You were right, I ended up swapping back to the stock air box and found out that performance was not negatively impacted at all, I had more "consistent" acceleration, I had much better peace of mind about contaminants not getting into the bore, and I didn't even have to downjet! The biggest boon I got was getting a HUGE increase in MPG after the stock air box went back on. Apparently those crappy paper filter pod filters don't let a lot of air through but they also allow so much nasty junk into the engine. I'm an air box guy for life now

To add some context: a 47mm BBK on a 139QMB is OK, because apparently the QMB was originally designed to work with a 47mm top end but the top end was cut down to 39mm to comply with many local moped CC regulations. Putting a 52mm top end kit and revving the bike at 9k RPMs for long periods of time in my opinion is recipe for the bottom-end bearings failing. From the OP's video it certainly sounds like he's keeping the cruising revs down to a reasonable level so I don't think there'd be an issue

Yet ?Would you know why one of them runs regular and the other one is a Real piece of crap, it’s terrible maybe 20 miles an hour and the steering is crooked what’s up with all that bro.thank you sincerely Paul
These Chinese scooters are built how they please from factory all the time even though there are two identical bikes internally they might be different you could never rely on consistency with these Chinese scooters to be quite honest it’s not superior power sports because they come mostly assembled it’s China themselves. About the crooked steering that sounds like an assembly fault though
I understand that and I appreciate it the assembly you can only put the Bolt in one-proper way I did it I’ve been doing it right i’ve looked at several bikes the boat is in perfect it came crooked like the bars are bent or something I don’t know thank you for your response though I have a good day buddy
That’s what this whole video about brother lol Yes most definitely. Aftermarket parts are a dime a dozen you can build an entire Taotao, to get it quick for about $600 all brand new parts. You should watch my channel. I have a video right after this where I explain a general guide on what you need to do to make them fast.
Those cromed out exhaust pipes are very weak, i drive deliveries daily about 50 to 150km and a have ripped those mount weldings off several times allready becouse of the forces that come from that bulky muffler bending the structure on every bump.
I’m already a step ahead of you brother not only did I reinforced two brackets But I also cut out the back of the muffler that attaches to the header and welded a thick steel plate, where the bolts bolt into, and there will never be any issues with this muffler, still going strong 💪 Check out my most recent short this bike is going to be much much much faster way bigger plans for this summer. I’m going to have to make it another. Fast Taotao Pony50 video title Once it is done, this is not going to do justice.
Those are not covers I simply painted them myself just like I did my tail light. All I did is I took one line of masking tape ran it down the center and spray painted it black to match the paint as well 👌
Doing that, I already painted a ton of it black since this video I only have to paint the right side of the engine black now you should watch the video I just uploaded for an up to date build
so you removed the back fender to "clean" it up a little .. and not care about all the shit and grime that will be flung up on your filter .. posible sucked into your engine .. well thats smart :D

It’s very difficult to pinpoint what is wrong mechanically without seeing it in person there’s a step-by-step process to deduct what is wrong typically. Air, fuel and spark, Those three things make an engine run so those are the first three things you need to check and cover. If they all check out that’s what he started digging into deeper more difficult things I wish I could be of help but I can’t help you but I can help you by saying a 150cc carburetor is WAY to big for a BBK’d 50cc bike, I run a 20mm Glixal carb and that’s plenty enough, anything more and I’d be experiencing a lot better of bogging, carb down to a 20mm and swap out the main jet for more fuel past that point, I run a 20mm car with a 96 main jet and it runs great

I'm an air box guy for life now
Has it blown up yet? Or you still got the scoot?? Love the Chanel bro, I just got done building a 2013 taotao stunt scoot lol it’s rad as hell, pretty much fully done up with Glixal parts
No it’s still running strong not close to blowing up I just took it on 120 mile road trip if you maintain your bike it will remain in one piece lol
@@davidhofinger4927 oh I know trust me I was just wanting to get some true opinions so far everyone has told me my 139qmb will blow up because I’ve done a bbk and upgrades to the motor, everyone says “they’re not meant to handle that” I was just wanting to get some true reviews on some of the parts I got on my scoot and honestly your channel done just that , keep the killer videos coming bro
I have a 50 cc it does 30 but I need that 10 plus at least to stay at 40 what can I do ?
Watch my video that I made not too long after this one titled
“Guide to modify a moped”
It will explain everything you are asking in descriptive detail that is easy to understand
pretty slick scoot
What carburetor do you have on your tao
A 20mm Glixal CVK carb
What type of oil does this bike take?
I always use Valvoline Full Synthetic 4 stroke motorcycle oil at 10W-40
Works great and have used it for years along with buddies of mine
4:18 where did you get the big bore kit? Or can you drop the link?
I bought it from my local shop but I know for sure it’s just a cheap $50 Chinese brand BBK, it’s still going strong to this day 💪
What’s the top speed on her now I have basically all that done to mine other then the exhaust
This was A year and a half ago almost 2 years now, With a lot more things done to this bike after this video I now have hit 51 MPH
GPS verified not according to the analog speedometer like this video which was off by at least 7 mph
Don’t rely on the analog speedometer they are way off
Oh yeah for sure I’ve got mine to 45
Gunna get an engine temp gauge next just to be safe and some nos for hills 😜 and an exhaust just cuz have it run a little lean to make sure it don’t blow up
Where are you from New Jersey
Nope, reside in Michigan man
You got a link to the gates belt
I crashed my scooter the other day. What type of paint do I need to paint my scooter?
Simple paint+primer rustoleum paint is what I always use on any re-paint and it comes out beautifully
I have a 2017 Zummer 🛵 the right side handle grip broke off, I remove the left handle grip to put on the right side, how do I replace it's, It want grip it.....
I don’t have a video about that myself or I would share the link with you but you could follow this video this thoroughly explains how to do so it’s really easy ruclips.net/video/aY0TyrB5_6k/видео.html
How did you make the body look like that??
Painters tape, Clean careful lines with the tape and black spray paint.
I laid the tape down kept it on as I spray painted it and removed the tape when it was dry to create a turn signals & tail light to look like that
Links to the parts plz
😊
🛵 💨
What is your man jet I can’t get mine right
96 main jet
Hey David what is the name of the Battey you use
WE ZE 12v 6amp battery really any 12v 6am bigger battery will do doesn’t have to be specific but definitely keeps up with the higher demand and doesn’t hurt nothing 👍
@@davidhofinger4927 thanks man my taotao pony build just started. thanks for all of your help
Hey buddy I had a question if you get a chance I bought two of them scooters recently same thing you have pony 50 something about California emissions too from superior Power Sports? I think they scammed me but I’m not sure.
Damn you 🥵
😘❤️ 👆R 🥵🥵🥵

I have a Question is it possible to modify the speed of the TaoTao moped ?
That’s what this whole video about brother lol
Yes most definitely.
Aftermarket parts are a dime a dozen you can build an entire Taotao, to get it quick for about $600 all brand new parts.
You should watch my channel. I have a video right after this where I explain a general guide on what you need to do to make them fast.
@@davidhofinger4927 Thank you Sir
What type of battery did you get to replace stock battery?
I use the 12 V 6 AMP battery, It’s twice the size as the stock one is you can see it in my LED headlight video previously if you want photo context
@@davidhofinger4927 thank you for the info man
Those cromed out exhaust pipes are very weak, i drive deliveries daily about 50 to 150km and a have ripped those mount weldings off several times allready becouse of the forces that come from that bulky muffler bending the structure on every bump.
Solution has been custom bracket mounted on muffler to back fender screw hole on the engine block
I’m already a step ahead of you brother not only did I reinforced two brackets But I also cut out the back of the muffler that attaches to the header and welded a thick steel plate, where the bolts bolt into, and there will never be any issues with this muffler, still going strong 💪
Check out my most recent short this bike is going to be much much much faster way bigger plans for this summer. I’m going to have to make it another. Fast Taotao Pony50 video title Once it is done, this is not going to do justice.
U got a link for belt
With all the mods did you have to register it?
Why pay extra money when it’s still a “50”cc bike 🤷♂️ nope lol
@@davidhofinger4927 you the real MVP!
Can you link me those blinker covers, the front knes
Those are not covers I simply painted them myself just like I did my tail light. All I did is I took one line of masking tape ran it down the center and spray painted it black to match the paint as well 👌
Howd u do those headlights
ruclips.net/video/4D5GMbMIyRM/видео.html
I need a good aftermarket carb for my tao what you got
Responded to your other comment, 20mm Glixal CVK carb works beautifully for these 80cc BBK’d tao’s
could two people ride on this
Two people can and have, many times
Just tell her to hold on tight 👌
How could I get mine to go that fast
I made a video on exactly how to do that step-by-step ruclips.net/video/Tu9AC3tVXGc/видео.html
Will Ruckus engine parts work on a QMB139
Just the transmission things like the variator the clutch,a clutch is a clutch a variator is a variator but engine parts will not work on that no
When it rains I cannot ride cause water go right in pod
Yup. Me too bud lol I will tape a piece of cardboard in between the wheel and the filter if it’s raining if I need to get somewhere
Wait sooo you can't ride this in the rain???? I just bought one
You paint it black everything then
Doing that, I already painted a ton of it black since this video I only have to paint the right side of the engine black now you should watch the video I just uploaded for an up to date build
Do I order these parts on Amazon????? Someone please help
The plastics painted?
Yessir, springs, block, plastics almost everything
How much can you sell it for
With everything done to it now, it’s my much more built than this videos time, 14-1,500 but have no interest in ever doing so it’ll always be my baby
@@davidhofinger4927 alr cool i have the same moped, where did you get your exhaust from and what’s it called
I need lil help
so you removed the back fender to "clean" it up a little .. and not care about all the shit and grime that will be flung up on your filter .. posible sucked into your engine .. well thats smart :D
I put 100cc big bore in my 49 cc but it start up then i took up road then it turn off and it will not start up again i put lots of cash in it and it not running i put 150cc carb on it also
It’s very difficult to pinpoint what is wrong mechanically without seeing it in person there’s a step-by-step process to deduct what is wrong typically. Air, fuel and spark, Those three things make an engine run so those are the first three things you need to check and cover. If they all check out that’s what he started digging into deeper more difficult things I wish I could be of help but I can’t help you but I can help you by saying a 150cc carburetor is WAY to big for a BBK’d 50cc bike, I run a 20mm Glixal carb and that’s plenty enough, anything more and I’d be experiencing a lot better of bogging, carb down to a 20mm and swap out the main jet for more fuel past that point, I run a 20mm car with a 96 main jet and it runs great
@@davidhofinger4927 I put a 100cc big bore kit on my 49cc moped I put a pipe on it a filter upgrade at 1st I could start it up and drive it when cold start after i go down road it warms up then start driving fast slow fast slow it will not idle at all and after turns off will nit start back
