This was a HUGE help! THANK YOU! Liked and subscribed. Keep the Z8 vids coming. Loving mine!
Awesome! That makes my day! Glad it helped!! Thanks for watching and subscribing! What other topics would you like to see for the Z8
I am so very pleased with the help you gave me this morning. Why? It is because you talk clearly and SLOWLY enough to understand. That alone is huge! Second, because of your advice here, I have now assigned fn1 to ZOOM to 100% and fn2 to Single Point AF. I went beyond Subscribing to your site. I am saving it inside a folder in my iMac Favorites. Your's is the 1st place I will go to for tuning up my Z8. Thank you.
Thanks so much for your kind words! I'm glad my videos help. I get grief from some viewers for talking too slow, but I know how it is when I have to keep replaying parts of videos I watch because they talk soooo fast.
THANK U FOR THE SHORTER VIDEO ON CUSTOM SETTINGS .. EXCELLENT IDEA !!!!!!!!!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!

Love the spotlight video idea !!!!
Loved it
Just found your channel... subscribed. 🍻
Welcome aboard! 🍻
I managed to learn a bit here, but would like more options to choose from when assigning functions.
Glad you learned a bit! Thanks for watching!
Hi Sir, do you have session on how to set our Z8 to Capture One specifically from A to Z?
No, I use LR and PS mainly. I've dabbled with C1 with my Fuji files but not enough to have the expertise to make a tutorial. Sorry. Thanks for watching!
Hey....nice Vid. Can you tell me what Canon printer that is behind you ?
I need a new workhorse printer and it looks like the size I need.
Thanks
Thanks! It's the Pro-1000. I've had it for a little over 5 years and have had zero issues. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this video. Question: When I am shooting I like to have the ISO/SS/F# buttons at the bottom of the screen so that I can change by touching the screen. For some reason this is no longer displayed? Can you help me out!?
Try pushing the 'DISP' button that's to the right of the viewfinder. You may have to press several times to cycle it back to the screen you're looking for. Let me know if that works. Thanks for watching!
@@TomReplogle OH MY!!! It worked!!! Thank you so very much!! I love everything about photography except the "technical" part!!! :)
Thanks Tom. What L bracket are you using for the Z8 in this video?
Hey Mike, that L-bracket is made by SmallRig. I made a video about it here --> ruclips.net/video/Jv7IreXgud0/видео.html
Thanks for watching!
@@TomReplogle Came here to ask the same question, I'll check out your other vid. Wondering about availability here in the US. New sub here :)
Hey Craig, I bought mine from their eBay store. They’ve always overestimated shipping time. I think when I ordered it was supposed to ship by the end of June and I got it right after I received my Z8. I’ve really been impressed with SmallRig lately. Thanks for watching!
How did you get the histogram on the display screen?
Goto: Custom Shooting Menu -> d17
Select the display you want to customize then hit the right side of the multi-selector to set up the screen layout (or "Set" on the screen). Thanks for watching.
Hi Tom. Do you know if the Z8 has an anti aliasing filter? Thank you.
I assume it doesn’t since it has the same sensor as the Z9. If you’re not familiar, the lack of an anti-aliasing filter will make your photos more susceptible to moire. I’ve had issues with it shooting buildings…easily removed in post.
@@TomReplogle Thanks Tom. Nikon's Web site does not say anything about it, but it does explicitly say that the z7 does not have it. So, I am puzzled. Thank you.
No antialiasing filter
@@laranitasantana Thanks Tom!
I will subscribe if you can tell me where is this L bracket you have put on Z8, available. Please share the link and I hope it’s not the small rig pre-production unit..!!
It’s a smallrig bracket purchased off of their eBay store. Thanks for watching!
Nikon Z8 - I have set the DISP button as DISP in Controls/Custom controls and confirmed with the menu button, but the BISP button still does not work. What could be the reason for this? Thanks!
Make sure you have boxes selected for d18/d17 in the Custom Shooting Menu. If that doesn't fix it then it possibly could be a bad button.
@@TomReplogle thank you so much, it works!
I didn't understand one thing - it seems that you have your command dial set to exposure compensation while you still have your +- button set to exposure compensation, too. Why is that? I have a very bad feeling that Nikon does not allow you to set anything else than exp. compensation to the +- button. Am I right?
Apologies if that was confusing. My rear command dial is set to shutter speed and my front command dial is aperture. You can change the +/- function button to something other than exposure compensation but I keep it at its default to adjust the overall exposure when shooting in Auto ISO. I hope that clears things up. New video coming soon on the My Menu and then I'll be making one on my current setup. Stay tuned and thanks for watching!
@@TomReplogle Thanks so much for clearing that up!
