I have to admit that I have never had a mincemeat pie. I see that the tables have turned and the camerawoman is now in front of the camera and our usual host is behind the camera. She does well, at least it looks from this side. ;-) I might have to add this to my list of things to try!
Hi Jim, thanks so much for watching. Mince pies are definitely worth trying if you’ve never had one, they’re a delicious taste of the holidays. And yes, we did a little switch-up this time, glad to hear you enjoyed it from this side of the lens. Hope you get a chance to try the recipe; I’d love to hear what you think if you do. 😊
Hi Jim, great question. Mixed candied peel is a blend of citrus peels, usually orange, lemon, and sometimes citron, that has been chopped into small pieces and then candied with sugar. It adds a sweet and slightly tangy flavor, perfect for traditional holiday baking. You can find it in most grocery stores, especially around the holidays, or you can make your own at home if you’re feeling adventurous.
I have to confess that I thought you lived in Sicily😂. Obviously not. I love their cupcakes and that they cover them with the dough on top. But you're going to have to explain to me what a "mincemeat" is, because it doesn't seem to be sold here.
Hi Maria, thanks for the message. I am from Sicily but I have lived in the UK for over 30 years, Julie has something to do with it 😊. Mincemeat is a mixture of dry fruit and spices which can be purchased in the UK in supermarket. However, if you cannot buy it where you live, please take a look at the description of the video and you will find a recipe I wrote towards the end where you can make your own. I hope that helps 🙂
