Note to Arrow fans: I'm sorry.
Note to people who aren't mad at me about Arrow: One of my first fanvideos was an edit of the 2004 Punisher movie (to a Breaking Benjamin song, typical mid-aughts amirite?). I wasn't really into comic book characters except for the Punisher, so when I found out his character was getting added to season 2 of "Daredevil," I was excited and unsure he could live up to my expectations. Boy, was I wrong. In many ways, this video feels like I'm getting back to my roots, only a million times better with experience and a different take on the Punisher. (No disrespect to Thomas Jane, "I just want my kids back!")
Technical jibber-jabber that no one else will care about but I want to say anyway: I edited a version of this in 480p first, and it was an unmitigated disaster. Just trust me when I say that it's a good thing I didn't foist it on humanity. So after I'd completely finished, colored, and rendered the video, I decided to redo the entire thing with larger footage. It meant no scrubbing through footage, but that was fine because I had already edited the cuts and timing. So it was tedious and took a week to edit, but it also didn't kill my computer. I AM NOT LYING WHEN I SAY MY COMPUTER SITUATION IS DIRE. The constant freezing and crashing might have caused a stomach ulcer, but I haven't been this proud of a video in a while.

His Punisher portrayal in my opinion is equivalent to Hugh Jackmans Wolverine, or Chris Hemsworths Thor. After seeing him as the Punisher I can't picture anyone else playing this role. This man is a highly underrated actor.

I'd be willing to wager that there isn't another actor alive that could play as good of a role as Frank Castle than Jon Bernthal. Just my opinion. He just carries something that is tangible behind his eyes that really displays the pain and the fire inside the Punisher.

Thomas Jane.... the only person who should ever be allowed to play that role. A much better portrayal of Frank Castle... much more realistic fit in persona.

Dolph Lungdren was a great choice for the punisher but the movie was shit. Tom Jane was an awful choice for Punisher and that movie was shit too. Punisher Warzone was actually pretty good and they cast it well too but Netflix Punisher is the definitive Punisher fans been waiting for.

@@aliahpersonous2893 if I remember well, he's constantly training his pain tolerance in the comics by doing all sorts of exercises such as having a punching machine punch him in the gut repeatedly, just so he can project that image among the street thugs of a man that's made of iron and doesn't flinch

@@aliahpersonous2893 It's more likely to not feel it at all. Analgesia causes you to not feel pain because your neuronal system just doesn't give info from pain receptors to brain. Actually it's quite dangerous illness as you wouldn't feel ANY pain so you can die from sth wrong with your internal organs f.e. as you simply won't feel symptoms. You can just crush your spleen during accident and literally bleed to death internally without single clue you should go to doctor. Same with cancer etc.
I'm not sure if it's possible to have your neuronal system not detecting pain below high intensity. I know people with quite high pain tolerance, but they feel any pain, they just ignore it.
The pain behind those eyes... pulls me into this character like a deep pool of dark thick waters...

Glad it got canceled. The shows sucked. The DD episodes with Punisher were awesome but when they gave him his own show it sucked. The first season i fought to stay awake and the second i didn't get past the first episode.

The Punisher was, by far, the best of Netflix's Marvel adaptations. It is almost the antithesis of Iron Fist. The rest was a mixed bag.

After watching this video and hearing this song the first thing that popped into my head was EPIC which this work is in every way. Hozier has a haunting voice easy yet compelling in his delivery and passion. Something timeless a blues bravado balanced with a soulful cry grabs you by the neck and keeps your attention firmly focused on his phrasing and lyrics. Once more this song is EPIC.

The love of his wife and children are driving him. However, I think he DOES care for Karen as much as he can. I think he would keep her at arms length to keep from falling for her completely, but would want to keep her safe and protected. I'm okay with that as long as we get to see that he cares and interactions between the two. Lol, does that make sense? I so hope Deborah Ann Woll is casted as a regular on the Punisher series.

Yeah, totally agree, im huge fan of DC , but hell yeah, Punisher is fcking awesome, fits much more to DC, compare to all crap Marvel made before, i mean there is have to be balance between jokes and darkness in movies. Hope Marvel will keep this dark side at least in tv series, coz i dont even watch a "big" movies they made anymore (ofc i will make an exception for Infinity War) . I've never even watched Daredevil, nor read any Punisher comics, yet I am now attributing everything I read regarding Punisher with this mans face. He makes me think that the same way Tony Stark is RDJ, Chris Evans is Captain America, and Hugh Jackman is Wolverine, Jon Bernthal IS The Punisher now.

He was born for this part as Punisher. i don't like the role he had during Walking dead, felt like they wasted a lot of potential. although he did the best of it and deserves a lot of respect for it. i really hope he stays in his role as Punisher for a long time to come.

+lolilie Thank you! Coloring is most of the reason I couldn't stand my first edit in 480p. It all got so pixellated as soon as I tried to lighten anything up, and then it just went from bad to worse. This still took a lot of tweaking, especially on individual clips, but I'm happy with the final result. And yes, every single scene Frank and Karen had together was some intriguing television!
