reminder throughout the years. I am so happy you are back. The tote is lovely Mother’s Day is coming soon I will have to make this for my mom.
Thank you for watching. I just know your mother will love this cute tote! -Kristen
Great video, truly enjoyed it
Thank you for watching. -Kristen

omg looks like I could do this.
This is such a fun and easy project to do at home! -Kristen
Great camera work, too!
We love our awesome team! -Kristen
I made one about 2 weeks ago. Directions are great! Sooo cute!
We are so glad you enjoyed this fun tote bag project! -Kristen
Great demonstration of how to handle the binding ends! That procedure can be very confusing. Question: with the insulated binding, can you wash the tote, in case of leaky food, etc.?
After the product is complete you can totally wash this project! -Kristen
Great video thanks! Would you always use a walking foot with these types of projects?
You can choose to if you'd like - we typically have the dual feed on our Bernina engaged, and it mimics a walking foot. Hope this helps :) -Michelle
Hey there! This is my first time commenting. I have a question, what size needle do you use for this tote, especially since it's an insulated batting? Thank you so much for your help!
Hi Kathy - Tammy recommends the Schmetz Super Non Stick size 100/16 needle for this project. www.shabbyfabrics.com/p65070 Hope this helps :) -Michelle
❤❤❤
We are happy you enjoy this cute project! -Kristen
The inside seams are not finished at all?
The seams on the inside are raw edges. Hope this helps. -Kristen
I was wondering this too. You could use a serger or similar stitch. I think I might do a French seam.
Putting on binding at the end is magical!!!! Thank you!!!
I used a serger to finish the raw seam. It’s fine, all good.
If you don’t have spray baste what do you do
We would recommend laying your fabrics out as straight as possible and running a few lines of basting stitches down the project. Then you can stitch around the edges as normal without worrying about it wrinkling up. Remove the basting stitches after the edges are secured. Hope this helps! -Kristen
How do you know how much fabric you need?
The batting packaging states the fabric requirements. You can find that information here: www.shabbyfabrics.com/p83213/quilt-as-you-go-pre-printed-batting-insulated-shopper-tote?searchQuery=insulated+shopper+totes Hope that helps! -Kristen
On the strap what is the seam allowance 1/8th?
Our makers said that they used 1/8 inch to top stitch and 1/2 inch to attach the straps to the bag. -Kristen
I never thought of counting the stitches for the box on the straps. Thank you.
We are so happy we could help! -Kristen
