Thank you for watching today's video. In this festive recipe, I showed you how to make a delicious Sausage and Broccoli Strudel with melty cheese, perfect for Christmas or New Year's Eve. This dish uses up any leftover veggies, making it a great zero-waste option. For those who prefer a vegetarian version, I've suggested an easy swap with Stilton cheese. I also included a simple minestrone recipe that you can make with any leftover vegetable stems, creating a hearty and cozy winter soup. If you have any questions or need more tips, let me know in the comments below.
Thanks, I didn't know the strudel recipe. I found it funny that you took the peel off the sausage🤔. I love minestrone soup, but I didn't know that you could use that part of the broccoli, nor the hard part of the cheese, you are quite a character 😁
Thank you so much, Maria 😊 I'm glad you enjoyed the strudel recipe, taking the peel off the sausage is my little secret to make sure everything cooks evenly and blends smoothly. And yes, the broccoli stem and cheese rind are too good to waste. They add so much flavour to the minestrone and help make the most of every ingredient. I love sharing these little tricks, and it's wonderful to hear they brought a smile to your face. Thanks for watching 😀
@JulieElia-n3g - Yes, I noticed! And there I was, hoping to have a few lunches sorted with that minestrone. 😄 At least the strudel lasted a bit longer... though not by much! 😜
Its interesting that you mentioned breaking spaghetti for minestrone. My wife's Neapolitan grandmother used to break spaghetti in short pieces for soup. Both the Strudel and your Minestrone look delicious and I cannot wait to make them both!
Thanks Stephen - I believe that using broken spaghetti to make minestrone and soups is very much a southern Italian tradition. Glad you like both recipes.
Buona sera Francesco! Fabulous idea. Love using this kind of pastry and also always have it either in my fridge or freezer 😊 PS I like very much the colours of thd Italian flag on your cute Christmasy jumper 😊
Buona sera, Vale 😊 Thank you so much, I am thrilled you liked the recipe. Puff pastry is such a lifesaver, isn’t it? Perfect for quick and delicious dishes, and it’s always good to have some on hand. I’m glad you noticed the Italian flag colors on my Christmas jumper, it’s my way of bringing a little festive Italian flair into the kitchen. 🎄🇮🇹 Grazie for watching, and happy cooking 😊
You're so right, Natalya, the stems are often the most flavorful part 😊. I love hearing that you make the most of them too, no waste and so much goodness. It’s great to connect with like-minded food lovers.
Grazie mille! I'm so glad the RUclips algorithm brought you here. I truly believe that simplicity in cooking allows the flavours and colors to shine, so your kind words mean a lot. Welcome to the TortellinoTime family, and thank you for the like and subscription, naturalmente! Buon Natale to you too, wishing you a season filled with warmth, joy, and delicious food.
Thank you for your concern, Sher. All is well here in East Anglia, we didn't experience any issues with the bad weather. The problems were primarily on the western side of the UK, closer to Wales.
These both look excellent! My list is getting long. It'll be a few days before I do much cooking. OH, I forget that Thanksgiving is basically an American holiday. No wonder you are not talking about it. lol Silly me.
Hi Jim. Thank you so much for your kind words and for being such an engaged supporter, it’s always a pleasure to read your comments. 😊 You’ve got great timing with your Thanksgiving note! Julie and I are actually working on something special today, a recipe that brings together touches of the UK, Italy, and a twist of America, in recognition of the wonderful community we’ve built here. And what better opportunity to share our gratitude than for Thanksgiving? We’re hoping to have the video ready later today, but if not, it’ll definitely be up tomorrow. Stay tuned, and thank you again for being part of this journey with us 🙂
@@TortellinoTime Thankfulness and gratitude, both of them are so important in life. It helps us know what is truly important and how much is enough. I'm looking forward to your video!

I saw in the news that there have been really bad floods and storms in the UK. I hope you are all OK and have't had any damage.
